Looking for the best options in stainless steel 2 blade single bevel broadheads. Please let me know your thoughts, thank you.
glue on or screw on?
What weight?
Either screw in or glue on. Looking for about 200gr-225gr total weight up front.
We have 150 grain single bevel two blade broadheads with a stainless blade and carbon steel ferrule, but nothing in the heavier weights. You can check them out by clicking on the link in my byline.
Not sure what other heads are being offered in stainless, but there are a number of excellent and reputable broadhead makers that are sponsors on this site.
Now that I think about it I think 3Rivers carries a Steel Force that's stainless and in those weights. I also think the Tuffhead is a 420 stainless head for a glue on option.
Abowyer Brown Bear. Larry will be at Kalamazoo Kenn, you should call him and make sure he has a couple packs of Screw In Stainless with him.
Why stainless? The carbon steel is easier to sharpen and holds a better edge on most any broadhead IMO.
Just inquiring about them to learn, and perhaps purchase for a trial. If they don't rust and would be comparable why not use them. I'm thinking there must be reason for this as you pointed out Steve, thanks. I've never been to K-Zoo so I'm looking to learn a great deal more. See ya soon!
Abowyer.
Stan .. what are the spec's on your two blade?
I used both Abowyers (but not stainless) and the 225 gr Tuffhead.
Of the two I prefer the Tuffhead.
The Aboyer will not be made in SS going forawrd according to my discussions with the guys at A&H.
The Tuffhead is an awesome broadhead--VERY well designed. The are made from 420HC steel which the same steel you'll find in most Buck knives.

The 150's are made from a blank that is 1 3/4" long by 1 1/4" wide. With a tanto tip they are slightly shorter than that. The design is very similar to the heads used by Jay Massey and Glen Parker, as described in Traditional Bowyer's Bible Volume II, with the exception that these have the tanto tip and single bevel.
The blade is .050 inches thick and are being ground and sharpened by Ron at KME. Thanks, Stan.
Thanks Stan!
The TuffHead or Abowyer are the only 2 blade SB heads I know of and I wouldn't hesitate to shoot either. The Tuffhead is really nice and designed to Ashby guidelines. I'll have some on my pig arrows in March. Both will be at the K'zoo Expo.
