Thinking about putting some sort of camo paint on one of my Shrews....got pics of yours? Thanks
Man don't sweat it. go to agri supply and get the od green and flat black spray cans. just shoot it with one color and when dry, get a cluster of leaves off your favorite oak or maple tree. Hold it over the bow and spray with the other color. works good. Just did a widow ironwood today.

Yeah just hit it in random blotches with Krylon camo(green, brown, tan ect.) and then get your stencil rather it be natural leaves or something you made up with thick paper and hit it with flat black. Comes out real nice. Personally myself I'd do a ASAT type of pattern.
keep em coming
any more?

Those are some really nice looking camo jobs, but what about the stick on stuff (limbstations)you can apply from Onstringer? You can always peel it off later when you want to change and etc..
I usually do something like this when I spray camo a bow down.

Also, tried a faux snake skin pattern with spray paint on a couple bows I used to own. Turned out pretty good.

I think that will void your warranty... :readit: :dunno:
:D

Ron, I think if it Does NOT Void the Warranty, putting Paint on a Shrew SHOULD Void the Warranty, just out of Principle!!
There's a nice little stone farm house on the way up to my In laws farm. Somebody bought it about 6 or 7 years ago and not long after they painted that stone house and a couple small stone out buildings YELLOW! They look like big chunks of cheese.. :scared:
Why anyone would do that to beautiful natural stone is beyond me... :readit:

You never painted a bow?
I like to use camo tape because sooner or later you will regret your camo job. I just peel it off and thank myself for not painting it!

   NICE!!
Roger, have you thought of the Limb Sensations from ONe Stringer?
They have a nice variety and can be peeled off.
Unless you want the riser painted as well...
Roger, paint away..and post pics!
Roger, Want to see your pics if you void your warranty!!! :nono:
I knew the firestorm I was stirring up when I posted this. My dear friend and mentor Ron LaClair HATES a painted bow. i PROMISE you if i painted a Shrew, it would be banned from the annual Shre Haven buck pole photo.
Don't worry Ron, I will most likely use tape...
Roger,
You are a guy who doesn't mind poking at a hornets nest to see if there's any in there! :help: ;)
Here's what I did with my older version Super Shrew Samurai before Greg Coffey started making them and he was using more of a matte finish than what John was using:

This is a picture of my bear taken with the Samurai using limb skins from Kustom King Archery. They work great and are easy to slide on and off.
You know how fun it can be Ray.....ever seen him chase me for the last peice of your apple pie? :bigsmyl:
I don't remember any chasing, but I do remember some growls and a large hand reaching for a Shrew Skinner knife. I think I remember something similar when my little brother tried taking a ham bone away from the German Shepard years ago. Perhaps that's why the big fella is adding big knives to his collection. :scared:
You get the limb covers and I'll make extra pie and we'll all keep our fingers in tact.

Roger,
In Jedimaster's post, the second thread he linked was a bow I did and I was really happy with the way it turned out.
Another option for you is to use a removable paint that I believe is put out by Hunter's Specialties. It comes as a kit of 3 or 4 different colors with a can of paint remover. I have bought it at Dick's Sporting Goods and also Scheels. They do make the kits in removable paint and permanent paint, so be sure to read the box.

Now you guys are causing me to want to paint my old Browning Wasp I use for bowfishing and backup. I would really love it if I could paint it in an authentic looking ASAT camo. Or, better yet, have it dipped.
