I have been away from the forum for a while, it seems it has taken a thief to bring me back.
I came home around 5:30 tonight to eat dinner and then go to the trad league tonight, I walked right past my bow on my way in the house hanging in the garage. I figured that I would only be a little while so I left the garage door open. I went to leave at 6:15 and my bow and quiver were gone! Hard to belive but thats the only thing they took, and it was hanging right next to the door to go into the house. Best I can figure is it was some kids walking by because you really can't see where it was hanging from the street. I call the cops and filed a report, I will be watching the pawn shops and craigslist to see if it comes up. She's a JK Traditions Kanati 56" 55#@26", I'll post some pictures of her later if you wouldn't mind keeping your eyes open. I live in colorado springs. Thanks for letting me vent a little, I think I am still in shock, the full rage has not hit yet.

Don't think someone is maybe playin a cruel joke on you do you???
That sucks!!!
Best of luck, hope you get her back!
That's a shame. Good luck in it's recovery. :(
Hope she comes up unharmed!
That's a shame it takes a real low life to go and steal someone's trad bow. Sure hope you get her back.
Hate to hear things like this. Do you have the serial # thats on it? I will keep an eye open up this way.
I feel for you!
There has to be a hot coal burning in your gut about now and a sense of being violated.
I am truly sorry that you're having to go through this.
I hope it turns up and soon.
God bless,Mudd
I don't think its a joke, gone on a little to long to be funny!
Thanks everyone, I hope she comes home too.
Heres a couple of pictures.

If some kid took it to play with it, the good news is at at 55#@26, they're not going to enjoy it for long. That's a bow for someone who shoots trad.
Check **** and your area Craigslist for it.
Set up a Google alert for "Kanati longbow 55#@26"
Marco
I didn't even mention the quiver was one I made myself! I steaming the more I think about it!

That was the auction site, Tradgang blanks it. Set an alert there as well.
Marco
Sorry to hear about the theft of your bow and homemade quiver. You may get it back if you watch the pawn shops, ####, etc. Don't give up. It does burn in your gut. Can't forget it.
Put an add in the paper "Wanted" traditional bows of any type, design etc etc and let the thief call you! Leave only a phone number in case the thief knows your name but not your number. Long shot but it can and has happened.
Brent
I watch all of craigslist, will keep my eyes open for that bow.
Sorry for such a shameful and unfortunate event.
Sorry to hear that, bud. I really hope it turns out well.
that sucks man, i hope you can recover it.
Hey!!!! those kids could live some where near by. You should think about putting fliers in you neighbor mail boxes and hope for the best!!!
Man that bites,I hate a thief.Hope you get it back.
TTT and good luck
Thanks for all the well wishes, i was just in the garage and noticed that they also took all of my broken arrows, about another 2 dozen. Seems like they were going after just the bow stuff. I will be taking alot of your advise, flyers are being made and I will be going door to door tonight. I'd hate to think that another trad archer took them, but thats the way it is looking now,I sure hope I am wrong.
I really feel for because I was in the same boat a couple of years ago. The difference was I wasn't home I was at a 3D shoot and had to go to the bathroom, when returning found both the bow and side quiver gone. The thing that gets my goat is no one saw anything!! I still get mad when thinking of it. Just know what your feeling my friend.
Sorry, that has to make you boil. Hopefully whatever needs to happen will.
I really hope you recover your bow and quiver. Might not hurt to check some of the other bow sites with classifieds as well.
Post flyers at the local bow clubs/dealers and ranges(and I hate to say it you may want to offer a reward)
 I hope you get it back soon
I know how you feel. I could make a very long list of the things stolen from me over the yrs...a bow would be on it...and it's really a helpless feeling. I know I just wanted to catch them in the act. Although I'm sure it's best I didn't.
I would start looken in the woods at the end of some streets near the house. Once they realize they can pull it back they will probably stick the arrows in some trees and toss the bow.you cant carry it around the streets if your a kid.
I lost one at the Baltimore shoot last year right out of my booth at night. it's a sick feeling.
believe it or not they found the guy, but he didn't have the bow in his possession, and they couldn't prove that he stole it. Sad but true... I'm still pissed off about it.
sorry for your loss bro....maybe you'll get lucky.
That's a shame Matt. Do you have another bow to shoot? If not send me a pm. It's not much but I can send you a bow and some arrows.
makes me sick to hear this
Had some bows stolen from me in a burglary a few years ago including my Rocky Mountain Recurve with 2 sets of limbs, a beautiful one piece Bruin, a '70 Super Kodiak, several other Bears, a Pearson 2-piece recuve, and worst of all, 3 self bows built by my father in the 1930's. They stole 2 really nice Herter's bows, and 2 great Herter's leather quivers, both stuffed with finished aluminum arrows etc. Just thinking about it fills me with rage.
I have never found any of my bows and would love to have them back---would also love to remove the thief from this planet or at least make sure he will never be able to reproduce.
Sorry for my rant, and I hope you recover your equipment and that the thief is identified and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Joe
Steadman-thanks for the offer, luckily I have a couple more bows, lucky thing is my Mohawk was hanging right beside it in a bow sock and they didn't touch it.
On the bright side(if there is one) I have a dozen raw shafts waiting to be finished, I guess I have some motivation to get them done quickly.
Leave the garage door open and place a trail camera up and see if the thieves come back. Heck I would place a trail cam facing the street and see who looks suspicious, thieves are like arsonists they always return to the crime to see whats going on.
I would start looking in near by pawn shops!
As soon as they realize they can't pull the bow they're going to sell it.
Unfrotunately you can't trust most people nowadays.
I second the idea of checking around in any woods nearby, etc.. I had something stolen out of my car one night that the thieves ditched in some tall grass in an empty lot. The police came, checked around the area and found it.
Hope your stuff turns up. That is a bummer. Can't hardly leave anything open or unlocked these days.
that bites. I know here when my stuff was stolen in july 2011 they said the pawn shops hold the stuff for 3 months before they can put it out to resell. so dont start snooping too soon. hope you find it.
Hope you find it Matt. The Mohawk isn't too bad of a back up :) If you need anything, shoot me a pm
Have you got any "Local Suspects" that You or some Trusted Neighbors could keep a Close Eye upon? You hate to think that a Neighbor would do such a Thing, but People will do some Outlandish and Unthinkable Things for Money these days!!
My Heart goes out to you My Friend, and IF they ever DO catch the Bow Thief, HossWhippin' then Tarred & Feathered is too good for 'em!!
I truely Hope you recover your Equipment, and in the Same Shape it was Thugged from you as well!

