Really interested in trying one of these bows. I jam seeing some with heavier poundage and I am trying to see what you guys think of the draw cycle on these bows. Simple question is do they feel lighter or heavier for their given poundage? Some bows are so some that they feel lighter to me and others feel heavier than I expect.
What would you say about these?
Thanks
Mike
I don't think mine feels heavier but I do think butter is in the recipe as mine is smoooooth  :clapper:
I concur with drewsbow. They are great bows.
Mine is 56" 49#28 and compared to all the other bows I have in that # range it feels lighter/ smoother even when the others are longer in length. The exception would be my Tree Stick LB, it is the smoothest bow I have ever shot.
The TC is a great bow and fun to shoot.
They most definitely have a smooth draw unlike some others that feel heavier than the marked weight. I've had five and ALL have been that way.
That might be all I need! Just a couple pounds will work
56" 49@28 will do anything you need to do short of big bears. Good luck.
I had mine made 53@26 and feels as smooth and easy to draw as a few 50@28 bows I've had!
Guy changed his mind and will not sell bow to me!! At least this tells me I can look at a little higher poundage bows.
Thanks
mine is 41@28 and I draw it out to 31 and itsvery smooth . I have no dought I could take down any critter I want with this bow and my heavy arrows.
Just yesterday a friend of mine who normally shoots a Pearson Mustang Rec. with 50# tried my Thunderchild (60 at his draw) and looked at me astonished "You sure its got 60#??? Doesnt draw much harder then my own..." were his words.
I cant really compare it as i havent shot many other quality bows in that poundage but its plenty smooth enough for me.
Note: I draw 30" and am shooting the 58" version.
All I need to do now is find one....
drewsbow, do u shoot the 56" or 58" with your 31" draw? i draw 30" and am trying to decide on which length i want
56" :0)
I believe there is one the classified now......stabow
I've recently acquired a few Thunderchilds, silky smooth draw is an understatement! I won't even try to understand the physics, but my draw is almost 30" and the 56" handles it with ease... I just got a 58" and it is almost to smooth... Makes me think I could go to a 54", but I'd have to ask Jim on that one...
Awesome hunting bow, has all the requirements I need... short, quiet, smooth, dead in the hand at the shot, stable, and plenty of performance. The 2-piece option is a real plus too! The 56" Thunderchild is 7" shorter then my beloved 62" Shawnee longbow when they are layed next to each other strung... 7"!
These little performers made me do a lot of rethinking...
I purchased a 56 inch 53 lb tc td off of ermont, and I am loving it.I have shot and owned many high end longbows and the thunderchild is one of the best I have shot.Yes it is smooth, and quiet. The grip fits my hand perfectly. What I like the best about the bow is the 2 piece td it may be going elk hunting this year.Best of luck with your search for one they are great bows
