Thanks, hope the weather is great and the event is running smothly.
Anybody hear anything yet? It was THIS weekend, wasn't it? :goldtooth:
Been there the last 2 day the weather was cool and windy yesterday but today was really nice sunny a little cool not as windy, there was a great turnout both day i think, the course was set up great.
Good to hear there was a good turnout and that folks were having fun. Nice to see Compton's expanding their horizons.
If you're talking about the spring fling up at Tannehill it look like everyone was having a good time and it's great to have an event this size in your back yard......stabow
That's the one. I belive it is the first Compton satellite/collaboration event outside of their annual rendevous in Michigan. Hoping for success and great results for the vendors, shooters, and organizations involved.
Can anyone estimate the crowd size? I was supposed to be there, but My mom and dad decided to move this weekend :help:
!["" "[dntthnk]"]("graemlins/dntthnk.gif")
and needed help. Maybe next year...
I just got back from there and I thought is was a great event. Its great to talk to fellow tradgangers in person instead of just reading there treads. I do wish I could have stayed for joebucks seminar though because if I plan to harvest a turkey later this spring I will need all the help I can get. IMHO, great event!
I spent the day there and will be spending a few hours more tomorrow before heading home. Have met lots of great folks, spent time talking with the Asbells, Byron Fergason, Steve Turay, Chuck Deshler and others. Picked up my new Northern Mist classic and got to spend the whole day shooting with my daughter.
Will post a full report with pics tomorrow night!
I have been there both Friday and Saturday, going back tomorrow. I would guess maybe 500 people. Courses are set up very well, a ton of fun.
That's great was wishing for a great turnout, so many people laboring to make this a great event and the it being the first Crompton satellite event. Kudo's to Terry Harris and others :clapper: :clapper:
What about food, vendors, weather?

Congrats on your new bow! I heard several guys talking about vendors letting them try a bow on one of the courses. Good stuff!!
I also joined Comptons while I was there. Went ahead and did the 3 year membership so I wouldn't forget to renew. :bigsmyl:
Steve, It was nice to meet you. I hope you enjoy that Mist, I know you will.
My family and I had a wonderful visit to Tannehill and want to thank all the people that stopped by our booth and to Terry and his crew for a wonderful event.
If you want a fine shoot to attend next year,I would put this one on your radar.
Thank you,
CTT

We wanted to apologize for not being able to make the event and having to cancel at the last minute. David and I got hit hard by a nasty virus and just couldn't travel as planned. I hope it was a good event for everyone and we hope to see many of you at other events this summer.
Sound like the event was a big hit and look for us in 2013

Was awesome meeting you as well Chuck. I am REALLY enjoying the new Mist, thank you for the well wishes. Will keep in touch!
the Buchanans had a blast. got to see a lot of old friends and made some new ones. Batman and his son William camped with me with Robtattoo and Whip shared the fire along with John Dill and Mike Harris keeping the Rob Koolaid making the circle. We had some Great Laughs and I didn't burn the Butts. hopefully I padded Mike Yancys pocket enough to pay for his gas back! Boys slept with the pelts
bottomline.......I would go to a cock fight if Terry Harris was organizing it. He is the MAN! This is a well oiled machine he does. I strongly suggest to Compton to REPEAT.
Compton.....thanks so much Whip and Teresa Asbell for inviting me to do my Turkey Seminar. like I said at the end of my seminar. I encourage everyone to join Compton. they are our National voice for Traditional Bowhunting. Just nock out a three membership......GOBBLE GOBBLE
It was a great gathering all right. Terry and crew did a great job as did the Compton folks.
I was set up right beside Tony Kinton of Primitive Archer, across the walkway from the Asbells, catercorner from Mike Yancey and back to back with Byron Ferguson. I think Terry was trying to infect me with the need to keep bring my wares to these things.
Great 3-D courses and I really enjoyed getting to meet Erik Krewson and his wife, and talk with Ted Wills about Howard Hill. Met lots of other great folks. It did amaze me how many knew nothing about Reparrows. That's my fault!
Jim
Just getting home myself,,, I drug up late today as I was not in a hurry to get home..... Wife out of town so not in a hurry...
Tired now but I will say to be a vendor at my first "modern"
Event was the best experience I could hope for...
Wasn't sure what to expect really but I had a blast and met a lot of great people.
Great to meet up with people I've talked to on here and very much appreciated the comments on my goods I had brought to the event...
Glad to see most trad guys like all OLD stuff LOL
Ken Bueche
I had a blast! I was able to finally put a face with a name with people that I had only talked to via the Internet here on tradgang.
Great Event. Best part (my opinon) was having the three separate courses - kept things from getting backed up it seemed. Also WHAT A GREAT GROUP OF VENDORS!!!
Outstanding Terry - simply Outstanding!
best regards
