Title: bow makeover
Post by: critman on March 09, 2012, 09:25:00 PM
I shoot a Samick Sage and really like this bow. I was wondering if I could do some detail work on the riser. The way to describe it would be "blocky". I think a little sanding to smooth out some of the hard lines would really make this bow look nicer. Does anyone know what kind of sealer they normally use on factory bows? I am sure that it would have to be stripped, sanded and re-sealed. Anyone ever do a bow makeover? I would love to see some before and after pics.

I just had to refinish a bow, and tried the tru-oil.  Looks really nice.  I have a recurve I want to change the grip on to a low wrist, and do some stipling.  I'll think I will try helmsman on this one.
