Not here yet. I'll advise as soon as it shows up.
Alright, let's get this started. The bow was waiting for me when I got home from work. Beautiful bow.
I'll get some shooting and pictures in tomorrow. Thank you Mike.
:clapper:
Let the fun begin! Can't wait to hear what everyone thinks of it.
I haven't forgot about the update, just didn't have anyone to take a picture this morning while I was shooting.
I love this bow. I won't tell you that I picked it up and immediately shot two inch groups but I do now have it shooting very well for me. I moved the nock point down about 1/8 of an inch and I am getting very good arrow flight with 30 inch 500 aluminums. (2016's for us old guys)
I plan on a stump shoot/ turkey scouting trip this weekend before I pass it on down the line. I will definately have pictures by then.
I have shot recurves for 30+ years but have very limited longbow experience. I can tell you that this bow has little or no handshock and is very comfortable for me. I would recommend it to friends.
More to come.
I would love to try it out looks great.Best part i have been lookig to get a longbow perfect oppertunity to test drive.

My week is over but I did manage to get some pictures this weekend of the bow in action. I have to say that I am really impressed with the way I have taken to it and the level of accuracy I have achieved after just one week.
I did some stumping/turkey scouting this weekend and really had fun with it. I talked my wife into snapping a few cheezy photos of me so you can see the lines of the bow.
Again- 2016 aluminum arrows/ 30 inches worked for me. Now it's on to Grove, OK. Thank you Mike for allowing me to participate in this pass around.
Brian
Got word today that Tom in Grove,Ok. Received the Cyclone pass around Longbow safe and sound. He informed me his computers down and ask if i would post his comments .He was already out putting arrows through it.He said after ajusting the nock he was grouping it just fine.He will take it out on Saturday. If he can he will email me some pictures to post.
Nice shooting Brian, glad you enjoyed it.
Hey Mike, put me on that list, please! thanx! mr.chuck
Be careful Chuck. You'll want to keep it.
Just got word from Tom ,he said he is still enjoying the Cyclone.Said he would have a friend get some pictures this weekend. He will have them emailed to me and ill get them posted for him.
Chuck,I can ad you to the pass around. Also i will be at your clubs two day shoot next weekend .Ill have my both set up and will have some Cyclone's with me in different weights .Should be a good weekend.
Leatherneck should be getting the "Cyclone" very soon.Let the fun continue!
Where is it now?
Bow arrive this am here in Tn.it had rained last night and was still raining some this am.i was really impressed with the workmanship.the riser looks like hard rock maple with walnut.limbs are very impressive, looks like myrtle.bow is very light in physical weight.you would think a 3piece would weigh more.guess I'm just used to heavier bows.
I did string it up and did get to shoot her.so far I have not touched moving brace or nock pt.i dis some bare shafting and got a 2016 29 3/8 with 175 up front and itu shot like darts.also shot gt 335/55 with 100 brass inserts with 145 and thet flew great.
I would hunt with this bow for the gt hit hard with al that weight.so far it has shown to be a great bow.i am gonna play with moving the cat whiskers for it could be quiter.I will adjust brace also as this my tone it down even more.
The bow arrived in a good plastic case that was great idea shipping this around.i will try and give a better report later on.Matthew Bolton is coming up tom after church and he's gonna try her out( he's a trang anger from Chatt.)
I want my 14 yr old grandson to shoot it this week for he's gonna flip over this bow.all in all I have got a good start with this bow
See,where those pictures buddy. The bow is in Tennessee now.Its going to move back west.If you havnt got on the list yet and want to, speak up.
got a pm from mike today im next on the shipping.
i should receive it on monday . i believe its a wonderful thing that bowyers such as legends bows lets us try a bow out for a week .wish i had monday off insted of today.
I just saw this thread and figured I would put in my two cents. I shot the bow with See and I can honestly say it was one of the sweetest bows I have ever shot. It weighs dadgum near nothing and was VERY smooth. For the draw weight, the bow shouldn't shoot as fast as it does but it flat out slings an arrow. We were shooting it out at 35 and 40 yards and it seemed to not have much of an arch to it which shocked me. Needless to say I was very impressed by the bow. I told a buddy of mine that it may have been a mistake shooting it because I liked it so dang much!
