Just wondering how many shooters out there are using nylon fingered gloves or tabs and are they better than cordovan leather? I know it's really personal preference, but would like to see the responses.
I like nylon on gloves and cordovan tabs.
In addition to plain cowhide gloves, I've used a Superglove (cordovan tips), a Duraglove (nylon tips, and now a big shot (nylon tips with inserts). I like the Big Shot the best so far with the Duraglove second.
I don't know that anyone makes a nylon tab, but cordovan tabs are hard to beat if you use a tab. I've used calf hair tabs, but they wear out quickly. Cordovan tabs just keep getting better with time. I'm not sure they can be worn out! My oldest one is about four years old and going strong.
I know this won't help you decide between glove or tab, but maybe if you pick one or the other this will be helpful. I like tabs for lighter bows, but the Big Shot works great for a heavier draw or where finger pinch might be an issue.
I like nylon gloves cause they don't need to "break in" and they dont develop grooves (stalls) as they wear. They shoot the same right out of the package until you wear a hole in em. But, I only pull 45 pounds. If you shoot a way heavier bow you may need more protection or check out a Big Shot with the padded nylon over leather tips. I shoot a Bearpaw black glove
I've always shot cordovan tabs. It's never let me down in any way so I stick with it.
I tried the big shot stalls aren't long enough for me. I Like the ew bateman glove.its cordovan.had to switch to lefty.now I got a hair tab from eagle flight.the English archers of old used a tab.
Thanks everybody! I only shoot 45-47# bows, so I don't need a thick tab or glove. I use a Bateman 3 under tab now, but have been hearing of people buying the nylon ones. Limbshaker, I like your Zeppelin signature!
