6 fine fellas came to Hog Heaven.
Two from NY (steve Heltstowski and matt perrault) two from VA( Vaughn mayo and Steve ) and two from SC upstate-david Schull and Ira Parnell )
Rain to beat the band, high wind, and a 25 degree drop in temps between Friday morning and Saturday morning but it didnt stop them from seeing 100 or so pigs and one got lucky and hitched a ride with Ira Parnell! A surprise visit from Terry Greene on Saturday with two folks I had not met- Curt Cabrera and Doug Johnson was icing on the cake!
They had some good luck also!
That smile on Ira's face says it all, right?

Oh yeah!
Just over 2 weeks now, and I will have my first taste of hog hunting.
Awesome Ray! Can't wait to get down to your place next winter.
You'd think there would be a sleeveless shirt on that feller with the mohawk :bigsmyl:
Congratulations to Ira!

Great stuff as always Ray. I'm dying to shoot some hogs.
Conratulations to Mr. Parnell on a fine looking hog! I always enjoy seeing your pictures Ray. Thanks for sharing.
30 DAYS TO GO!
I know where that picture was taken. I can't wait to get back down there Memorial Day weekend. Did you get the deposit yet?
Gil
received, Gillie-my man! Looking forward to that 3 1/2 day hunt with you...so far you are the only one booked...so it might just be the three of us!
I am trying to get some Yankees from up here to go. If I knew you would have one of the shoulder roasts for us I may be able to entice someone.
Gil
We're going to have TWO roasts, buddy.
Did you see I posted the recipe in the cooking and grilling forum?
No I didn't but I am going to look right now.
I also picked up a couple of strops and nickelson files. I am bringing a bunch of old grizzly and zwickey broadheads I have down with me.
It is worth the trip to learn from you how to sharpen a broadhead that sharp, that fast with a file and a strop. I can get them sharp but it is hard bringing a generator and my polishing wheels on a backcoutry elk hunt.
Heck if I can learn this from you I will have a reason to get one of those Bear knife and file sets to take hunting. Ha!
Gil
Very nice!Congrats.
