I shoot a 2117 's and I have some 2312's. The outside and inside diameter is a perfect fit. My bow is 54 @28" and I draw about 31" so I'm guessin I'm pullin around 60#. I figure I'm borderline on spine anyway. Would the footing have any effects on spine. I only plan on footing about 3" or so. Thought I would tuffin up my huntin and stumpin arrows. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks, Jason
I used to splice aluminiums awhile ago. Three in. should not effect spine that much. We used to shoot arrows that had a tweak in the first 2 in. without to great effect on flight. For stump shooting your arrows should work. IMHO
I have some 1916's that I footed usinf 2117's. Perfect fit. I use them for stumpin and see no difference in the flight. They are, however, holding up better on some of the harder hits.
No problem or opinion on the footing, but if when you cut an aluminum arrow off, you leave the inside edges sharp with little to no bevel, they stand up much better on hard hits.
Deburring the inside creates a bevel and promotes letting the insert being shoved inside..
The footing should take it to a higher level yet.
Had some 1916" that were cut too short. Footed them w/a 2" piece of 2114 w/ insert. Added 1" to the length and 40grs to the weight.Worked fine
Anybody know what size shaft would fit over a 2016 Gamegetter shaft?

2213 ought to work
I shoot 2315's..what size would work good with this..and do you guys move the outer shaft forward to use a larger insert ? If you don't..do you use some type of washer on it to mate different heads correctly ?
Mac
2216s will fit over 2016s.
I think the 2216 might be too tight. 2016 measures .313. interior on a 2216 is .3118. 2213 measures .317. I'd rather not fight w/ it to get it on, but that's just me.
I have put an 1 1/2" long 1916 inside my 2117's and then swaged them, works great.
I have been footing carbons with chrome moly steel from old golf club shafts, and dont see why they wouldnt have potential for experimentation with footing for aluminum on wood.If you want strong,Im sold on the old golf club chunks. My hunting arrows are loaded up front like a lead glove.

That has an OD of .359. The closest fit would be a 2514 that has an ID of .362
Only availible in the xx78 now.
Praire Drifter,For many years all my 20 diameter shafts have been footed with 2213's.It seams to make them fly better and are definately tougher.2215's can be used over 20's but shes real tight, the 2213's work much better.
