Title: Advise FIRST BOW?
Post by: PHONEMANINDIANA on February 01, 2012, 01:11:00 PM
Can I get some opinions on the Martin Saber Take-down?

I am looking to purchase my first bow. I spent some time up a Kzoo shooting some bows and there was some I loved. BUT! I did not love the price for a first recurve.

I have a 31.5 draw length (Measured at 3-Rivers on an actual bow while shooting).

I am looking for 35# at 28" on a 64" bow to get me at around 45 at my anchor point.

For the price. 176.89 (http://www.bowhuntingoutlet.com/product.php?productid=86991)

The new Saber Take-Down Recurve bow brings a higher level of features to Martin Archery's metal riser Take Downs. These include the more advanced Saber handle with 2 integrated Vibration Vortex V.E.M.'s mounted in the riser and the Thermal V protective dampening grip for a vibration free shot. Right hand only.

Specs
Draw Weight: 30# - 35# - 40# - 45#
                    50# - 55#
Brace Height: 6.75" - 8.5"
Mass Weight: 3.4 lbs.
AMO Length: 64"

Thanks,

Chris

Martin bows have a good reputation. I have never shot any of their metal handled recurves but I would imagine they would be a great bow. If you prefer the look of wood though get a Samick Sage. A guy at our club shoots one and you get alot of bang for your buck with this bow.
