I noticed I was creeping up to 1000 post and thought it would be cool to do a recap.
My registered date is October 2010, but I really didn't start participating or even reading till January 2011. When I started on TradGang I owned a Schafer Silvertip 62@28 and a 55@28 Viper longbow. From January 2011 till now I've owned 8 different bows, which I know that's not very many to a lot of you guys. I've tried literally every aiming method I've heard of. I've tried split finger and three under. One thing that has helped me more than anything is videoing myself and posting the videos on the Shooters Forum for everybody to critique. The knowledge on the forum is unbelievable! If your thinking about doing and haven't, I strongly recommend doing it.
I've killed my first deer with a trad bow and my first coyote with a trad bow since joining. I have become a better hunter because of TradGang. The stories and the tips I've gotten, and continue to get, is amazing. I've really do have more respect for nature because of the stories I've read here.
Finally the friends I've made. That really does top it all off for me. I've made some friends that will last a life time thanks to TradGang, and I bet I'll make more. I tell my wife that I think of all the members of TradGang as family. I would and will help anybody out in anyway I can. So thank you for making TradGang what it is, and of course THANK YOU ADMINS! Terry you've made the best site on the web hands down! And I can't thank you enough! :notworthy: :campfire:
Cool thread. I like the video taping and sending it in idea.
Congrats on the grand, it is a memorable moment next to 2000.
We are blessed to have you!
God bless,Mudd

I do the same with my wife. She supports this obsession of mine partly because of TG. I showed her the story about the St. Jude's hunt in Trad Archer's World this weekend and she said, "Well you ought to figure out how to get in on one of those hog hunts next winter."

It is all about family and the passion we share.
Congrats!!
How are you coming with your bow building?
Very nicely said Jon. I'm with you 100%. It doesn't get any better, Trad Gang is the best.

Bob.
Thanks guys! Tyler reminded me another sickness I've picked up since joining TradGang and that is bow building.
Tyler- Its going good! I've shaved the bark off and sealed the staves you gave me. Thanks again man!
I was looking around my "man cave" last night and noticed everything I own (traditional archery) is in some way tied to TradGang. Whether it is something I've bought or traded from the classifieds, or things I've bought from TradGang sponsors. A lot of the businesses I didn't know about until they became a sponsor here. I thought that was pretty cool.
I've turned into a junky also. I looked at the bench in the shed last night and all I see are broadheads, files, stones, feathers, hot glue, and a ton of arrows. Wouldn't change for anything. I owe it all to this place.
Congrats, I'll be there soon.
1000 Posts, in just over a year! Wholly cow son, don't you work? :scared:
For those of you who haven't had the pleasure to meet Jon, let me tell you, he has a huge passion for traditional archery. He's a gentleman in every sense of the word and will soon be a father. :notworthy:
Jon's the young lad on the right. The "distinquished gentleman" on the left is Straight_arrow.
