Hi
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Fox High Sierra recurve?
thanks
Love mine, just ordered an extra set of lighter limbs from Ron at the Kalamazoo show a couple weeks ago. Going to have juniper limb veneers with zebra wedges. Ron said I should have them around April - can't wait. I got mine brand new from Ron in 2001, and it is the quietest bow I have owned, and I've went through quite a few.

I got one from a trade a few years ago and Love it..It's 43#@28" and 60" long..Very smooth with no noticeable stacking or finger pinch...I also have a Fox Royal Crown 48#@28" and 64" longbow that I just traded back in Sept. for and it is just as smooth...Great bows and very quick for the poundage..
Ron and Debbie are good people, they make a good bow and take good care of their customers.
I had one at one time when I was in the mode of buying and selling everything under the sun, and it was one of the best shooting recurves I have ever owned. Great bows, great people!
Very good bow. I also ordered a new set of lighter limbs at KZoo. Mine are going to be yew with cocobolo wedges, 52 at 28".
Excellent bow! I bought mine in 2001. I saw it first at the Fox booth at the "Kentucky Klassic" traditional festival. Shot it there but didn't buy it. Then I went to Cloverdale, IN a couple months later. Shot it again. Didn't buy it. It was the only Lefty Recurve on his rack I recall.
When I returned home I contacted Ron and bought the same bow over the phone. Alas, I traded or sold the bow, don't remember which, a year or so ago.
The grip was very comfortable. The veneers were osage and had turned a nice brownish yellow.
I have had two and I just got a real looker take down for my girlfriend and she was a takedown hater untill she saw this bow and put it in her hand now you could not pry it from her she just loves it to death. They are super bows and Ron is a master. I had a 57lb take down and no matter what shoot I was at someone always would stop and tell me how fast it was and would want to shoot it. I love my widows but there will always be a soft spot in my hart for Fox takedowns and they shoot someday you never know I may get another one.PS even if she would not of liked her fox I would have kept it for myself and got heaver limbs for it I realy like her bow and shoot it very well. Widow
I have a Fox High Sierra Recurve with two sets of limbs 62@28" and 54 @27". Great bow and limbs smooth shooters and no hand shock.Have had the bow since 1999. Would not consider getting rid of it although now I am shooting only McCullough Griffin Longbows. Its nice to have a variety to have fun with the different bows!
Those are great looking bows!!
I made a bad mistake, by not checking Ron out at K-zoo :knothead:
They are on the short list!!
up for the Foxes
Never shot 1 but it's on my to get list.beautiful bows
Love mine. She's attractive and lethal...just the way I like'm!
I'll post some pics when I get a chance.
I liked my first one so much (53# at 28") that I bought another that was 46# at 28"'
The first was a plain matte finished hunting bow. The second is gorgeous yew and rosewood with just a hint of osage for fun and a nice semi-gloss finish!
Better than most, as good as any.
