I was wondering what strings you guys are shooting on your bob lee bows. I am using the strings that came with my bows. I want something nicer with low stretch, I have used SBD strings in the past and really like them and if you guys recommend them what string do you guys recommend and what string count. I havent bought many strings so I need a little help, if any sponsors read this and can help me out just shoot me a PM. I need strings for my bob lee 62" recurve and my 62" bob lee longbow thanks brad
I make a D97 8 strand with padded loops that works well for me. Have n't bit the bullet on the new string materials.

I have been using the orginal string a skinny string(8 strand) and also a B-50 string on my takedown longbow. I do not have a chronograph to tell any difference but I am sure there is. I would say the original string was the best string and the skinny string I got was not served to my liking and did not hold my nocks very well. I put the B-50 on and kept the original as a backup. I just bought a one piece recurve though and ordered a SBD string for it and I will say there nock fit is PERFECT! I have not shot it much yet but I am impressed how nicely they are built. I have a friend who has several of them on his bows. Check the sponsors for Braveheart archery they have them in stock and it will be on your doorstep in 2 days..Henry
I have been shooting 8 strand astroflight with padded loops on mine. It does give you a bit more speed but I use them because there very quite and have that soft feel on the draw.
I use D-97 strings made by my shooting/hunting buddy bgram. After the initial stretch they stay put. My short riser BL longbow was strung from last March until this December and shot regular without the string stretching. I'm pretty sure the original string for my BL is 450+ and it is about as good.
I'm no expert BUT, I think how the string is made has as much do with how it serves the shooter as what material it's made from.
62" 58@28 recurve, made in 1994. Have shot 450+ since it came out. Great bow and great string material.
I think you would be happy with any of the HP materials!
Most bows don't show a big difference between the "FF" type materials--how the string is made, number of strands, nock fit, silencer placement, tuning, arrow spine, arrow weight, etc. will all play a part and usually make more of a difference.
That being said, I prefer Dynaflight '97 or Formula 8125 on every bow I've shot (that is made for FF type materials). Currently tinkering with the new 8190--my opinion may change after that--we'll see.

I've been making my own--10 strand D97 with B-50 loops padded to 16 strands. VERY quiet. There are a number of good stringmakers here-- SBD is surely one, as is Chad (above).
