Izzy Roman has it now and is ready to pass it on to the next person that wants to try it out.
Bill
I would love to shoot it. Should I send Izzy my contact info? How long do we keep it? 1 week or two?
Man I would love to get my hands on a Zipper. I'm just afraid if I did I would be buying another bow. :knothead: I'll just sit back and read everybody else's comments. :campfire:
Bill, i would love to test drive it. And then i will probably buy one!
Thanks for the opportunity!
Please put me on the test list....
Thanks
Glenn
I would really like to be on that list as well.
Ohhh, Unfortunately I live very very distant. :banghead: But I'm anxious to read the comments of the guys who will test it. It's a very good looking bow.
Why is this not a lefty? Why are we always left out? Huh? :dunno:
David, don't worry,Bill loves us too!
OK I'm in too....................thanks!
Ohhh I wanna play too!!
oh man would I love to give it a whirl !
Test drives make me nervous, and since I shot it at KaZoo I will wait for another chance at Compton's. You guys will love this bow. Thanks Bill!
Bill, include me on your list.Would love to give it a go.
The list so far.

Lowell, Izzy will be sending the bow to you. Please contact him with your shipping info.
How long should each person get with the bow before sending it to the next in line? I'm thinking one week each. What say you?
Bill
Thanks for the interest folks.

I would like to take it for a drive.
Yea sign me up. God bless.
Please, sign me up.
Matt
1 week sounds great to me. I will shoot her a week and then forward her on based on this list with insurance as requested.
I think a week would be about right for me. Thanks again Bill!
How bout bowyer's? Can i get it for a day or two? I haven't had an opportunity to shoot one of those yet, and hear a lot of good stuff about them.
If this is cool I'd love to give her a go.
Sexy looking thing, i gotta say that.... Kirk
I would love to get on the list as well. That is an amazing looking bow!
Me too!
I would love to get a chance to shoot this bow.
Greg
Here she is, shes a beaut! I shot it with MFX 500s at 29 1/4" with 245 grn front end. You will stack arrows with this combo. Im curious to see what else works for different shooters. This bow is a fine instrument as with all Zipper products and I dont believe youll diagree.
Missed 5 rabbits with it ,all running shots which isnt hard to do but they were all only off by centimeters. Clipped a runner at the end of the hunt but didnt manage to put anything in the bag. Hunting season is over here so Im hoping someone else can break her in right. Shes on her way west to Clay Walker, have fun. (http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o244/2crazyboys_photos/DSCN2642.jpg)
Are you going to offer it in a 62 or 64 inch length?
Bill,
Add the Kinslow brothers to the list. We'll arrange to be in the same location to save one extra trip to the post-office. Might even get a few other test-drivers in on the festivities. And yes, I think I might have come up with another farmwood idea for a zipstick. :biglaugh: Thanks for the opportunity to try it out.
Andrew
I would love to try it out as well!!!
I think each of you should carve your address in the limbs just so we can see how well traveled this thing gets. Hehe.
if you need another tester I will do it...but honestly would not buy one due to other purchases recently made. LOL
Looks like a good length for turkey hunting out of a blind and would be willing to put it through those paces for our April season if it works out. If not, best of luck with your new model and for everyone...GOOD SHOOTING!
Sexy bow for sure, Bill next project, how about a one piece recurve, I'm thinking of an SXT riser with evolution limb profile, would be hot !!!
Ok Bill, add me to the list. You and I already talked about maybe ordering an SXT this week. Maybe I will have to re-think this!
IT looks like we are getting quite a list.
Andrew, TJ and I were just talking about the dogwood bow.
:D I'll bet you did not know TJ moonlights as a comedian.
Down the road Pete. Down the road. :D
Kirk, we can probably kill two birds with one stone. I have been wanting to stop in and chat with you at your shop. Let's plan for me to shoot her for three days and swing by after work so you can shoot her for three or four and send her on to Rastaman. Let me know if this will work for you.
Put me on the list, but dang it I missed seeing this post early.
LimBender, you will have 2 Zippers in your signature line after you shoot this one! Consider yourself warned!
Benjy
Benjy,
I'm a recent addition to the Zipstick list. :p I want to shoot it so I can get a handle on draw weight, grip and length - that and I WANT TO SHOOT IT.
MEEEEE!!! but if a member get's it from GA i could just pass by and shoot it if ok, to save time and shipping cost...I'm willing to split/pay half shipping cost if OK also i can do it at my place, got a "range" and 4-5 different arrow stiles ...and hats ;) :notworthy:
Keep in mind folks that this bow is one of the near final prototypes.I'm sure if you look close you will be able to see where I cut the grip off of it 3 times! :D It took some doing to get it the way I wanted.