Well my hat is off to mike. cyclone was very easy to shoot.2016s and 175gr tip shoots well for me .picx later i need help from my wife.waiting for mike to let me know who to ship it to.very easy to shoot coming from recurves.i think mike hit the nail on the head with this with this bow .stay tuned for for pics.
Normandale33 where are you???? Your next up but chub needs your address .
Thanks guys for your wonderful comments, glad you have enjoyed the CYCLONE longbow .
Anyone know where Normandale33 is? Hasn't answered my pm's.Hope he is ok.
Pretty cool idea Mike.
I can't wait to see what you're surprise is for the Howard Hill Southeastern Classic.
Folks, Mike is a class act for sure.
Terry Harris
Any room on the list for me?
Matt Hamilton
Yep,your on.
Will you offer this riser with recurve limbs?
Sorry Mike,
I just responded to your PM, I was out sick this past weekend and had yard work to catch up on. Can't wait to fling some arrows with it.
Steve
I would like to be on the pass around list.
I agree with the comments about Mikes long bow I have shot my share of long bows and with out a doubt this is the best one.
Added to the list is:
Matt Hamilton
CoachA
Travis Elliott
Thanks so much to everyone who has participated so far and your wonderful comments and thanks to you who have ordered your on Cyclone.
Mike
I would also like to join in on the fun! That sure is a pretty bow, lots of good pass arounds goin on now. Hope this doesn't cost me to buy more then one bow!
Travis Elliott
I'd like to be included when it hits the West Coast.
I would like to be added, if it is not too late.
All of Mikes bows had very respectable finishes at last weeks Traditional Shoot in San Francisco. Speaks volumes of the quality of his longbow.
Bjorn, will you be at western states.ill be there?
Just recieved the bow today! looks awesome and the quality is amazing. I will post a review after this weekend hopefully.
Matt,
Steve said he ship the Cyclone to you yesterday.Let us know when you get it thanks.
Just got finished "owning" the cyclone for the past week. I was really hoping to get out and take it through the local 3d course but between the weather and work that didn't happen. My first impression upon recieving the bow were how nice the woods were and how light it was. The walnut burl accents are out of this world as are the myrtle limb veneers. Mike has a very good finish on the bow as well. The craftmanship was top-notch. Right up there with my mohawk...and that is saying alot.
I am fairly new to trad archery and only have a limited supply of arrows to shoot. I loaded up my ICS 300's with 225 upfront to try to weaken the shaft for the 47#@31" I would be shooting. I couldnt believe how well this bow shot athe overspined arrows. It has a smooth draw out to my 31.5" draw, and delivered the arrows with a nice thump. I was able to group well and had a blast shooting it. My wife was even able to let some arrows fly down the range and judging from the smile on her face she had a great time doing it.
Folks, have no worries or hesitation ordering a bow from Mike. They are well made and great shooters. For the price you wont find a nicer bow. Mike was great to talk to and seemed willing to go out of his way to help you with a bow order. He said they even have a place for you to stay if you want to come out and make sure your grip is how you want it. I cant recommend Mike or the cyclone enough. Thanks for the opportunity...looking forward to shooting cyclone of my own hopefully soon.
Steve
:clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
That sure is a great shooting longbow isn't it Steve. I sure love mine.
Please add me to that list i'd love to try something new thanks
Don, it was a lot of fun shooting that longbow...and it was so smooth drawing that it felt like it was much longer than it really was. Great bow!
Matt,
Let me know when you get the bow, and have fun shooting it. Thanks,
Steve
Steve,
The bow arrived today. I have it put together and braced. Raining outside so I will get to shooting soon.
Matt
Glad to hear it made it there alright. I had to wait on the rain as well when it arrived at my house...drove me crazy. Are you sure it isn't too heavy for you to shoot? :) Haha, enjoy and looking forward to what you have to say about it.
Steve
I took 10 minutes and shot it this AM. For a light draw weight bow, I was really impressed with the cast and speed (with my heavy arrows)
Loved the grip. Loved the mass.
More details when I put it thru it's paces.
Marr
Steve,
Thanks for your comments and being a part of the Cyclone pass around.
Matt glad it got to ya,have fun and keep us posted.By the way its 90 here in California today.
