I have a custom bow that had a dry dull looking finish, it almost looked like bare wood. Was going to send it back to the Boyer and have it refinished but decided to try some past Minwax Paste wax on it. I went over it lightly with steel wool and put several coats of the wax on. Couldn't be happier the finish has a nice sheen to it ant the wood grain really shows up now. Saved over a hundred dollars and didn't have to be without the bow for a couple of weeks.
Any chance of some pics? And does the wax have any tack to it?
Pics X2... :readit:
Sorry no pics, my PC and camera aren't speaking to each other

There is no tack at all. Takes about 15 minutes to do each coat it's about like waxing a car. Put on the wax wait a while and buff it with a soft cloth. I did go over it with the steel wool between coats. You can quit after the steel wool ,makes a nice satin finish that way.
I'll have to try that...thanks!