I'm a little confused Bill..... You say you cut the grip off this bow and replaced it 3 times, and yet you are sending it out for a trials? What is the purpose for this?
When I filed the grip on it I did not like the way if felt so I cut it off and put on another piece of wood and filed it out a total of 3 times. This bow has the grip I wanted now.It will make since when you see the grip. IF you look real close you can see where I cut the heal area off of the grip and added the new pieces of wood. This bow will never be sold so it really does not matter. It is a prototype.
Gosh Kirk, I'm not a bowyer and even I had this figured out! :p :D :wavey:
.
I picked the bow up at the post office this morning and shot it this afternoon. First impressions.
Good -
Very smooth draw
Easy to shoot accurately
Very quiet with 582 and 654 grain arrows
Bow is very light in actual weight
No hand shock of any kind
Bad?
I don't like the grip - this is a personal thing since I am a low wrist shooter - no fault of the bow or bowyer
The bow is short for my taste - I would prefer it in a 62 or 64 inch model - again a personal thing.
It felt like it started to stack for me right at 28 inches. I am tall and have long arms so I am drawing it past the 28 inch standard it was made for. Being a 58 inch bow, I expected this to happen. I am not saying it was stacking just yet. I will keep an eye on this and post more as I shoot it during the week.
These are just first impressions, I will provide more updates as the week passes and I shoot it more.
Overall I am giving the bow an 85% positive review at this time with some items to be tested during further shooting. I like the bow and definately think it will be popular with short longbow shooters.

All easy fixes.
The way this bow is built I can put nearly any grip you want on it.That is why I built it with wood for the grip added after the actual bow glue up. :D
The 62" and 64" model will be coming later this year.
As for the "stack". I think you answered that one yourself when you said you prefer longer bows. My scale says its smooth to 30".I know that means little to the way a shorter bow feels to a guy that prefers a longer bow.For what its worth, I'm with you. If I had a 30" drawlength I would want a 62 or 64" bow also.
I'll be looking forward to the rest of your review. Thanks for taking the time to share your first impressions.I really appreciate it.
Bill
Bill,
You are welcome.
I had the day off so I spent some time shooting and chronographing the bow today. I have to say my impressions of the bow have improved from the original 85%
I worked with some different arrows sets today and came up with two sets that were tuned perfectly to the bow. The light set weighed 504 grains. The heavy arrows weighed 620 grains.
To cover my first comments. The grip actually grew on me some today. There is a bit of a hump right where the pad at the base of my thumb rests that I would remove if I was keeping the grip the same. I definately felt like the present grip was comfortable and I shot it fairly well. The two photos are of the first groups I shot with both the heavy and light arrow groups. Both groups were shot at 20 yards.
(http://images.imagelinky.com/1331014940.JPG) (http://images.imagelinky.com/1331014940.JPG)
(http://images.imagelinky.com/1331015009.jpg) (http://images.imagelinky.com/1331015009.jpg)
I am going to recant the stacking comment in full. What I was feeling was the difference in how the bows load is distributed across the bows draw curve, versus the mild R/D longbows I normally shoot. After lots of shots today I can say it was not stacking at my draw as I first thought.
I shot the bow with both arrow sets and then shot two of my bows with the same arrow set ups through the chronograph today. The arrows were fired in groups of 6 for each bow. The arrow velocities in any single group varied by no more than 3 fps between the fastest and slowest arrows for all groups. Each groups velocity was averaged and rounded to the closest fps. I have two different anchor points I use for different draw lengths. I used the shorter one and drew the arrows to 28.5 inches for each group.

