My first attempts at splicing. I used the membrane splice method. I'm going to adjust the shape of the burn a little but I'm pretty happy with the first finished arrow. The others are ready to be glued and burned.
I always loved spliced arrows but figured it would be too difficult to learn and/or result in an arrow with weak fletchings. Neither could be further from the truth...and this is a ton of fun.

So addicting, isn't it? Now let's see them chopped or burned on some shafts.
Sorry double post.
I bought a dozen mfx's that I need to bare shaft and cut this week. I'll be making some more feathers and fletching them up. I just had to try the first one on an old arrow to see how they looked glued up. Good meeting you at Kzoo Mike. My oldest really enjoyed shooting.
An excellent looking arrow.
okay personally i LOVE those greem black and white one. they all look great!

WOW!!! :scared: Those ALL look great! I hope when you do get them on some shafts you will post pics. I'm gonna have to break down and give it a try. I have a BUNCH of extra feather parts from cutoffs for this to use so Thanks for inspiring me to try this.
Looks great!
Good job. You will never shoot plain arrows again lol.
That is outstanding. They say practice makes perfect, but seems you nailed it first time out of the gate.
