Anybody practice inside during the winter?I can shoot about 8 1/2yrds in the cellar during the winter. Also in the summer when its hot out, always nice and cool.Work on woodies take a shoot or two.
Yup, I shoot from my living room through the dining room into the kitchen(when the wifes at work)and from the top of the stairs to the basement as well(kinda like being in a tree). Get all the practice you can, even in the cold.
yep, I'm shooting in the basement almost every day
I own a ranch style and have a 20 yd range in the cellar. But this winter, I shoot off the back porch at night with the lights on. During the day, with no snow, can shoot as normal. Last winter the snow was so deep, had to shoot in the driveway.
Tim-I'm still shootin' outside here in Michigan because we have had a relatively mild winter so far! I try to get out everyday and shoot a few arrows to stay in tune. I put a couple of straw bales in black garbage bags and tacked up a deer silouette. Also, I made a form shootin' box target which Mr. Asbell recommends in his book. Have not needed to use it though! It's been nice out so far! Good topic and thanks.

three to 11 yards inside in winter
i cant shoot in the house but the shop is heated. i can shoot 10 yards corner to corner. this winter in kansas has been great last week there was a few days in the 60's so i shot as much as i could. when shooting in the shop i try to focus in my release, bow arm and anchor point.
Yes, every night. I have a 10 yd range in my basement.
Realy lucky where I live we have a bow shop with a 40 yard range to shoot all year round. Come January he sets up 15 twice around , 3D targets for the wheely boys to shoot 3 days a week in their league and we get our one day .
We pick our own resonable distances and just shoot for the practice no scores.
The place is empty from noon till about four on most the days for the old timers with their sticks :archer2:
You only need four feet or so between you and a bag target to shoot "form arrows" and it's one of the best and probably least utilized methods of improving accuracy.
I practice almost every day indoors. The owner of the local archery shop is a good friend of mine so I hang out there a lot. When he gets busy I help out. When its slow I shoot (and I can get out to 30yds in the shop too).

I like to shoot outside when it's cold. Good oppty to practice under real hunting conditions, try out gear, etc.
I can shoot up to 18 yds in my shop/basement/cave. Shoot almost every night.
I can shoot 8 in my basement. It really gets my confidence up!
Ten yards range in the garage(CAVE)!!
But I do most of my practice in the dark shooting at a candle at 15 feet. That is my practice during the
cold winters of Quebec Canada!!
MAY THE SPIRIT OF FRED BEAR GUIDE OUR ARROWS.
I can shoot 17 yards in my basement, rain or shine, night or day, hot or cold, I love it. We also shoot in our church gym, we can shoot 30 yards there.
I shoot all winter long, every day I can
[can't shoot inside} I sew four feed bags together with artificial sinew and stuff it full of shopping bags. Paper plate with two in. bullseye- works GREAT
]
In my basement I get 7 yards but if I open the door & go onto my driveway I get 16 yards, I do it more often now because of the temps & no time to go to Gander Mountain to use their indoor range.
Gotta keep those muscles workin.
I shoot all year. Back yard when nice, no wind. Have an old empty sheep barn ( with flood lights ), can shoot up to 70 yds.
Living in Alabama the only time i shoot indoors is in the middle of the summer, most humid place on earth. I just can't shoot a bow while soaking wet so i go to my place of business 3 miles away, im in the car business and we have a really big shop.
We can shoot out to 40yds with the air on and boy what a difference. I will sometimes shoot in my garage just for form and to keep up my strength. My teacher told me that shooting 5 yds away with perfect form is better than slinging a bunch of arrows with poor form.

There's a archery dealer that has an indoor 3-D close by. But I just go out side,no snow this year so far and when there is I snow blow a path to my target.
I try to shoot every day, if it's not pouring outside. Want to set up shot from garage to outside so I can shoot after dark on nights I get home late.
Closest archery store w/ and indoor range is over an hour away, but I shoot in my neighbor's basement (10 yds) at least 4-5 times a week, and outside whenever the weather isn't too heinous this time of year.
Yep I can shoot up to 17 yards in my basement. I also hang the target from the rafters at eye level, and shoot point blank working on my form. I try and shoot every night. Some more than others but I always try and shoot a few arrows.
MAn all you guys talking about just shooting a few arrows.... I never have the self control for that.
its like eatin Doritos for me, I can't just shoot a few. before you know it "a few arrows" turns into an all day event........ and then when its time to go....just one more shot!
Basement and pole barn.
I've got eight yards in my shop. Shoot every day, working on
my concentration. Been great overall for arms and shoulders
staying loose. Reading this thread to my wife so she knows I'm not the only nut in the tree.
every day, I have 14 yards from basement through
attached garage.
I shoot all winter long. Oh I forgot :D , I'm spending three winter months in Arizona. But, when I'm at home, I still brave the cold and shoot just about every day in my back yard. Hunt in the snow, shoot in the snow. But, I must admit, it is a whole lot easier to get motivated while down here in the desert.
I do... 6 yards away!!
I shoot almost every day in our garage. I can get about 10 yards.

I shoot everyday in my basement 18 yards.. I also have an archery shop 1 mile from my house. It has a screen for techno hunts. My buddies and I love to shoot the screen.. Nothing like shooting at live situations on a weekly basis.
Heres my "indoor range". I have a wall at about 10 yards to the target, so I cut a hole in it so I can shoot at 19 yards. Its quite functional in the winter when its to cold outside to shoot, or I don't want to go to the local 3d range.

I have a target block at my place of business and shoot everyday, either before or after I close or while waiting for a customer to get here. I have my 45,50, and 55 # bows here and work all three. Mostly I work on release. But when the weather is good I have a block outside my shop and work at longer distances. You can get locked in at a set range (in my case 11 yds) and it will hurt you at other distances. Got to mix it up some.
