OK i am going to ask a very dumb question, but here goes....
How does, if at all, applying the skins affect bow performance?

Not much at all, unless a very thick skin like big boa or python is used.

Leather on leather. Barge cement, even titebond if you scuff up the smooth leather underneath.
OK, question #2, If I dont want to do it myself, who out there does 'skins, and does'm good??
Bob Morrison is widely regarded at applying skins.
