Post by: misfire on January 25, 2012, 06:12:00 AM

I'm looking for this or something like this to use during stump huntin and 3D shoots.

Any suggestions on where I might find it?

Thanks

Might check with Art Vincent or Scott Treaschner to see if they could make you one.

Ive seen clips that hold your string on your waist. I think my ranch safari bag and quiver has one but it doesnt have a piece that holds the bows grip. you could see if that may work just another option

How about get one of this from local Home Depot.  Cut the velcro strap to the lenth you need.  Only $4.97.

I would love to have a leather one like this. Adjustable for different riser sizes. I have a leather hook which works okay. But, some bows fit in there loosely and some too tight.

I make them..but don't advertise it in my web site.  I also make one that you can place your bow tip in while holding the bow erect with arrow loaded on the bow.  I've also made "slip" sleeves that can be attached to the side of a day pack (bow needs to be un-strung for this).
Give me a shout if your interested.  Both run $25.00

I want one! I want a bow holder that is adjustable for the different riser sizes!

Yee Haw!

Art is the man.

I have several items from him.

I have a Stalker Quiver, matching Armguard with knife holder.

Also, a Belt, Side Quiver, and Water Bottle Holder.

I will post some pictures this weekend.

Matt

I like it, but i think i will need to get a waist first, if i hang my bow on my belt it could get embarrassing if you know what i mean.   :o

If I can get this to up load here's a prototype.  I didn't have one on hand..usually they are out the door as soon as I make them...   (http://s1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa446/artvincent1/?action=edit¤t=BowHolster.jpg)

Ok I'll try again....here ya go.  Comes in Dark Brown and you can have your initials embossed instead of the deer antler button. (The button service no purpose other than decoration.)

Just a suggestion,I can't quite read the patent number but if you google it you might find the name of the manufacturer.

Good luck,
Dan

I have one that I got at the St. Judes auction
a couple of years ago.It is a hang by the string type and goes on a belt.picture if you will a 4 +/- inch square of thick leather with belt loops and with a sad face cutout instead of a happy face for the hanger. It
works quite well and does not get in the way.
Hope this helps. I can't do pictures

Thirdhandarchery "hip clip" is what u want.

It is made of rubber and holds the bow by the string. It grips the string so the bow does not slide down or fall when moving or even walking. Very easy and functional.

A rubber hip clip????...frankly, I think most traditional archer's want something with more esthetics than a rubber hip clip made from old tires. And it hangs by the string on one of these which adds a lot of wear and tear on a string.

Part of the reason trad guys shoot wood arrows and wood bows and use real leather, They're sexy.  Nothing sexy about old used tires hangin on your hip.    :wavey:  mho

Just received my Bow Holster from Art. It's just what I was looking for. Went out stump shootin yesterday with it. Instead of leaning my bow on some tree I just used the holster...Perfect!

Thank You Art!

If any of you are thinking of something like this I highly recommend Art Vincent at Cedar Ridge Leather Works. You won't be disappointed.

I'll be using this for 3D and stump shooting when you need your hands free for other things and you don't want to lay the bow on the ground or lean it against a tree.

No problem:

Open it up and place the bow inside...

The velcro will hold it in place when you bring the flap down...
