Title: String Maker Needed For Centaur Archery.
Post by: Jim Neaves on February 26, 2012, 04:14:00 PM
My current string maker has had an accident and smashed his right hand. He will be out of commission for awhile but I still need bowstrings. I have a few criteria that have to be met before I consider having someone build a string for my bows. After testing different string materials for years, I have decided on Ultracam and the strings must be pre-stretched for an hour between 250 and 300 psi to eliminate the constant unstringing of the bow and twisting up the string. Also, the center served area MUST be served in the same direction of the twists of the string. I have other specifics that I will talk to you about when you contact me. Please do not respond unless you are already set up with a stretching jig and scale to accurately control the process. This is most likely a temporary situation but could work into a long term position depending upon the gentleman's condition whom is currently making my strings. Please contact me at 406-360-2153 or email me at centaurarchery@yahoo.com
I look forward to talking with you.
P.S. I will be needing alot of strings.

Wow!
If I were any kind of consistent, I could retire, move to Montana and twist strings in between hunting seasons!

Oh, past my bedtime, I must be dreaming.
