I'm trying to decide on a broadhead for an upcoming trip to Ray's.
So, in the 190gr weight would you prefer VPA's or WW's. These will be mounted on 29.5" woodies and shot from a 49#@28" TwoTracks Ambush, I'm drawing 28.5"
thanks in advance
Pete
They are the exact same head, made by the same people.
Thanks westbrook, that certainly makes it easier ;-)
Sure, the Woodsman Elite are made by VPA.
If you go with Woodsmans, make sure it it the Elite version. The old ones are fine but the Elites are a definite improvement. Like others said, basically the same as VPAs.
Yep,same ones. Depends on whether you want red or black. If you do it right you can turn the black ones red. :D

Only one weight option with the original WW. So unless you need something other than 125, why switch? For me with carbons, I'll stick with the cheaper originals and just change adapters. So far, I've not shot any Woodsmans that did not result in a pass through. Can't say that of a Snuffer.
I really like the non-vented 175 gr. VPAs.
The higher weights (160 gr. and above) have a better length/width ratio, imo.
I was looking at the 190gr to give me a total arrow weight around 625gr or so with the surewood shafts.
Thanks for all the feedback guys!
You will have a killing machine there dude!
I sure hope so!
I have several options in a 190gr, just have to decide 2 blade or 3, single bevel or double, at least for a first one :D
Guru, hope to create my own version of that pic this year!
As has been said above the Woodsman elite and the VPA are the same head except that the woodsman elite gets a teflon coating over it.
thanks James!
The VPA's also get the Teflon coating. With the 160 grain and up heads, they are the same head except for color. The 150's and under vary because the Woodsman Elites are vented while the VPA's are non-vented and shorter. All will have the 1 1/8" cutting diameter. I think if you give either head a try, you'll be very pleased.
If you have any questions on either head, feel free to shoot me a direct e-mail at midwestbowhunter@gmail.com

The originals are great heads but the Elites and VPA's are so much more durable that they will outlast the originals by a huge margin, making them much cheaper in the long run.
the elites are also KME sharp out of the package
a HUGE value!!for sure--i was at the KME shop yesterday and personly witnessed some of the sharpest 3 blades i've ever seen going in the package!!!!you won't be disapointed!!ron has the process dialed in!!

I was able to meet Ron while up at the Trad Expo in K-Zoo a few weeks ago. He sure does know what he's doing! He played with a VPA 2 blade and one of his sharpeners for a few minutes and the hair on my arm ran away scared before the blade even touched my arm.
