Title: Samick Phantom?
Post by: d from phx on January 31, 2012, 08:34:00 PM
Does anyone have or shot a Samick Phantom Recurve? I am looking at one for a 3D Bow. Like the looks and price. Would appreciate any input.

I don't have the phantom, I have a Lighting. I am very impressed with the bow. Others on the this site have Samicks and are just as happy. I think you'll be pleased.

Got a 45 #. Great bow. Have two recurves, the Phantom and Red Stag, both Samicks. I'm mostly a longbow guy but shoot the 'curves now and then too.

d,
I have a Phantom w/45 & 50# limbs. Don't shoot it as much as I should(prefer Longbows), but it is a nice Bow for the money. I think the Samick line in general are a good value, especially for someone just startin' out or just looking to try something different, as you are.

The Red Stag is kinda sorta the one piece version of the Phantom. If you don't need a take down by all means go with the Red Stag.I only have the Phantom, in case I ever have to fly. I never take it down otherwise. But again, I have a takedown longbow and it would likely get the "fly" nod anyway.

I don't know about that. A friend has owned several and he draws 29.5" . He would not tolerate stack, so it must no be a problem.

I bought one for X Mas for my step son who is 20

Figured if it just laid around it would not break the bank

Great little bow for  the money

If you spend a little more you can get a decent ILF riser and have a world of limbs to choose from

Phantom? I don't know that model. I had the Samick Red Stag take-down. Good shooting and attractive.

The Phantom is a bit longer than the Red Stag (takedown) and the fit and finish is better. The Phantom has a locator pin along with the bolt, not sure the Red Stag does. As I said, I have  a Red Stag one piece recurve and a Phantom Takedown.Unless I really needed a takedown, I'd buy the Red Stag as a one piece. Very nice bow for the money in the 1 pc.
