Title: ILF Limb question for my wife.
Post by: xia_emperor on February 29, 2012, 11:04:00 PM
My wife has a 23" draw and likes bows that are 40Lbs at 28".

My question is would it be better for her to shoot Long, Medium or Short Limbs on a 21" riser?

She shot a bow with Long Limbs and liked it but we were not sure what would be a better fit for her.

thanks for your time.

With a 23" draw, I would think she would get the best performance out of short limbs. That combo should make a 62" bow. Would also think limbs that would make 40#s @ 28" when screwed all the way down, giving the most pre-load, would be a good idea also. But, I could be wrong.

I draw a tad over 26", and don't have a problem with short limbs, on a 21" or even a 15" riser. However, her experience could be different. lol

Agreed short Limbs. Better efficency and a much more manageable overall bow length. I too have a 21" riser use short limbs and a 28" draw. I stand 5'11". This combo still makes a 62" bow which in my view is still quite long for her.   :)

Shorts for sure and I think I'd look at a shorter riser if it's in the budget.

BTW it's ILF (international limb fitting)
