I really didnt have a pattern just took things i like and put it down. This is my second leather carving, my 1st was my quiver. I used deer skin on the inside. So tell your thoughts good or bad..

look's nice.
Looks nice to me. I like Elk! ;)
Congratulations.

Really like the lining. Everything looks great. Job well done. With that said, I do not like lace up arm guards. Just to much hassle. Prefer stretch cord loops with hooks or button attachments.
Ya looks good. I like the way its laced.
Great Job!!!
Nice and I like the way it laces!!!
I like it!
awesome
Good work, I would be very happy if I was you. I like the deer leather on the inside, nice touch.
Very nice work!
very impressive
That's an awesome looking armguard!
Congrats,vey nice!
Real nice.
Really nice. You might want to make another for summer use. I have always used a leather arm guard year around and like you decided to put taned elk skin on the inside of one my arm guards. I was surprised at how hot it made it. Very uncomfortable in summer.
Beautifull!
I posted that my armguard with taned elk skin was uncomfortable in summer but I put the suede side against my arm and that may have been the reason. I see your deer skin has the slick side out.
Very nice Rob! If you really want your tooling to "pop" after you do your first staining....just use a small brush with the same stain and darken in areas to really make it stand out.
Works great also as a shader....for the shadows on your animal, putting it on one side of a tree trunk or rock ect to give them more depth.
You do understand that now you have done some tooling you will never stop!
AWESOME

I didn't like the way the cow hide felt on my arm. I just happen to have some deer skin and went hmmmm. This might not be the manly thing to say but the smooth side felt better.

Now you tell me :-)I looked at your link and I understand what you are saying. Thank you for the advice, I will remember for the next time. I have put a sealer on this and don't know if I can put stain on top of it...
Very nice.
I'm likin it.

Nice work, you should consider doing a build along. That looks like a fun project.

Very nice. I would be proud to wear it.
The only critique is the liner. it looks a little waivy. Did you glue the two layer together?
Cool no doubt, you should be proud of yourself for a great piece of art.
Looks really good. Like the personal touches you did, makes it stand out. The more carving you do the better you will get.
Great job right there!

It was just the reflections that made it look that way. Yes I glued it. I first cut out the deer made it a little bit longer and wider. Then put glue on about 1 inch wide and let it dry for a few and started attaching them that way
Looks great!

You should find much gratifaction in the outcome.
