Howdy all!
Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.
My name is basil and I'm from Toronto Canada.
I became interested in archery in high school when I spent some time in the archery club but I never owned my own equipment.
I want to be able to buy my own gear so i joined this site so that I can read and learn all that there is about traditional bows/hunting.
At the moment I don't hunt but have experience hunting small game from my summers spent in my parents village in Greece.
My friends who hunt deer regularly are more than willing to join me bow hunting, so it is a added bonus to already have people know know what they are doing with me.
I have some experience with bows from school athletics and there is a range close to my house that I can practice on.
I was wondering if there were any Toronto members here on the forum that could maybe point me in the direction of any good local stores or even up for meeting and giving me tips on how to improve?
Even if there are no local members I'm always up to read anything this forum has( I think I've spent about 5 hours today reading old threads lol)
Anyways just wanted to say hi and how much I'm looking forward to being part of this forum!
Thanks!
Basil.
Greetings Basil, and welcome to tradgang!

Hello Basil and welcome to a great site. You will find all of your answers here and if it comes to it, you can find all of your equipment here and more as I'm sure you have already discovered. I hope you find a good Canadian store to do business with, but if not, this place has it all :bigsmyl:
(In fact I just placed a couple of orders from two sponsors here :jumper: :jumper: ) Good luck with your traditional journey and your entry to Trad Gang.
Todd

:wavey:  :campfire: Welcome!!!
welcome, from one new member to another
Welcome!
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
I've been doing some searching but can't seem to find a Canadian vendor.
Which is fine by me because there are so many awesome bows that I see from the site sponsors.
I have my eye on a couple but doubt such bows should be bought as a first one to learn on. Then again I don't really know what to get to learn on.
Basil, I have a custom made Georgia Cypress longbow that was gifted to me by a friend of mine. If you want, I can send it to you and some arrows so you can have a go at this :) Just PM me and we'll set it up. I live three hours west of Toronto so perhaps we can get together and get you going.
Todd

Thank you for the offer on the bow!
I will wait to take you up on that offer until I have a bit more shooting experience.

Ok, Touch base with me any time, especially if you get to the "Chemical Valley" and we'll fling some arrows. Offer will stand :campfire:
