Title: Youth quiver problem
Post by: rnickl on February 29, 2012, 11:57:00 PM
My two boys, 9 and 10 years old, have back quivers that are causing some problems.  The quivers keep sliding down on their backs which makes it hard to pull the arrows out and when walking they eventually slide down far enough that someone dumps all their arrows.  I usually need to help pick up arrows about 4-5 times when we go to the range    :banghead:

Any tips from the Mom's and Dad's how your kids keep their back quivers upright?

Teach them how to wear them, or add some sort of belt clip that clips onto a belt loop and hold it high and in place.  A small carabiner either thru the strap or lashed to the strap should stop that sliding.

Rick it sure is hard to get a quiver to fit right on little ones!

A....3 point strap really helps....where an extra strap runs from the quiver on the right side....under their arm....and connects to the main one in the front.

Easy to make but here you can see one ....  http://www.3riversarchery.com/product.asp?i=6110

It's just a right of passage.  I enjoy picking up the arrows with the boys.  They have started using their own ideas to keep them from falling out.  My oldest holds the strap with his right hand now when walking, and my little one is just content stopping and picking up arrows, although he decided be doesn't need to have that many in there anymore.  It's cool watching their little minds figure out a problem themselves, and then bragging how they solved it.

How loose is the strap....?
Quivers need to be adjusted for the user.
Apparently the Quiver dose not collapse and hold the arrows....

Parachute cord and a small clip. tie the cord to the strap as it goes by the waist and make it short so the clip hooks to  the belt loop.