The brace height on this bow seems crazy to me. I am wondering if it should be lower. The string does not have a lot of twists left in it to lower it to the 7 or 7.5 inch brace height I would have expected. Bill, let me know if this is correct, or if I need to work from a lower brace height.
I know the bow comparisons are apples to oranges with my bows having a much lower brace height at proper tune, and an additional 10 inches of bow length as well. I found the numbers interesting. I expected the bow to put out higher velocity numbers. Perhaps that is based on flawed expectations. I know the resident engineer at Zipper Bows will be able to help us out with this one.
I took the bow to our trad target league at Archery World in Vancouver tonight. 5 different guys shot the bow. All of them thought the bow was fast ( their impression ). We all agreed the bow has no felt hand shock. We all thought the bow was quiet, as in very quiet. Overall impressions of the bow were positive.
Based on todays shooting I am revising my impression of the bow to a 90% positive. Perhaps Bill will let me shoot a 64 inch prototype with a low wrist grip later this year so I can give it 100%.
My plan is to drive the bow down to Kirk on Wednesday night so he can give her a test drive for a few days and then mail her on to the next shooter within my 1 weeks shooting time. Bill, feel free to let me know if this does or does not work for you. I figured it would be good to kill two local birds with one stone so to speak.
I think everyone else on the list of shooters is going to enjoy shooting the bow.
I knew the brace height would bring up some questions. This bow likes a higher brace height. If I remember correctly I was shooting it at around 7 3/4"-8".If you drop the brace height to 7" you would quickly see that it does not like it. I will not get into all the reasons for this here.I'm sure Kirk will have a longer string on hand. Feel free to play with the brace height and see what you like.
I'm a bit surprised by the your chrono. numbers. Even at nearly 11 grains per pound with the light arrows. From what I have seen with my chrono. testing I expected it to be in the near 170ish area.
Good review and once again THANK YOU for taking the time and effort to give me your thoughts on this one! :notworthy: Its always nice to get input from others on a new design and this one is definitely a completely new animal.
Bill
I figured other folks would weigh in with chrono numbers the shops chrono may read slow. Lighting and other things can impact the readings.
bill,
i'll wait to try one at baltimore.....looking forward to it.....
lee
I stopped in at Kirks shop at Bigfoot Bows tonight to drop the prototype off for him to give it a good work out. We had a great evening chatting. He let me shoot a bunch of his bows. We got into an indepth discussion of how he uses the carbon laminations in his bows.
I shot the prototype thru his chronograph and Kirk double checked my short drawn - draw length. It measured right at 28 inches. Kirk has a really neat set up where he has an infared system for the lighting on his chronograph. You turn the lights down really low to get an accurate reading on each shot.
All six shots with the heavy arrows read 153 fps exactly. The light arrows I varied every other shot from 167 - 165 - 167 - 165 - 167 - 165. for an average speed of 166 fps. The light and heavy arrows were the same ones I shot through the chronograph before.
Zipstick 46 lb @ 28" inches
Light Arrows - Avg. Speed = 160 fps
Heavy Arrows - Avg. Speed = 146 fps
Light Arrows - Avg. Speed = 166 fps
Heavy Arrows - Avg. Speed = 153 fps
This just goes to show you what shooting in different lighting can do to a chronograph reading. Kirk also mentioned and I confirmed in shooting that how far you shoot above the base sensors can impact readings as well.
Kirk has the bow in his shop and will forward it to the next guy on the list before the end of my one week trial period is over.
Kirk, thanks for a great evening.
Bill, thanks for letting us all have a crack at your new prototype. My last set of numbers with the 28 inch draw seems to be right in line with your last post about the speed your were getting. I suspect Archery Worlds chronograph is reading a bit slow, or I shot the bow higher above the sensors.
Well Clay brought it out to the shop tonight. I didn't really play with it too much yet, but I did shoot it a few times. My indoor bag at 10 yards doesn't tell you much, but i can sure feel the foam in those limbs. This is my first opportunity to try a glass/foam limb. i may have to try that combo myself.
judging by the amount of reflex in these limbs, and the existing preload, i won't even try the lower brace heights. it's obvious she's going to perform better at a higher brace.
I'll get her out doors and give her a good work out tomorrow.....
Question Bill: What type of finish material are you spraying? It seems like a good tough finish, if i had to guess i'd say T-Bird or another epoxy base finish. possibly an auto clear coat?
I'm sure I'll have the chance to shoot this one soon.
The finish is Torgenol. Its an epoxy finish.Tough as nails, but a bit of a pain to learn to use well.It took me 2 months to learn to spray it. :banghead: I think it was worth the trouble though. That finish is tough as nails.
Gotta love the feel of foam cores. :D Have some fun with her Kirk.Bowyers are just like everyone else. We all love to play around with different bows.
This just shows us all how tricky a chronograph can be.Thanks again for taking the time to shoot her, Lowell.
Bill
LOL! Spraying that epoxy base finish is seriously unforgiving. i liked to pull my hair out using auto clear coat until i became one with my spray gun.
Looks like the weatherman was good to his word. i got sunny skies to shoot in today. Alright! :jumper: :archer2:
You might want to keep the bow on the west coast and heading south too. No point in zigzagging around-right? Let me know when you are ready to send it to California and I can give you my address. :bigsmyl:

That's not a bad idea. with the cost of shipping it would be better going to California first, then work it east a little hop at a time....
Is that OK with you guys? If so i'll send her your way tomorrow Bjorn.
Ok here's what i did with the bow...
First i took here outside and shot her at 20 to 30 yards. The arrows it liked best were 3555's from 424 - 474 grains. I tried the 500's and some Heritage 150's and they flew pretty decent too. i had to lower the string knock to about an 1/8" above 90 degrees off the shelf to get her shooting where i was looking. This thing really liked a variety of arrow spines. i attribute that to the past center shelf cut out.btw ... It definitely liked 7.78 to 8" brace the best. i saw diminishing returns at 7,5" and 8.5" was quiet, but too high. it started loosing its cast over 8".
My groups weren't a purdy as Clays, so no pictures are forth coming there. :p
I took her inside and put it on the tiller tree with a scale and got the numbers for a DFC graph.
I didn't set up the shooting machine with the chronograph and the high speed video camera, because this bow wasn't really sent to me for an official testing. By late May i should have my facility set up to do this in a professional capacity and will offer my services to bowyer's and private owners alike.
here is the DFC graph. She has a nice smooth draw out to about 29". i could feel the gradual increase when shooting it, but there really wasn't a wall. from 29 to 30" it defiantly starts stacking. at 31" that's it... I DIDN'T DRAW IT PAST THAT POINT.... Once you hit 90 degrees on the string angle finger pinch is an issue.
All in all I'd say you have a decent shooting bow here that will do the job out to 29-30". Love the foam.
Here she is at 28" And 29" of draw.

Thanks for bringing it by Clay. :goldtooth:
Anymore reports on this decent shooting bow? :D
:campfire:
:wavey:
Where did the Zipstick land? Who is next for a report and review?
Good question Mike. Where is Waldo? :bigsmyl:

Double post.
Patiently ( ) waiting for more reviews!
Man, i wish i was gonna be around this next year. I would love to test this bow out. So for now i will sit back and live vicariously through you all.
Hopefully i will be home for Baltimore. Looking forward to seeing you there Bill.
Looking forward to more reviews as well.
Bill
It's a slow train - should be at Rastaman based on the list?
It's in California....
March 12, 2012 08:08 PM from : Bjorn
Hey Kirk the bow arrived today-wow really fast- but the PO was closed by the time I got the slip.
I'm going hunting in the AM; back Thursday so I'll get it then. I'll shoot it for a coupla' days and then send it on to the next guy.
Thanks!
Bjorn
i haven't seen it yet...
Guess that's why they make lists! :readit: :biglaugh:
We do need to follow the order on the list. That way everyone knows what to expect and when to expect it.

It was down right stupid to pay shipping clear across the country when Bjorn was right next door to me. :dunno:
Clay only kept it 3 days before bringing it to me, and i shipped it out the following day. So you should be ahead of schedule if anything.
I asked before i shipped it, and got no response.
:dunno:
some how I keep double posting :banghead:
No biggie. Just a little confusion
I have the Zipstick! At only 46# I wasn't expecting a lot of power but I found some 525 gn 60/65 and at 25-28 yds they were hitting right in the kill zone of my pig target. Very impressive bow Bill.
Smooth and fast!
I'll be shooting it some more today. Whoever is next you're gonna' like it! Anybody in the West?
Looks like its time for an updated list. :knothead: Please tell me if anything is wrong or someone wants to be removed by PM, and I will update the list:
1) Bjorn (currently in possession of the beast)
2) rastaman
3) Igor

