These 2 wool garments this past weekend at the Michigan Bunny Stomp. They are an Evening Stand Green Pullover and a Silent Stalker green Woodsman Classic zip-up. The problem was that when they arrived at my house Friday, a well intentioned neighbor snatched them and some other packages that were left in front of my garage, he felt they were too visible to the road and might be stolen. I didn't see the fellow until this morning, and well here we are, a couple days late.
So I made a command decision.....
Was it ...send them to me!!!!! :biglaugh:
:saywhat:
Aaww thanks buddy. My birthday's not till August. I'll tell my neighbor not to touch the package when it arrives. :biglaugh:

.....somebody please PM me with this young mans name and address. I will ship both wool garments to him, with these simple stipulations:
1.He give one of them to the guy (or gal) who has most influenced his participation in traditional archery.
2. He do a little research and learn what he can about the Asbells, and traditional archery history. Teresa and Fred have done so much more for us than provide some great wool....and they will be the first to modestly tell you about the accomplishments of those before them, like thier dear friend Glenn St Charles, etc.
I know this young man only as "CJ", and he was with me on an epic run that Daisy had on what must be the sprintingest rabbit in Michigan. For almost 2 hours this young man and I manuvered through some pretty thick cover, trying to intercept the bunny. We both missed (more than once), but in that 2 hours I observed a young man totally thrilled with the hunt and the challenge. I watched him trim shooting lanes, and apply true woodsmanship to the task at hand. Whomever "brought him up" has done a great job.
Get me his address, I will ship this stuff today!!
Does that mean that they were just your size Roger?....lol J/K
:campfire:
God bless,Mudd :archer:
PS: The Asbells are great folks(yes both of them) but Teresa pours her heart out in the making of some great hunting clothes. Fred just happens to be one of the greatest teachers of instinctive shooting and if not for him I most likely wouldn't be where I am today in traditional archery. He does some good tough testing of Teresa's products too!...lol
 :clapper: Outstanding Idea....well Done!!
Way to go Roger. I can say that Teresa has had a tremendous influence on my traditional journey going back 20 years. yep, much more than wool! :clapper: Congratulations CJ!

Great decision Roger!! I too was very impressed with this young man and agree with you completely!! He seemed to be a great young man, very enthusiastic and eager to learn. The future of our sport right there and I believe in good hands. Roger is also one of those people that is great for our sport, had a great conversation with him walking in from the hunt and this does not surprise me in the least, great job Roger.

Congrats all the way around. :)
:notworthy: Good command decision!!
His name is Ken and his address is...Aw shucks, I can't do it-wouldn't be right! I guess I'll have to buy one when they're available again.
Sounds like he is very deserving, good idea.
Well, we got it figured out. Thanks to everyone for the supportive comments. This may work out better than I thought. There is a possibility of another rabbit hunt Saturday and CJ will be there. Cool!
Great call Roger.
That's good stuff Roger!
I have a birthday in April. Not the first though, that was my dad's birthday.

We all got together again today to chase rabbits, and to get CJ and his mentor Terry thier Asbell wool. Here they are, looking warm in thier new stuff.

Heres everyone...I think....this was snapped in the middle of chasing rabbits, somebody might be missing.
Terry also gave CJ a copy of Fred Asbellls Instinctive Shooting book....the young man is well on his way with a great mentor.

Gunner, Daisy, Jesse, and Duke....the 4 hardest working beagles in the business!

CJ staking out a likely run....if we had stood RIGHT HERE all day, we would have probably killed 5 rabbits. They ALL seemed to pass this spot along the creek at some point. We had good fresh snow, and the rabbits ran all day. I don't think there was ever a moment when at least ONE beagle wasn't bawling....or yapping in Daisy's case :p
Thanks guys, it was a great day, we were out thier for the right reasons, with the right weapons....I'm proud to hunt with you guys any time!! :notworthy:
Awesome job Roger! I bet CJ will never forget that as long as he lives.
Thanks for the pics, Roger!
Um, I think CJ looks cold. He has his hand up his sleeve instead of letting it hang out the end. That's MY maneuver :readit: !
I bet he warmed up pretty well with four beagles to chase.
Killdeer
Very very cool, great job Roger!
:clapper: Well Done!
Awesome. There are some great people with big hearts on this site. Encouraging to see people like this in todays world where it seems less common overall.
These pictures sure make me miss my beagles. :(
Bill
Beagles, Bows, and hanging out with The Boys :bigsmyl:
We had a great time with everyone, the dogs we great, Daisy is a great bow dog perfect pace for upclose shots and the two hounds of baskefield were relentless on the bunny's.
Thanks to everyone for a great day and to Roger and the Asbels for the shirts, they are warm.
CJ's mom and grandma were smilling ear to ear when we got home, very proud of their boy.
Nice!
Thanks for sharing the adventure. Looks line a great time in the Michigan outdoors..
Very cool stuff! Thank you for sharing Roger. :notworthy:
Congratulations to all involved. Well done!!!   :campfire:
