about 10:00 am this morning at work, I got my right index finger caught between a macine motor and side frame that I was repairing.....it stopped hurting in a split second and blood was every where so I assumed that my right index finger was GONE !!!! wrapped it up and was taken to the hospital where they looked at it, x rayed and gave me the news......the doctor who knew that I am a bow shooter ,told me ..." it's not to bad and I can save it all"...long story, short.......compression tissue damage, 5 stitches inside, six outside...no broken bone.....said that I should be shooting again in three or four weeks.....THANK YOU LORD !!!!!!
God is good.....all the time T Lail! What a blessing there wasn't more damage. May still be a little tender in 3 to 4, but that surely beats the heck outta 3-4 months!
Oh wow Tony!!! I'm glad you're gonna be ok. I know that had to give you a terrible scare. Again, VERY glad it's going to be ok.
Gerald
Very glad there was no permanent damadge!
Good news. should have asked the doctor to put you out till after turkey season.
Good news. I'm glad that you'll be back at it instead of "backin' out of it".
Yeah, that's always a scary moment, especially for those whom hand dexterity is a big deal. I work with my hands and have had a few close calls. I've had buddies who weren't so lucky. Thank God you're o.k.!

x2 on God is Good all the time! Praise the lord you still have a string holder
Find an Occupational Therapist, preferably a Certified Hand Therapist in the area. Rehab will help your recovery.
When I was 16 working in a gas station, I told a guy his fanbelt was lose,He said, WHAT? I said "YOUR FAN BELTS LOOSE" and pointed to it with my gloved finger (the engine was running). Bad mistake, finger went between the generator and the belt 3 times before I could pull it out.
Lesson learned. Don't point!!! :D
True story
Bad start, good ending, to the story.
Glad all is OK....don't rush it.
Dang Tony sorry about your finger! Hopefully you'll be ready to shoot come NCTAC time!
Been there, table saw. Glad it is going to be fine. Take your time have them check for infection.
Tony, I hate to hear that bud. I hope you have a speedy recovery and all goes well. See you at the next CTA shoot next month.
Great luck partner! Good news.
Sometimes I think the careless get an extra dose of protection. My wife was mowing the lawn when I was out of town on a business trip. She reached under the rotary mower to pull out a clump of wet grass. She felt a hard blow to her fingers and was afraid to look down, knowing some of them would be gone. The slanted flat of the blade whacked her a good one, but didn't even break the skin. I think she did it on purpose to make sure I did the lawn mowing before leaving in the future.
thanks to all for your messages....you know I have done large format service work for 25 years now......the first 23, no issues at all, this is my second injury in two years....makes me think....am I getting too old or a little bit careless...either way, I am sitting here at home today doing a lot of thinking......Barry my goal is to be ready for NCTAC..... y'all have a good one :archer:
Glad to hear you're gonna be okay. Just took a guy to the hospital yesterday that ripped his forearm open with a chop saw, yikes.
Glad you're alright and you'll be ready for turkey's.

Hope you have a speedy recovery
Wow, glad it was good news for you, here's hoping the finger heals up fine.
Tony, take care of that finger, don't want my "range setting' buddy disabled.
Praise the Lord!!! I hope you are shooting again soon.
