The 2012 Joan Leanord Memorial Bunny Hunt for St. Jude's was a great success. It was a small turnout, but over $2,000 was raised for the kids at St. Jude's.

Ill add some pics after work. As usual it was awesome. Both my sons had some fun along with some much needed outdoor activity.
:archer:
Heres a couple. My new favorites. My sons Nate, Lil Fella and Noah, Big Fella. (http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o244/2crazyboys_photos/DSCN2654.jpg) (http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o244/2crazyboys_photos/DSCN2649.jpg)Nathan is starting to shoot like Ishi. Wonder if he'll perfect it and stick to that style?
Lots of fast action and snap shooting at them there bunnies! Got ten misses under my belt that weekend and had a wonderful time with a good bunch of fellas.
... mike ... :D ...
A pic of the youngus. Before any web police get their hackles up, this was a staged pic. The little guys got up there for pics after we arrived at our area. (http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o244/2crazyboys_photos/DSCN2651.jpg)
Here is a planning session by the hunt master in preparation of a hedgerow push. (http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o244/2crazyboys_photos/DSCN2646.jpg)This is at the end of the hunt and is always good for some fast paced bunny shooting insanity. At least one bunny is taken from this drive every time.
This was taken in the "Island Of Trees". This is thick but there are thicker places. (http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o244/2crazyboys_photos/DSCN2640.jpg)
I love this spot. There is a cut stone foundation and many of these beams which appear to be from a cabin. Times caught up with it but it still has value to a wandering mind. Cant imagine how it was back when it was 1st built by skilled craftsmen who are long gone. That bow is the new Zipper Zipstick prototype. Man is that bow ever quick and down right beautiful. Ill be giving my impressions of it soon. I took 6 shots at bunnies during the weekend and all of them were close as you can get without killing a rabbit. Took hair off of one but he managed to run past at least 3 more folks to escape. (http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o244/2crazyboys_photos/DSCN2642.jpg)
(http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o244/2crazyboys_photos/DSCN2637.jpg) Terry, Mikey, Cuz and Pete just having a good old time.
Noah and his bunny hunting pal Pete. Ive seen the hunt together for 3 years or so at The bunny Hunt and it bloes my mind how much theyve grown. I even overheard them telling some blue jokes. :scared: (http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o244/2crazyboys_photos/DSCN2638.jpg)
Just something that caught my eye, this is a stump that points straight up and for as old as it looks is still suprisingly standing. (http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o244/2crazyboys_photos/DSCN2641.jpg)
Looks like you fellas had a good day, wish I could have been there.Way to go on raising 2K for the kids.OHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHH!!! :notworthy:
Cool pics! Looks like everyone was having a good time.

Where is Shawn? I haven't seen him on here lately?
Here is a pic of the bottom of "Rabbit Valley". Most drives here produce a vulgar display of rabbitness. The air is full of frantic screams, laughter and "Theres One Coming Your Way!!!!!" "Did you get Him!!!" I would never believe how many rabbits are in there until I saw it with my own eyes.
This drive signals the end of a hunt and really gets me down. Some of the people on the hunt are true friends even though I only see them once or twice a year.
Well, it was as good as it gets again. This is like Christmas to me and Im always sad to see it end. (http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o244/2crazyboys_photos/DSCN2650.jpg)
Thanks Shawn and Cindy and the rest of the clan. You make us all feel like we're home and that we are all family. Thanks for making it happen Bro!
I realy did well in the raffle drawing. I won the grand prize, a sweet 64" 49# @28" rawhide backed osage bow with flipped tips made by my buddy Glenbo. I cant believe how good it shoots, its absolutely a work of art. I also won a sweet leather quiver and a striper fishing trip. But the greatest prize of all was spending a weekend hunting with my sons. It doesnt get any better than that! :campfire:
It was like usual a great trip. I was glad to be there for a few hours.
I managed 2 shots at rabbits and a some much needed laughs.
It was great to see everyone again, I wish I was in a better state of mind at the time but am thankful to have been invited.
Unlike Izzy, Cuz, Pete, swamp buck and Homer :readit: , my only winning ticket was to have a friend named Mikey. :campfire: Thanks a again Mike.
But much Like Izzy, just being able to share with friend s and know its also for a bigger cause is enough a prize for me.
Also Thank you to Shawn and Cindy for again, opening their home to me. :notworthy:
Thank you...Sindy and Shawn, for allowing me the opportunity to hunt and mingle with good folks, through the mystical art of archery,,,not to be side tracked ,for its main purpose ,,,the fund raiser, for St,Judes kids,,,God Bless u and your family, and all who took part.
I had a great time there again. I had 6 or 7 misses including one right at my feet hauling the mail after Shawn hit him. Can't wait to do it again. A great bunch of folks to spend some time with and Shawn and Cindy couldn't be more hospitable.
For me, it's 147 miles one way to be with all you fellas... Wouldn't miss it for the world! To say thanks to Shawn and Cindy would not be enough... So I'll just add... "Proud to be a part of this get together and love you all!"
Sending $$$ to St. Jude well, makes it that much better. May God Bless All Those Children...
... mike ...
Looks like a great time for all who attended. Wish NY was not so far away.
