I've been very blessed in my bowhunting time afield. Sure the opportunity to put your skills to the test is the ultimate goal. But 98% of the time you are NOT really hunting, instead enjoying being embraced by nature. Here in Boston we have a great evening TV program called Chronicle. It's not the news with who got killed or raped nor is it Hollywood...but just things people are doing around New England. One of the producers has put a collection of his photography of the outdoors together. Even though I don't believe he is a hunter, he has captured my reason to spend time with solace in the woods. Enjoy his work, these photos sum up my why I love to get into the woods and never come back empty handed. Click on the color photo slide show...tippit

The beauty of nature is right before our eyes! When in the woods with our silent weapon we should always pay attention to it.Nice pics thaks for sharing.
"sometimes a whole season can be spent looking, waiting, hunting for nothing; nothing except walking through the beauty of autumn days in the thick forest, moving through color and clean air and the soft light of a million dappled leaves while the act of hunting forces all the things seen, all the beauty into the mind, but it is not until later, until years and a life later, that it is understood. When it becomes known that the reason for hunting is not the deer; never has been the deer, never would be the deer; the reason for hunting is just that: to hunt.". Gary Paulsen
Truly breathtaking!
I have to agree with you Jeff
Those pictures are beautiful!
Thank You! Maxx
Simply stunning! Thanks for sharing that Jeff.
As hunters we see things that the average person just not have an opportunity to see. Most people are content to look at the pictures - we get out there and witness it.
I wish I the ability to capture it in a camera like he does, but am grateful for the pictures in my mind.
Beautiful picts. Capture the beauty of the New England forests in fall.
Sometimes I forget just how beautiful it is right here at home.
Thanks for the reminder.

Great photographs!
Like others have said before me, definitely one of the reasons I spend the majority of my waking hours in the fall.....in the woods!
Beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing.
Great pictures. I couldn't agree more. Sometimes I carry the bow but have no intention of shooting anything that might come along that day. I just want to walk and observe mother nature at her finest. For those days, the bow is just my companion.
Nice photos!
Thanks for sharing Tippet .... your post is a great reminder that while we are out in the pursuit game we need to breath in natures beauty that surrounds us. It is the whole of the experience that makes us who we are not just the hunt.
thanks for sharing :campfire:
