Pronghorn
From the looks of RC's last few post....... I think someone is itching for a new bow!
I'll second Tater.
Pronghorn
Shawnee morrison for me.
A-riser, E-carbon/foam limbs, 62" Morrison Shawnee.
I keep going back to the ACS's. 14" riser 64" limbs.
Hey, RC. My favorite is my 62" Hill Country Wildcat. I really like the forward riser.
I also wish I had never sold my 62" Firefly. :knothead: That was just plain dumb!
Both are outstanding bows by stand-up bowyers.
I like the predator take down.
Pronghorn.
Thanks fellers. Love my Mohawk but after shooting "Hope" the stalker a while I think I gotta get me a used 3 pc takedown. Just undecided which one right now. Keep`m coming.RC
I really like my Bob Lee 'short riser' longbow. I've had a LOT of takedown bows but there's just something about a Bob Lee.
Hummingbird.
As far as longbows I've only shot a PL, bama, and ACS CX and the CX is by far the most accurate, fastest, quietest, and most consistent one I've shot. I love the RC grip
Bacote-maple and osage Crooked Stic

Well, I doubt that you could find this one used yet. The new Nitro by Zipper is smoking!
Pronghorn
Randy
those prong horn sure look good!
I was pretty impressed by the couple of Firefly 3 piece lbs that came through my shop....
This is Ron Margly's bow. Great performance.

Morrison Shawnee for me..!
pronghorn
There are many that have come and gone, but the ones that I still have are my Pronghorn and Horne Combo Hunter.
But I do have to say that the Big Foot Obsidian that I just got is a real shooter and I can't wait to get my hands on the G.W. Flanagan that I have coming next week.
I really like these.

He's shot the same Mohawk, along with a couple of others he already had, for two years now...yeah, he's about to bust wide open.
I don't do pics(Age and mind thing!)But I haven't yet seen a 3 piece as nice as my Big jim Buffalo.
My Roy Hall Navajo Scout is my favorite, BUT I haven't owned or shot any others.
Black Widow PCH and never look farther
Pronghorn by Herb Meland.
Zipper...
I like my 58" Pronghorn.
Right now, it is my 64" Kota Prairie Nomad. It's a mild r/d and a pleasure to shoot.
I'ms stuck between the Macassar Ebony and this Zebra bow, with brass accents, and blind limb mounts. in the long bow dept.

Now it's a little tougher decision with TD Recurve's & hybrids.
The black walnut has always been a favorite of mine.

Seems like a Pronghorn might fit your style in a way as far as 3 PC longbows go.Stream lined riser, longbow locator type grip and mild R and limbs that are narrow and deep core style.Strings up in what looks like a D shape.Kinda light in the hand.Just a thought to mull over while chasing pigs or sitting under a gobblers roost.
Fedora Xtrem
(http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx225/hybridbowhunter/photo5-2.jpg)
I know you know this, but don't let pretty cloudy your eyes RC. It's all in the grip. Try it before you buy it. There are TONS of great bows out there and they all kill great and you can manage with all of them, but there will always be that one special one.
BTW, I'm partial to old 3-piece Custom Bighorns when it comes to recurves but am just the opposite and currently have a hankering for "that perfect LB".
In no order because they all rotate in being number one:
Thunderhorn
RER LX
Hummingbord Kingfisher
Horne Combo Hunter
I like my Zipper SXT Longbow, also the new Zipper Nitro is one to look at as well.
Not a fan of 3 piece longbows, but the two I have fondled & like most are Pronghorn & Black Canyon. They are sleek & shot really well

Smooth and stable and very speedy.

Love them Pronghorns
RC,
I am fickle and shoot a lot of different 2 & 3-piece longbows. These are some of my favorites. Even though my FFly bows aren't in this picture, they are really great as others have said.
ACS CX and the Zipper SXT with foam/carbon limbs are probably the best performers. But my favorite is the Horne's bow (second from bottom) that I built with Mark during his 2-day bow school.
I can't wait till my Big Foot arrives to give it a try. A lot of people also seem to love the Black Widow PL's lately. Good luck in your decisoin.
One thing for sure is that I pity whatever steps out in your way, as it will probably end up as dinner fare. :archer:

