Basic woods? Big Jim?

Is that even possible?    :bigsmyl:

Love osage too. My next TC will have osage veneers on the belly

It will be a shooter

I think all the woods on his page are "Basic" for Big Jim. My bow is cocobolo and Zebra wood and I don't remember being charged more for those but I did call him told him what I wanted and was given the price.

I have never ordered a new bow with any wood other than the base price.  I have bought bows with upgrades.  Just because it looks good doesn't make the bow be a shooter.

True Al Natural,   but why not having a "good looking shooter"?   :goldtooth:

Large will make you a bow that suits your taste, if you tell him what you want. No problem.

I have many woods to choose from as most already know. Unfortunatly, most of these woods are considerably more expensive than others and thus warrant an upcharge.
It would be nice to have one basice fee for the bow and that would include all wood options, but in doing that, only I would gain as I would have to charge enough to cover all possible senario's. Also, different suppliers and special pecies come with different fees also. It can be  hard to keep track of on this end and the combinations are endless. If you would like an exact price, contacting me is the only way I can keep up with it. Until then, here is at least a partial list "taken from memmory" of woods that currently don't have an upcharge:
Bocote, Zebra, Padauk, Purple heart, Juniper, Shedua, Chechen, All maples unless stained (small  up charge for staining), Sepele, figured eucalyptus. I'm sure there are a couple more, but that is the best I can do from memmory.

Most all dark woods fall in to the up charge category, but these charges are seldom very high unless you plan on using Ebony of any kind or Desert Ironwood or especially snakewood.

Beauty does not make it a better shooter, but I'm less likely to wrap it around a tree when I'm shooting poorly than I would an ugly one!

Besides, any ol' girl will do for a prom date, but I'd rather be seen with the prom queen.

Thanks, bigjim

Ihad a gaboon ebony with scalloped birdseye that I bought on here that Fountain had made, and I always marveled at the way Jim does the finish on his bows.Very durable, classy, but not brassy. The man is a real artist and his bows are very smooth.Shouldnt have peddled it ,but My Name Is Jimmy and I am a BOWAHOLIC!