Nothing confusing about that list! First come, first served? No confusion. Good report Bjorn. Can't wait to get another try at it in June at Compton's. If there is a line, I'll wait my turn. :D :p
OK rastaman is next; address please.
Thank you Will. You just saved me some headaches. :notworthy:
Thank you Bjorn.I'm glad it is working for you.It is obviously a very different animal but so far I think it is working pretty well.Would you say it compares well with your go to bow?
I need to get some carbon in this bugger and see what she does then.I am anxious to get back to this project but other obligations keep coming up. I have a few minor changes I want to make but nothing major to this one. I still have to get the longer versions sorted out.
Hey Bjorn! i pm'ed you my mailing address. Thanks!
Be in the mail tmrw Randy!
Did the Zipstick make it yet, Randy?
Bill
Hey Bill! i got the bow and it's been crazy since. i've been able to have one shooting session with it so far. What a little pocket rocket! i love the grip! Hopefully i will be able to put it thru its paces this evening. It compares very favorably to all of my other "high performance" bows. i think you have a winner here!
No hurry Randy. I was just curious if it made it yet. I just had two boxes of broadheads arrive damaged. I guess I'm a little gun shy. That's all.
The box was pretty banged up when i got it. I will probably ship it in PVC.
That might be pricey.I'll bet it would take and 8 inch piece of pvc to get that bow in it. LOTS O' REFLEX!! :D
Bill
My go to bow is 64" so 58" a little different; but the arrows found their mark at 25+ yds. I happened to have some 60/65 cedars that were spot on. I was pleasantly surprised. Good little bow-but I'd probably want a longer one-just my preference.
Send it to me and I'll shoot it a week and send it to everyone within 50 miles of me and who cares about the list order. Gotta save on that shipping. LOL
Any new reports? I get ya Don! :D
Bill has a keeper in my opinion! I will be shipping it out Monday or Tuesday!
Bow has shipped out. i ended up shipping in 6 inch pvc so hopefully it is bombproof heading to Glenn (Igor) in Minnesota. Glenn, you may not want to ship it out in the pipe. Just keep it if you don't! You will love the bow!
This is fun following the reports. I am down a ways on the list so keep the reports coming! :campfire:
:campfire:
Rasta
Wow what a bomb proof shipping container....saw the freight on it! :^)
Bow was here when I arrived from work....quick had dinner and ran about 30 arrows through it.
I'm impressed so far ....loved the grip and it is feather light (absolutely the least amount of shock I've experienced in a short bow).
Started out with some 65# spined fir and they all stayed left on me so I brought out some 2018(s) at 29.25" with 175 grains and thought they were might be to stiff (they were readily available and I'd have to fletch some 2016(s)) - much to my surprise (over 12 grains) that dialed them in at 18yds for me and I was loving it.
I'll shoot a bunch this weekend - experiment with other arrow weights etc and take some pic(s). Sorry don't have a Chrono :^(

Glenn
Glenn, thanks for the update. I hope the rest of your testing/shooting goes as well. Can't wait to hear what everone on the list has to say. Nice to get a well rounded group of shooters to chime in. :D
I shot a 56" version of this bow at KY Tradfest yesterday. Bill had a 40# bow shooting 10 gpi at 180+ fps.
TJ and I shot a round w/ Bill they proceeded to play w/ the bow some and I had sat back as I have a 30-1/2" draw and don't much like short bows.
After a few adult beverages and the bow staring at me from the truck bed I picked it up and said "what ya think Bill"...he shrugged and said "go ahead" so we headed to the practice range.
I watched a few other Zipper owners fondle and shoot the bow prior to me finally grabbing it. I half heartedly drew it a few times and finnally brought it back to anchor...when I hit anchor I looked at bill and he was staring at me like..."here we gooooooooo" LOL. My 1st three shots were kinda aprehensive as I was shooting his (or should I say Tracy's) light arrows thru it...W/ my 33" CX 150's w/ 200 up front they flew like darts and the bow performed awesome! The bow is super smooth...I'd have no problem hunting w/ that bow. No stack at all. I don't think Bill would reccomend a guy w/ my draw shooting this short of a bow, but a 60" would be awesome! As some of you remember I wasn't crazy about the grip on the proto Nitro I hunted w/ last year....That is not my perception of this bow..by far! Unbelievable grip! Full throat, full heal, comfortable, no torque...
This bow will be a big seller for Bill when he starts spitting them out...it's crazy! You guys are gonna be impressed!!
Was granted the honor today, at the KY Tradfest, to run some arrows thru Bill's personal Zipstick.
Zipper's following has been steadliy grow and deservingly acquired. Bill's new Zipstick may in fact be his greatest development.
Her attributes were most impressive. I could easily continue on and on however my experience with her would still be subjective.
The Zipstick warrants serious consideration.
Great work Bill.
The two reasons I've never went longbow was short brace height and often slower than my recurve.
This bow has my attention :) Put me on the list, or somebody PM me if it lands in NW Montana.
I want to be put on the list. Someone let me know how. Before anyone says anything yes I am left handed however, I shot right handed long before. I just want to see this bow and shoot it since Bill is building a bow for me this year. Thanks and God Bless!
I also shot it at the tradfest and I agree with Lowebow and Friend, it is a great bow. I really enjoyed shooting it. even while it was just at 40 pounds it was fast. Just another home run for Bill Dunn, but what else is new..........LOL

