Well, it all started about a week ago when a couple buddies and I started to plan a go at some hogs.
We all got together about 2 pm this afternoon to head to our stands. As we started down the road, we ran into some problems. It was flooded. You could not see the road and we still had about 3 miles to go. BUMMER!!
Well with the plans looking like a bust, we decided to scout a new area instead of wasting to day. After about 3 miles or so of walking we had almost made it back to the truck. We had all relaxed and were shooting the bull when something caught my ear. It was a grunt!!
We all went into super stealth mode at once. I told one guy to stop there and had the other follow for about 40 yards and stop, then I went about 40 more. The pigs were headed right to us. Perfect!!
All of the sudden a huge pig busted out of the woods about 60 yards past me. I could still hear pigs in the woods and brush and decided to go in. I spotted a friend moving farther down the road in the direction we came from and the other on point looking just ahead of me at the place the noise was coming from. Things were looking good.
As I started moving closer, John, the guy that stayed close started to move in also. We were closing in on both sides now...somebody is gonna shoot.
I spotted some black in front of me. It was close!! John and I were right in the big middle of them pigs and didn't know it. That is when all heck broke loose.
To make a long story short, when it was all said and done, I got 3 and John got 1. Both of us, however, got bit. We are gonna be fine, but it could have just as easily gone the other way. We are at home now, maybe a rest is in order.
Eric, the third guy, took some pics. I will post them in a bit when I can load them, but keep in mind, they are not for the weak at heart.
God bless,
Nathan
Hate you got bit but it makes for a cool story!!!
Nathan, glad you are o.k. I double-lunged a nice boar 2 weeks ago in w.TX at 8 yards. He put a death charge on me quick & before I knew what happened he knocked me on my butt & I still have the mark on my a_ _ to prove it. It was pretty crazy. See the Mule Creek thread by Shaun.
Sounds like fun, I can't wait to see the pics.
Well I finall got it loaded, you can see how the situation turned... You just never know.

Too funny!
Shish-kabobs! Nice catch guys.
Cornish Pork.  :biglaugh:
Cute little buggers. Will make some fine eating.......in about a year! Great story.
Nice story! You sure had me going. I,ve been hearing lots of talk about litters this year.Mississippi prohibits transporting them live. Use to be lots of guys would catchem that size and pen raise them. Our public swamp land closes at a certain river stage and keeps hunters from capitalizing on stranded critters. Sure is a good time to killem though.
 :biglaugh:
I'm glad your OK! ;) THey look viscious!
looks like you had a sqealing good time  .
Dang I think pigs run a bit small in Arkansas. LOL
Mike
Got me. I also took the bait. Good job with the title
Excellent
Hillarious!!!!!!!
Mean little suckers! Glad you survived!
You guys must be quick on your feet. I tried to catch one a couple years back. They are quick. Awesome catch.
You got me also
:clapper: :biglaugh:
You guys are quick!! great photo
Awesome post! Great job on the fleetness of foot and quickness of hands. Had I tried that the result would likely have looked more like that of Gullivers Travels except with a bunch of tiny pigs cheering and circling my fallen body!
What you gonna name them???
Very cool!
Been there too...so scary!!!

Cool! But take it from me, Do NOT let them sleep in bed with you.
Good hunting guys, killem all.
I got PooPooed by the wife for shooting one the size of a small loaf of bread. Since it was already dead she decided she would eat her half.

If you lived a little closer, I would call them yours.
Since there is so much real estate between us, I guess Bacon, Ham, Chops and Loin will have to do.
God bless,
Nathan
:biglaugh: :biglaugh:
Good 1!!!
feed them and they will be following you around like dogs shortly. better pets than a lot of dogs i have had! I caught one a couple weeks ago doing a control burn and he is growing like a weed and chasing the kids and dogs around, sleeps with the dogs.
Administers this is the wrong forum, needs to be moved to the Dangerous Game. I mean geez look at the size of those bad boys!!
Jk AWESOME thread man!
:saywhat: :clapper:
Thats great.
Great story,I had a feeling as I was reading this was going in a different direction.
They can be nasty biters,I caught one a few ponds bigger once.Welding gloves was manditory. :scared:
Addicting too!
Excellent! I am trying to delicately get the fish hook out of my left cheek as I type.
Congrats!

The mama to those piglets winded me and ran off. She would have been a little harder to handle. She was mid 300's easy. The whole way back to the truck, with those squealing babies in tow, I could just feel big mama running up to rescue the youngens. Makes for an interesting walk in the dark to the truck.
God bless,
Nathan
Do they come with a green salad..LOL
It'a all fun and games until someone looses a baby toe to those beasts with no bandaids in sight

Should be really good eating, ifn you aint gonna fatten them up. ;)
Did something like that at Granger Ranger Xtreme Hog Hunt (GRXH) this year. Busted out a bunch of hogs and picked up five good eating size sucklings. Yum-Yum.
Wud, I was really hoping to make that. Maybe next year. Bownanza was on my list as well. I need to venture back to TX to see all my people anyway. I become an Okie and pick up bow hunting not realizing what I'm leaving behind.
I just love a bacon sandwich.
good one!
Did they bite it ankles
:clapper: :clapper:

Guru, I can tell in that pic that the squealer your holding is gonna turn and have a go at you. You are brave, smiling in the face of danger like you do...
God Bless,
Nathan
The mama ran away?, Dang, not where I live, she would have been all over me.They are very protective of their young here.
I remember Little Feather kept and raised at least one as a pet that he posted about a few times. Made for a good pig behavior study specimen. Id prefer one of them little ones in the crock pot.
Too CUTE!!!