Now This is why i love this site and the great people on it!
I like the idea of checking the local woods, creeks, empty lots etc. If it was kids, they might think it looks cool but, won't be able to shoot it so they may stash or dump it. They probably don't want to take it home to Mom and Dad either. Very few people would know the value of a trad bow. Good luck. Theives suck.
I'd be very pissed...love my bows, one more reason I also like dogs with loud barks and handguns...
I live in the Springs, too. I'll keep an eye out for ya. It does sound like kids to me...
Sorry for your loss! as bob said, watch the pawn shops.
That really stinks !!! :banghead: Sure hope she shows back up.
Bill
That is the reality of the society we live in, no accountability and no consequences. I will promise that a theif would not want me to catch him stealing mine or anyone elses bow.
pm sent
We once had a few things taken from our garage. We got it back when someone found a "fort" that some kids had built on the woods not far from our house. They had been stealing anything and everything. It was quite a treasure Trove.
Hope you get your bow back.
Sorry for your loss. I know the feeling, Sucks being violated.
Very nice Steadman! Geat folks here.
Sorry for your loss, hope you get all your stuff back.
The feeling you get when someone does this to you is something I will never forget. Sorry to hear of your loss and hope it comes back to you soon.
I agree, you can't beat the folks here on Trad Gang. No new news except Jason at JK Traditions was able to get me the serial number, so I will add that to the police report so if they try to pawn it the number should show up. Talked to we few more neighbors, but no luck.
There are no woods around the house, in the middle of suburbia.
I have a suspect, but nothing firm to go on, I'll just watch the little turd and hopefully get a glimpse of my bow. I'll keep you all posted.
I hope you find it!!!!
Sorry to hear about the loss! Will keep my eyes open. Go to the pawn shops around town pretty often and will check out craigslist to see if it turns up there. Good luck on getting her back!
I second the trail cam idea, they had to be your neighboors do to the time frame and the fact that they had the nuts to do that in daylight, and the fact you were only gone a few minutes.
It would be like a baitpile, the open garage, i bet you would get'em.
Kids cant keep there mouth shut these days. See if you know someone in a school. Im a janitor at a school we see and hear about most anything and kids like to show there stuff off in a parking lot. Or they mite know a kid that lives near you know for trouble. Just a idea.
John
Make some fliers with the picture of the bow and post'em in the neighborhood than bring one to each of the neighbor's especially the kids parents. He might be walking around the house with it.
Stolen Archery Bow and Quiver

Reward if found

DANG Redfeathers, I never thought of that! He might try to sell it - good thinking!
I'd bait 'em. To me criminals are the only thing I have no problem with baiting. Good luck with your search, sorry this happened. Keep us posted.
-Jeremy :coffee:
If you or some of your neighbors share Facebook put a post on there about your missing bow. Be detailed, If kids are walking through your neighborhood someone was bound to have seen them. Really hope you get your stuff back.
i know the feeling had it happen to me a few years ago my fliers turned out to be a good thing and got mine back a couple weeks later for a small fee.hope your bow returns home