Thanks for the reviews folks. I really appreciate it. I had a blast with you all this weekend at Tradfest.Unfortunately we have to wait a year to do it again.
Bill
Like Lowbow says, this new bow from Zipper is a fantastic performer. I have all but given up on a one piece bow as I need the extra weight in a riser with my poor shooting. It has more wood in the handle than most one pieces and with only a half dozen shots through it left me rethinking a light weight bow. I have owned a Centaur and for you guys that have shot them I am telling you this Zipstick is as good or better. Bills bow was 40 lbs and I can not imagine what the performance would be from a 50 lb'er.
Zipper-Gazim Is what you'll have if you pic this all new Zipstick up. Its simply a wow when you shoot it.
A couple of first for me with this bow - Foam limbs and a longbow at 58"....IMHO this bow pulled as smooth as any I've shot and I did not find the length to result in any sort of instability - finger pinch or performance issues in fact the more I have shot this Zipper the last 6 days the more I like it.
One thing that really impresses me is how it performs with heavy shafts.
I went back to shooting the 65# spine fir and shot them exclusively for the last 3 days (think I was over drawning them the first day - been shooting my heavier bows lately - :^). They are in the 12+ grain range for this bow and it moved them down range (18yds). I didn't have to adjust much between them and the 1916(s) - 10grains at that range which impressed me for a bow of 46lbs.
Great grip
No hand shock
Performs well at a higher brace (about 8" for me)
Great performance with a variety of shafts/spines
I think this bow is a winner
I'll be sending it out with some regret to CoachA tomorrow enjoy

Igor, Please re-size your pic bud...thanx
Thanks for the review, Glenn. That bow looks good on you!
Bill
Oh Bill you sweet talker you! :^)
Bow has been sent priority mail insured in a PVC tube this morning and the tracking number has been sent to CoachA
thanks for letting me play

I'm glad you included the brace height that worked best for you.
Thanks Igor,
I have a 27.5" dl and am debating between 58" and 60" for this bow. Like 58" for treestand but was leaning to 60". What is your dl?
Limbender, My DL is the same as yours and I shot Bill's 56"er this past weekend. Absolutely no stack or finger pinch. Of course it was only 40 lbs. but I think you will be fine with the 58"er. If you are worried about the bow handling it don't be. Lowebow shot the same 56"er of Bills and his DL is at 30".
Of course all this info from Bills bow and this test bow are from foam core limbs if you go with wood cores you may want to go with the 60"er.
limbender
I draw 28.5 and I tried a couple of long draws 29+ with no stack or finger pinch that I could detect. 27.5 as this bow stands ....go for it!

Glenn
And this is STILL a prototype! Can you imagine how the final bow that goes on sale will shoot? Mindboggling!
I looked Bill's 56" model over at tradfest last weekend and I can definately see a lefthander in my future.
Did she make it yet, Coach?
Bill
Bill, do you start making changes now or wait until the bow comes back? Will the Zipstick be available at Compton's this year?

Thanks Glenn! I'll bet Coach has been busy chasing turkeys.
Mike, The prototype that guys are shooting now is pretty close to the production version. The riser section will be shortened slightly in the 58" model. The 60" will get the same riser length as what is in this 58" prototype. The limbs are also slightly more narrow near the riser on all lengths.Other than that she is pretty much the same as this prototype.
Bill
She has made it and I have shot her. She is one sweet shooting bow. I have a 28" draw and it pulled light and shot heavy. I was very surprised in that short little bow. If I wasnt getting married in July I would put in a order but I have a honeymoon to pay for. ;) Ready to send it on to the next person.
If everybody shoots it for a week, I'll see it right about the opener for bow season :D
I would never take a loaner bow hunting and smoke a whitetail doe with it ;)

Dan,So far it has been going quicker than a week. If anyone has the bow during an open season and wants to take it to the woods while you have it. Feel free to take it on a hunt! I'd love to see it come back with some blood on it.
Have you had a delivery Nakoe? :D
Bill
Sorry for the delay guys. I am a high school baseball coach and I'm just now getting to the post office. It's a great bow and I am sending it today.
The bow is on the way to its next test drive. Again I apologize for the delay. It is definitely worth the wait!!!
No worries, Ryan!

