I hunted hard this year. With all the things going on around me, the only place to find the solitude I needed was in the woods. I'm sure most of you can relate.
I took a ton of pictures this past off season but never could find any of the bucks I had photos of. On one farm in particular, I had no less than four shooters I was looking for. Our weather during the rut was less than spectacular with 60 degree days, sunshine, and uncooperative winds. Good thing whitetails are creatures of habit cause if you've consistantly seen them in one place over time, others will be there. It was going to have to be 3.5 or older this time around. In little Delaware, the hunting isn't easy. Small parcells, lots of hunters, liberal seasons, etc., etc. It wasn't until the first week of December that it all came together.
I needed a breathe of north wind to hunt one of my favorite stands. The forcast the day I shot him was perfect. Cooler temps, and that little northwest breeze I needed. I saw no deer until he came into the picture. I'm pretty sure I heard him stand up out of his bed before he made his way to me. Just before last light, he walked in to 10 yards and made a 90 degree turn into my bowhand. I took him at about 12 yards from my Tree Saddle. Complete passthrough with my 56", 56# Kota Prairie Savage. My arrow was a KB "rebuild special" from Walmart and a 250 grain WW. It was the second deer for that arrow. I videoed it with my GoPro, but its a bit dark.

The deer had a recently broken brow, a partially broken mainbeam, and four broken kickers. I couldn't care less. I'll post a pic of the European mount I had done a little later.

WOW!!!! Way to go!!!! What kind of bow did you use?
  Way to hang tough!
Here are the pics of the European mount that was done by duck huntin' buddy Chris "Catgut" Betts. Ironically, we are not related. He did quite a fine job imo. I used a tooth aging kit to come up with 4.5.