bob lee recurve
For some reason I thought this was limited to longbows. Here are a couple of recurves that I was fond of.
Only owned one and it was a Sapphire. Didn't like the grip but an awesome bow. I've got a line on a Crow Creek so I'm watching this thread.....
Loved my A&H ACS CX, it's about the only bow ive sold that i wish i had back and im a recurve guy.
Light in the hand, easy to point and shot some of the my highest 3D scores with it. For the life of me i dont know why i sold it, just had one of those wild hairs i guess.
My goodness Barry, look at all those lefties :scared:
Thanks for the input guys. I`m not much of a recurve guy. Thought about getting a Buffalo by Hoyt but just could`nt do it. I love longbows. They are quiet and just plain cool...I would jump on the right Widow TF though....RC
Buckster, that's a nice looking lineup!!!!!
buckster lineup makes me wish i was a lefty :archer:
RC, if you like a traditional longbow grip I have to say a Pronghorn. Six arrows at 15 yards with a bare shaft buried in the bunch.
A Vyperkahn named 'Habunero'.
RC,check out one of Big Jim's 3pc.longbows.
Hummingbird Kingfisher

Bishop that is some SWEEEET wood in that riser...very nice!!
Its kingwood, same veneers over a boo core.
Here's my Tiger Maple Pronghorn, before and after I refinished the riser and gave her a Beaver Tail grip. I'm about to snake one of the sets of limbs I have for her.
I'm sure you'd really like the grip.

LOVE my hunter bow hybrid longbow Idaho curt made me. just a great shooting and looking bow
Morrison Shawnee with "D" length carbon/foam limbs and an"A" riser with low or medium grip.
(Bob's ILF is nice too!)
The ACS CX with the 12" riser & 62" limbs. My favorite so far.
Leon Stewart Slammer. It is the only longbow I have ever been able to shoot well. Smooth, quiet, no discernible hand shock and very easy on the eye.

Pronghorn.....great looking....and its the only longbow(s) I shoot as well/better than the recurves (now sold) I've owned....

My favorite lonbow is defenately the Firefly longbow made by Jim Jones and sold by Braveheart Archery!
They are smooth fast and for me dead silent :)

If you not have tried one of these I highly recommend it!!
Sorry for bad pics but theyr from my phone!
Those Firefly's look nice!
I had a Slammer 3 piece that was a seriously wicked bow.It was the bottom one posted in the pics by Stinger.I loved it.It was a few pounds heavy for me though at my draw.So i sold it.It was a keeper bow though.
I like Morrisons Shawnee with Dakota limbs alot. Its a really versatile bow with all the riser lengths and limb lengths offered and you can get recurve limbs for it as well and hes coming out with his new MAX one limb as well soon for the Shawnee riser.Alot of grip options as well.
A friends ACS CX that was 66" shot really sweet for me.I liked it alot as well.
When it comes to ILF.... well DAS is the for me the real deal :archer:
I`m really a BIG fan these bows !
I use Border limbs on all my DAS and theyre jus so stabile and a joy to shoot!
I know I`ll buy more of them in coming years. They are truly a collectors item :D
I really like the looks of the new Tomahawk 3 piece legacy series, and I usually don't even look at a 3 piece lonbow as I love the looks of a 1 piece longbow.
Just got back to this topic. Some nice Ltd's. I especially like that green Pronghorn!
Rampart longbow.
RC, one of my Favorites was a Lewis Hollow Hayestani. I should have never sold that one! :banghead: Another one is a Bob Lee. Hard to miss with either of these 2. :archer2:

This as to be the best looking one... I never shot one, but I always liked the look of them Pronghorns! The only 3pc longbow I've shot is my Caribow Silver Fox... and it is for sale, just not for me!!

Nice grip on this bow!
What is the name of the bowyer?
Margly
My very first trad bow was a 3 piece TD Hornes Mountain Bow that was 50 lbs...hence my Trad Gang name. Unfortunatly I had an accident (my fault not the bows) with that bow and needed a new set of limbs made for it from Hornes. When the limbs came back the bow shot diffrent. Seems the limb design was changed and I didn't like the way it shot for me so I sold it here on Trad Gang to none other than RC. I always wonder what happened to that bow because RC sold it not long after he bought it from me. Any idea RC?
Since selling that bow I now shoot longbows but if I find a recurve I can afford then I'll get another.