Wow,death hits us all.I lost my sister on the 8th and its been hard the last few days.she had battled cancer for 10 months.Shes with the Lord now.
About the bow.Bill can you send a new string to Mofish as the string has some cuts in it.I will be sending it to him after this week.I put a Bobby Graham string on it and it shoots wonderful.the bow shoots 2016 with 125 pts.like darts bare shafting out to 20yds.arrows were 29.5 inches.I normally shoot recurves and heeling the bow was troubling for me.when not holding the bow with my heel in it I shot it great with great groups.everybody shoots diff so even this Way it shot good for me.I did get best results with 7.5 inch brace height.I will send my string along with bow to Mofish and he can try it as well.Bow is very smooth for a 58 in bow.I draw 29 and felt good.really zips the 2016 and best nock point for me was 5/8 above sg.takes some getting used to the light weight.thanks for letting me shoot it.
Dwight, Im Very sorry to hear that, Our prayers are with you
Thanks Dave,it is really tough when you lose someone. She was the one person that was always there for me.I'm going on bear quest 6 next month. It will be good for me to get some time away.the woods always have a special place in my life.never been to Canada so it's beginning to be sweet just thinking about it.shooting a new bow this week has been great too.hope all you guys are doing well.
It's ready to got to Mofish. I pmed him for his address.
Address pm'ed to see
Mofish,I sent her to you this am.will arrive on wed.Have fun for she shoots 2016's great.
I shot the Zipstick Bill had at Baltimore....for 44# it shot fast and smooth....looks like a winner Bill!
Thanks for letting me flip a few from it! Now keep it away from me at Denton Hill!
Lee
Good seeing you this weekend,Lee.
Mo, pm me your address so I can send you a new string for the Zipstick.
Bill
Bill, pm sent
Bow was delivered today. Let the fun begin.
I am next and I can't wait, after shooting Bill's Zipstick in Harodsburg; I am looking forward to slanging some arrows with the pass around bow.
Zipstick is on the way to Gen273, should be there on Friday or Saturday. This was my first experience with a Zipper and had not shot a bow with foam cores. WOW! This one should be on everyones short list. Bow is smooth as silk at 29" and is quick to boot. Riser fit my hand as if it was custom made for me. Bill, beautiful craftsmanship. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Mofish!
I made a few changes to the form over the weekend. These changes should bring the performance up another notch without giving up shootability. We layed one up from the new form yesterday. I should know something by the end of the week. The main reason for the change in the form is for the longer Zipsticks.
Bill
Train is moving! Nice to hear the bow is getting better every day! Bill, I take it your life motto isn't "perfect is the enemy of good." :p

My bow best be at least super decent. :biglaugh:
Bill, if you need anybody to shoot the new prototype, I know a guy up in Montana.....
Back to slow train a coming,
Gen273, you should have had it at least a week? Any thoughts?
Bill,
I hate to miss out on the opportunity to shoot this bow but I will be gone the entire month of July so please remove my name from the list. Thanks for the opportunity.
Greg
Yes, I had the bow a week and so did Monsterbuck (two weeks between us) we shot it as much as time would allow.
The Zipstick is a smooth shooter just like all of Bill's bows. the grip is spot on and it does slang an arrow with authority. I am still a 3 piece guy, but if a one piece is what you are looking for the Zipstick will be very hard to beat.
I am a Zipper fan, and I think that Bill has a winner here. I spoke with him a week or so ago and he told me he had tweaked the design a little with his latest prototype. Therefore, I am sure that whoever orders a Zipstick will be very, very glad they did.
the bow is on it's way to Raging Water.

