What do you HH shooters use for a bow stringer?
just want to use the proper one.
Webster, best stringer I have used to date. Using one to string a 102# Schulz and it works like a champ!
You can get one from Tim at Braveheart Archery (TradGang Sponsor) by clicking the link below and scrolling to the bottom.

I bought 2 stringers from Black Rhino bows,a sponsor, about 3 yrs. ago and they are the best I have ever used and they are reasonably priced.
I just use the push/pull method, dont know if I could get Steve's 102# that way though.LOL
I remember Monty Browning telling about trying to get his first 90# Hill bow strung.
Eric
I just use the one 3R sells
Webster is all I use and sold here. Two cups on for the upper limb, accepts small and large limb tips and large tip on bottom...Here is a pic

Tell you what, if you have a bow in the 40-60 pound range I have one that will work well and price can't be beat. I will give it to you. Just PM me your address, I won't ever use it again. It just won't handle the higher poundage bows. Shoot me a PM with your address and I will drop it in the mail to you this weekend.
Regards,

Although I think you should always use a stringer with a recurve, I too use the push/pull method with Hill-style bows.
This is not in any way meant to talk anyone out of using a stringer, probably the safest way to go, but I have always wondered how people are getting hurt using the push/pull method on a Hill-style bow? I'm 6'1", and with a 66" or 68" bow the tip is nowhere near my face (the tip would be above my head)...
I use a Selway when I use one....should use one all the time but I don't....I'm bad!!
I use a Selway and really like it, have only tried one other (made by Neet I believe) and didn't much care for it.
I'm a webster fan.
I use the selway stringer on all my bows.
for my heavy bows I used to use the same thing Bob Swineheart used. A light rope, a little thicker than my bow string. It had a cup sleeve on the bottom end and a slightly large bow loop at the top. When I loaded the bow, I held the bow string snug up against the thicker loop, then as the pressure was let off,the bow string slid under it and into the string slots forcing the thicker loop out. Used it for years on the super heavies, without even one slip up. I cannot say the same for the ones with the leather cups on both ends, I have gotten into a couple of wrestling matches with them.
Selway X3.
Webster.
