What blinds are longbow and/or recurve friendly?
I have a DoubleBull recurve model that works great! Room to stand and easy to shoot from with recurve or longbow. I have used 60" recurve and 58" Tomahawk longbow. :wavey: :campfire:
Barronett 350's.....80 inches high with plenty of room for a longbow.

What about that leafy panel-like blind 3 rivers sells? Seems like I could do some damage with that.
This is a perfect topic, as I am planning on buying a pop-up blind this year. With regard to each of the blinds posted above, do you feel like there is enough room to share the blind with a 10 year old?
X2 on the Barronett tall and cheap. I got mine on clearance after Thanksgiving for 99.00 after tax.
I like my double bull dark horse
Another plug for the Double Bull recurve plenty of room and tall enough for any bow.
I'm still using a standard size Double Bull. Have shot longbows up to 64 inches out of it, but 60 inches or less works better. If mine ever wears out, I'll get a recurve model, which is 6 inches taller. If you're careful how you set up, can shoot a pretty long bow out of them. And, of course, they're quite sturdy, physically light weight and set up in a flash.
While sitting in my huntmore, I had a downy woodpecker land on me and peck on my arm while wearing my wife's Gillie poncho. I like portable things. i also prefer the good ole cheap all natural blind with a pop out camo thing I got from Poor fish outdoors, to make them a little more opaque. It allows me to have more places to go with the same equipment.
The DB archer is big. I can shoot nearly anything out of it. Plus, I can take a nap safely. Don't use it very often cause I prefer a bit of mobility, but they sure are comfy.

I have the matrix and the primos predator den. I have shot a 60" longbow out of both with no problems. The primos is much cheaper than the matrix and has some great shooting hole options.
Since I shoot my two 66" recurves, the Ameristep Penthouse pop up blind works for me.
It's 78" x 90".
I can't think of the exact name of my blind but it is made by eastman. I can shoot a 62" longbow out of it fine.
Look at the hidden hunter blind. Great blind and you can easily shoot any longbow or recurve out of it.
I have a owned a bunch of the Double Bull recurve and standard height blinds over the years. Done alot of filmimg with 2 guys in the blind.
I shot a bunch of stuff out of the regular height blind with a 62" recurve...but I also hit a limb now and then (never goes well). Even with the taller one you have to be aware of your position, but not as critical.
Another  for the Ameristep Penthouse. 90" tall, not a hub blind, but can set it up in about 10 minutes once you've done it a time or two. Good window options, and black interior liner. If you have kids, there's plenty of room inside for two of you.
Good luck!
The Barronett 350 is perfect for longbows or recurves, very roomy and very easy to set up.
See what you think of this one.

Yukon Tracks Enforcer Elite if you can find them.No longer made. Same frame as the Barronette with better windows.Anyone have one for sale I'm interested.
Rhino Cut & Run.It's a two panel blind with no top.It only weighs about 5 lbs. and sets up in seconds.I find it perfect for setting up in fencerows and brushy areas where a full size blind can be a pain.
I have four Double Bull recurve blinds that we use for hogs and turkeys. I've shot up to a 62" longbow out of them but like a 60" curve a lot better.

If you want a quality blind made in the USA, the Hidden Hunter is the one. No other blind sets up and takes down as quick and easy as the Hidden Hunter. Check out the video demo.

I have an Ameristep Bone Collector blind. Usually I avoid buying products that have some TV show endorsement name thingy, but someone knew what they were doing when they designed this thing. It's quiet, roomy enough for my 6'4" self and my 14-year old daughter together, has long vertical windows in the corners for close shots (or to keep from hitting your upper limb on the roof), NO velcro or zippers in the windows, and it's built tough. It also has loops for adding brush and a handy roof vent for warm days.
Thanks for starting this thread Ken, I planned to ask the same question. Thanks to everyone who replied, I think I've figured out the best one for my needs!

Double Bull Dark Horse recurve model for me, I shoot mainly 62" bows with no problems....DB
I have a DB Dark Horse. It is a nice blind but not tall enough for worry-free ceiling clearance with 58-62" recurves I shoot.
My son has a DB Supreme (I think that is the name). It is 73 or 75" tall. It is very nice. We'll be sharing it this turkey season.
No BC logo products go home with me.
If you can find one, the Invisiblind is top notch. Every bit as big as the DB Recurve, maybe bigger. Ted Nugent used the Invisiblind before they went out of business and he was forced to switch to the Double Bull. Invisiblind was in business before Double Bull, they just didn't have the financial backing to support their product.Invisiblind was well made and plenty big for an adult, and a 10 year old or two. Good luck in your quest. Shoot straight and "Keep'Um Sharp".
Check out the H.I.P.S. bow blind. A lot of fun especially with turkeys.

I stay on the ground and when I want to move around some it beats my DB blind usless I want to take a nap.

From looking at numerous options in pop-ups, what are your opinions on window configurations? Many of the pictures that I've seen show the windows as glaring black holes, but more importantly, what about shooting out of the blind; what is your preference or what do you wish was different as far as window layout re: shootability?
Thanks,
TomBow
on the quest for 1st trad kill and it might just be a turkey!
Macbow - That HIPS blind is slick. Was thinking about building one like Guru made last year that mounts outboard of a bowquiver, but this goes that much further.
Only thing that I can think would make it better would be Predator or ASAT patterns. Thanks for the heads up.....looks great for run/gun turkey hunting.
I second Ron's endorsement of the Hidden Hunter blind. Built by traditional bowhunters right here in good old Michigan.
Mr. LaClair-can you get your friends to make the 'hidden hunter' in ASAT? I would buy it then, and I bet a lot of other ganger's would too! Thanks.
Kenny :bigsmyl:
You don't need the ASAT. The woodland camo with a few limbs cut on site and stuck through the loops on the side and it disappears. I think the rounded shape helps it blend in better than the square hub blinds.
Kenny, Northwoods has a new "Hidden Hunter" blind coming out with a new camo pattern, I'll try to find out more info.
I got my Penthouse yesterday, and it is perfect for a guy who is 6'4" and shooting a 70" Howard Hill bow! I love all the combinations of windows, shoot through screens, and flaps

Love my Gorilla. Thing you need to worry about other than interior height is if the windows are tall enough so you can shoot vertically more. The ones with small windows you can just shoot level are not good. Sometimes the ground especially with turkeys can fall off and when the blind is on level ground it is impossible to get a shot down to the bird.
I got an Ameristep Harvester hub blind. 80" height, stand and shoot longbows out of it. Wish the camo pattern was a bit more like the Dark Horse, but it was under $170 new.
As I stated, and to refresh the discussion a goin' on here, The window configuration of some blind really baffles me as a trad shooter. I sat in a Barronett Grounder 250 today at a store and the windows were just too high for my taste, something upwards to 30 inches to the BOTTOM of the window. In the case of that blind, I would have to do some kind of weird half stand/half squat thing to avoid shooting the bottom window edge and still have clearance for the upper limb. So I asks again, BEST window config. in your opinion would be what blind? Seems like the hub style's that I've seen START the windows above the hub which makes all but bar-stool sitting-shooting a no-go. Please oh please help a brother out?? Thanks and Mommas' go ahead and let your babies grow up to be cowboys, won't yeh??
TomBow, I had the same issue with that blind. Price was great but it wasn't going to work. By the time I got high enough to shoot out the window my bow limbs didn't have enough clearance. Back it went...
I have an Ameristep Big House, and shoot 66", or 68" longbows out of it without problem.
