As you guys may or may not know, I'm in the Navy. Am finishing up recruiting duty in June, will be in Norfolk for a few weeks, and then have to report to my new command by August 31, in Guam. I'm excited because well, it's Guam, and I'll be there for 2 years. I'm bummed, however, as I have to leave my loving wife of 16 years here in Wichita.
Down to the meat of the matter, and my question. My bow is a 1966 Bear Alaskan. Only ever seen 1 that was similar on ****. So, am I wiser to leave it here, with the wife, and pick up an economical takedown, or should I just take it with me and hope for the best?
Leave your bear here and go see john there in wichita and get a 3 piece from him and take it with you that way you don't risk hurting it buy those great baggage handlrs that throw stuff in the plain
Don't carry anything, just borrow Danny Rowan's stunning bows.LOL.Best bows in Guam for sure!
See Danny. He has a very nice Silvertip headed his way right now. He has enough that u can shoot his. But when u come back, bring the Cape Buffalo Edition for me:)

I was thinking the same thing.......Someone should warn Danny of course!
Who is John, here in Wichita? Is he at Gander Mountain, Diamond Archery, or is he the elusive bowyer I heard was here, and ain't found yet? I do plan on contacting Danny once I get there. Will probably send him a pm shortly. Thanks for the help so far.

Richard, Thank you for your service. I always amazed at the sacrifices that you guys make. Hats off to your good wife and the role she plays in this....
Rich, I agree with the others, if you value your Alaskan, leave it home. I'd get over to the classifieds and pick up a good used bow for the tour. Danny will be a great help while you're there I am sure.
Thank you for your service!
I hear the hog hunting is good in Guam. Take a bow you can mess up.
Double post
Guys, you crack me up. LOL
Rich, get in touch. There is great hunting on Anderson AFB, both pig and Sambar deer, be warned though, the jungle is pretty thick but is doable. Go on the classifieds and pick up a good used three piece.
What command are you headed to?
HSC-25. You can expect a PM shortly. Was doing some research on some used 3 pieces one of the sponsors has. Guess I need to dig harder into the classifieds.
