Well, I have finally got my plane tickets so I guess it is official......I will be trad bowhunting in Austrailia!
This is awesome and I can't wait to get over there. My main hunt is a guided red stag hunt with Trophy Bowhunts Australia (this is the same outfitter that others around here have hunted water buffalo with). Mick seems to be a real good guy in the email conversations I have had with him so far. The hunt sounds just like a western US elk hunt with a lot of walk and stalk hunting. He also told me he has a few treestands and we may use those if the conditions warrant it.
I have also gotten in touch with ozzy clint on here and it turns out he lives close to Brisbane where I will be staying with my sister. We are puting together a 2 day goat and pig hunt on some property that he has access to. Thanks again, Clint!!!!
If there are any other tradgangers around Brisbane I would love to meet up with you. Maybe fling a few arrows or just get together for dinner or a beer. Please let me know as I would love to meet any and all trad guys over there that I can.
I will be arriving in Brisbane on 3/22, hunting with ozzy clint from Friday (23rd) thru Monday (26th). I will have free days from the 27th thru the 30th. My red deer hunt is 4/1 thru 4/7. And I will have free days 4/8 and 4/9.
I am really pumped up about this and can't wait to get over there and fling a few arrows!
See ya soon,
Bisch

Matt
Wow Bisch, that sounds like an awesome adventure! Would love to do something like that, but with what we lost on our last house it won't be anytime soon...
Enjoy, and take us along via pictures... Hunt hard and shoot straight as usual...
Go get 'em, Bisch!
Sounds like a hunt I need to do. Mick is a great guy to hunt with. I am going back in July, but I doubt I will be able to better the 100 inch buff I got last June -- not that it matters, since it is the hunting, not the killing that is the main objective. But it sure is fun to stick an arrow in an animal!!
Let us all know how it went. I want to figure out my next trip to Oz after my hunt in July.
Allan
Hey Allan, What was your bow set-up for the buffalo hunt? I know I do not have anything close to what i would need to do that but was just wondering.
Oh, and congrats on the 100" buff! That's a monster.
Bisch
Good Luck!
Good Luck!!!

Have a great hunt and don't forget to take "lots" of pictures.
Depending on where near Brisbane you are going it should be close to the roar & the stags will be starting to move around a bit.The roar generally starts with the first major change in the weather around Easter .Hopefully there will be a nice early frost or temperature drop around this time & you will be able to hear the stags roaring up on the ridges & in the gullies. It's a nice time of year. I will be away camping with the family at Easter but I would love to be out there as well. What suburb in Brisbane does your sister live in?
Good luck on the hunts Bisch, have fun and be safe...
Bisch, You have an awesome hunt. The best of luck. Lots of pics please. Don
Have and awesome hunt, Bisch! I second the picture taking recommendation!
Dang man, Africa and now Australia. Do you need a travelling bowyer to maintain your stuff? Your dime of course. LOL
Mike
Some Aussie critters are about to be harmed! Good luck Bisch.
Good luck and have a safe trip Bisch!
Good luck and have a great hunt Bisch!!! Looking forward to a full report upon your return!

Thanks everyone! I can't wait. This should be a real hoot.
Lyonel, I'm not sure which suburb but I am pretty sure she will be right in the middle of the city somewhere as she does not even have a car. She just moved there within the last week and I am waiting for her to get settled in a bit before I start barraging her with stuff that I need.

Danny

Good luck and enjoy the adventure!
Do you know what town or area you will be hunting in? Most of the Red Deer areas are only a few hours from Brisbane.
Good Luck and have a safe journey. Can't wait to hear the stories and see the pics.

Mick said it was about 2-3 hours from Brisbane and I think it said something about Mary Valley on his website.

Good luck! Can't wait for the stories!
You will probably be around Imbil or Kandanga. They see the occasional Russa Deer around that area also. Nice country you will enjoy yourself.

Sorry mate doubled up somehow?
Man, that sounds like a great trip..
Good hunting !
Good Luck...
A dream trip for sure.. Can't wait for the story and pictures. Good luck to you and be safe if you can.
Mate you are more than welcome to come up to my place for a shot and a BBQ on your spare days if you don't get any better offers between now and then.
I only live 1/2 hours train ride from the city centre and I live on a small suburban block so I only have a 20m lane to shoot on though.
I don't know about hunting at this stage but at the very least I could take you for a drive up the Mary or Brisbane valley to check out the type of country you'll be hunting and maybe catch a glimpse of some red deer or hear some stags roaring.
No need to commit to anything yet mate, the offer is there if you need it.
Sounds like a bunch of fun. Have a great hunt!
Good Luck, can't wait for the stories.... :campfire:
PM sent to you Paul!!!
And by the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! My birthday is 3 days after yours.
