For those familiar with Surewood Shafts, the Hunter grade shaft is $0.50 per shaft cheaper than the premium grade shaft when buying in lots of a dozen. Which grade do you use and why? Is there a noticeable difference in the quality between the two grades of shafts?
That is a good question for David aka Snag from wideness custom arrows.
Haven't used to hunter grade shafts but the premium grade shafts are the best wood shafts I've used. Very straight and good grain.

YEAAP!
Just go for broke and spend the extra $.50!
Agreed. Arrows aren't the place to cut corners. They're the most important part of the hunting set up.
I always get the best available-when it comes to making great arrows there is nothing more expensive than cheap shafting.
When I buy them, I get the hunter grade for the simple fact that I honestly cannot tell the difference between them and premiums, and they are cheaper (helps when you are buying big quantities of them).
I get mine from Braveheart Archery, never even asked about different grades...they've all been excellent.......
I have got three or four dozen off the classifieds and never even knew there was a difference, Great shafts and you cant go wrong with them!

The Premiums are hand graded, spined, and weighed to + or - 5grs and w/ in 5# range.
The Hunters are hand graded, spined, and weighed to + or - 10grs and w/ in 5# range.
The Hunters may have a very slight growth ring run off and no fewer than 3 growth rings per shaft. They are still very good useable shafts.
I make all my customer's arrows out of Premiums unless they want to save a few sheckles.
I use the hunters. Great shaft.