Brown A5 is going to shoot one at Denton hill so he does not need to be on the list.
I have been spending some time tweaking the form and formulas. I have managed to pick up another 5 fps while maintaining the sweetness at and after the shot. This thing just keeps getting better! It just might turn me into a 1 piece longbow fan!! Once I have one that I am totally happy with I will swap it out for the prototype you all are shooting now.
Bill
That will be a killer for sure!
The Zipstick arrived in today's mail. I will shoot it this weekend and give a report.
Matt
Bill the "tweaker" :biglaugh:
Can't wait to shoot it!
Gents,
I got the Zipstick.
1) Craftsmanship: everything you would expect from Zipper. A+
2) Grip: Gotta love the way they set the angle of the grip and the finger grooves seem to always fit any hand. A+
3) Speed/Cast: I used the heavy arrows I use on my heavy bows. This bow did a very nice job of flinging an arrow at 14 GPP. A+
4) Quiet: Yep, whisper quiet. A+
5) Looks: Well, you know Zipper. Life is too short to shoot an ugly bow! This one is really nice. A-
6) Accuracy: Well, here are the very first 3 arrows I shot for 17 yards. A++

As a Hill Style Longbow Guy, the Zipstick is the real deal in a R/D med wrist grip set up. Color me impressed.
I will take this to a 3 D shoot in the AM and let my buddies give it a whirl. I will get some YouTube video shots and post.
Matt
I am next in line and will put a post up when she arrives followed by a report when I send her off. Man I'm excited. I think it might be an expensive tryer outer if it is as great as everyone has said so far.
Knowing that you are a Hill style guy I was not sure how you would like this bow, Matt. I'm glad it worked so well for you. Thanks for taking it for a spin.
How did the 3D shoot go?
Bill
Hey guys I got the bow today, apartment was closed yesterday so it took me a few days to get her. Man is she pretty though, beautiful bow. I haven't had a chance to run any arrows threw her yet but will tomorrow. Will report back tomorrow.
Alright guys I only got to run about ten arrows through it the other day, my dog ran into something that cut his leg open pretty good so I had to come home and clean it up. I will send a pm to the next person in line and get it shipped out to them tomorrow or tuesday by the latest. What little I did get to shoot I really liked it. I just about found the right knocking point and was going to try few different weight points to really get the arrows flying good. She is really pretty and smooth, awesome bow.
Yeah, I want in on this deal.

She arrived today! Gotta run to the post office!
I put the zipstick in the mail this morning. Hard to part with it, truly. Xia_emperor Pm'd me and has to pass on reviewing the bow, so she is headed south to LimBender. Enjoy!
She is a great shooter. Extremely quiet and accurate. The grip is identical to my SXT and Zipper Extreme recurves and I could easily move back and forth between the two. I would describe the zipstick feeling like a hybrid recurve/longbow. Great grip, smooth shots with no handshock, and scary quiet. Bill has a winner here for sure.

YES the brace height was like 1.1/2" low --BUT how in the... you saw that?
the target points were 100-125 GR on arrows from 340-400-500 spine deflection , with 5" shield and parabolic left wing fletched by me ,
BUT tomorrow will adjust the brace height to 7-8"
and shoot more
That was the BEST pass around bow review EVER!!!!

I just had to adjust the brace height, fix the nock...
out of 3 strings 2 are not OK to shoot , so i took the brass nock from one and installed it on the good string , in the right place at the right brace height , i think

Gabe, man that is a hell of a review! I almost felt like I was fixing up the bow, but of course you know I didn't.
I also like the scenery - BMW 2002 (?), assistant and bamboo jungle.
I also noted the 2 broken strings and thought the brace height wasn't good, but my SXT is a short brace height.
Let us know how the tuned up bow shoots!
Gabe, you need my coordinates?
And here I was worried the bow would land in The Flathead during season.

Herndont,
PM or e-mail me coordinates for the bow when I'm done playing with it. Between work and getting stuff together for Elk season I'll be plenty busy. I'll likely only have it 3-4 days before it heads your way.
Pm sent sir! Thanks
My turn is coming up, but I'm gonna be chasing elk in New Mexico for 10 days, so I guess I'll pass. jshperdue is next according to page 13.
Lippe
Well, it landed in NW Montana today.
I'm about to shoot it here shortly. My first impressions are, I might have found a longbow I can get along with.
What can I say. I guess for a longbow, its pretty cool. I'm just a Schafer recurve kind of guy. I definately noticed some stacking compared to what I'm used too
It did shoot to where I was looking though. My first 2 arrows from 17ish yards (back of the kitchen)

Thought it'd be faster with a 425 grain arrow at my 27" draw.