Mike,
It has rained every day since I got the bow. I have shot it for 10 minutes.
So far, very impressed.
I hope to shoot it Sat night and Sun night. Then, post pictures, video and a review.
Then, ship it on.
Matt
Shot the Cyclone , a little, this AM.
Color me very impressed. Details, tonight.
Put 65-75# limbs versus 41#, and that bow would be mine!
Mine, I tell you, mine. All, mine! Bwahaaahahaha! (that was my maniacal laugh)
Matt
WOW Matt, glad to see it brought that out in you :biglaugh: Cant wait to here the rest.
I had the pleasure of shooting this bow for only about 30 minutes, total. Rain and work just kept me from shooting. But, I have had it for 5 days and it needs to move on, much to my regret.
1) Really enjoyed the weight of the bow. The mass of the riser is just right.
2) Love, and I mean LOVE, the grip. It was perfect for me. I really like the thumb rest position and the "finger groove" which is just a recessed area, was spot on. I could hold the bow with an open grip or closed grip, it did not matter. Right now, I wish every recurve riser I have would have this grip.
3) Very nice sight window and the arrow rest was cut just right to accept different spined arrows. Same test as with the Rainy Day bow. I just grabbed a mixed batch of arrows, woodies and carbons, and let them fly.
4) Speed and Accuracy: 10 gpp arrows flew very quickly and with great flat cast. The 12 or more gpp arrows had a nice arc but not nearly as much as I would have thought.
Here is a picture from this morning. I grabbed 5 arrows and went outside. (snuck out the door on Mother's Day, just to shoot for 10 minutes).
I was at 18 yards, no warm up – nope, nada, none – and here was the group of 5. After that, I was so happy, I went inside.

My review:
I am more than impressed with this bow. And, if that riser would accept a 70# limb, I'd be all over it. Great Bow!!!!!
Matt
You got gipped by all the rain Matt. Maybe that bow will make a u-turn at some point and head back your way. I wish I could shoot 70 pounds. I would have to lay on my back and use my feet to get something like that back. And then, only maybe could I get it back. But, for just 10 minutes that's pretty darn good shooting. That grip sure is something isn't it? Good post buddy. :)
Actually, I misspoke. That pattern was from 18 yards, no warm up. It was the first 5 arrows. I was happy with that and called it a morning.
Matt
Thanks guys for your comments. Matt thanks for your review.
Mike
Shipping out on Tuesday, to the next lucky guy.
Again, that riser grip is perfect for me. And, the whole bow is beautiful.
Nice work.
Matt
Matt, I have Mikes first longbow and I shoot 60lbs. The arrows zip out of this bow. The 60lb pull seems light compared to most 50lb recurves I have shot. I could only imagine what a 70+ lb would do. I know one thing, I would hear Mike grunting all the way from my house if he had to test drive a 70+lb bow----it might pull his shoulder out of socket haha. Mike----dont worry I will test drive it for you---I got your back. :D
The way an arrow flew out of the bow at 41#'s...I couldn't imagine what one would do in Matt's weight range! It might end up landing in the gulf of mexico after blasting through his target.
Bow on it's way, tears in my eyes!
Matt
The bow has arrived safe and sound. Looking forward to test her out. I will post my thoughts and send her off ASAP!
Looking forward to your review.Dont worry about getting it off asap, keep through the weekend if you will be able to enjoy it.
Finally got around to shooting the bow yesterday. It is one great bow. I really like the weight or shall I say the weightlessness of the bow. It was very surprising. It shot like a dream. Very easy to be accurate with this bow. I have one problem, my fiancé shot it and now I have to buy her one. It is a great bow all the way around.

Looking at the leader board at the Western States Trad shoot last weekend, Mikes bows to my knowledge got first and second place in the mens longbow division, first in the youth recurve, and first in the womens recurve division. I know the shooter has a lot to do with it, but I think it speaks highly of the quality of the bow Mike puts out. Thanks for the excellent product.
Congratulations to the legends team at the western states trad shoot good shooting and a good bow.
Ben,
Were you in the lead or did you let Mike get you again? LOL
Curlis, you know I pulled that one off. Missed shooting with ya. You have to go to one of those Petaluma shoots--the course is fantastic.
Next time my friend.
