I have been looking at getting some new camo, and ASAT caught my eye. Looks to be exactly what a traditional archer would need, only thing is the price. My wife can sew and I plan on buying some ASAT fabric so that she can make me a few lighweight shirts for spring turkey/early season bow opener next year. For colder weather, I saw that the warmer ASAT isn't any less expensive that the Realtree I already own. I did however find the ASAT 3d ghillie, which slips on over the clothes I already wear. Has anybody used this, or can someone recommend a place to find some relatively inexpensive ASAT? My wife needs some camo as well, and I am planning on going ASAT, as it has been well recommended on this website and other sites!
sometimes you can find cheaper pieces at...eders.com and asat-camo.com. I have the leafy suit and highly recommend it. It runs big so be careful when sizing it.
Just bought some nice ASAT stuff right here off the classifieds. The price is usually reasonable.
If the wife is going to sew you up a few pieces, have her sew you a poncho(or an oversized lab coat type item) so you can wear it over you winter clothes.
You could always try Fred Asbells plaid pullovers made by his wife Teresa. I have some coming sometime soon hopefully. Priced right!
I second the Asbell pullovers. I have two of them and they are so nice that I want to order more even though I don't need them. Very good prices.
OK,here's the deal, ASAT is exceptional for deer, but not so much so for birds who have excellent color vision. You should consider a more green based pattern if you going to be using it for Turkey. Same reason Asbell's plaid aren't tops for birds.
For Turkey go with the Predator Spring Green camo. It's hard to beat.
I have a full arsenal of Realtree APG that I'm most likely going to use for turkeys, and I found a leafy suit in Realtree that's fairly green and only $40 bucks so probably not the best quality but I'm mainly concerned with whitetail and eventually elk/mule deer/hopefully a mountain goat when we move out West! Was thinking abt selling the Realtree stuff along with my compound, but I'm going to take such a hit selling it I'm probably just going to keep it for layering or eventually pass it down to my son (someday haha, not ready for kiddo's yet of we can help it lol) unfortunately the Asbell wool is well out of my pricerange for one article of hunting wear, have found a few cold weather ASAT that isn't terribly expensive, but I'm sure I will have to layer with some high quality wool. Problem I have now is I have to have so many layers on while tree stand hunting I look like the stay puff marshmallow man n my string hits my bow arm :/
There are a few companies using ASAT- DayOne Camo, First Light. . . perhaps others as well. Like mentioned, I see stuff here on tradgang off and on. If you like ASAT- you will also like predator Brown if you can find it. I have made my own "asat" as well.

Not only my hunting clothes....everything else I use is ASAT...with a few exceptions. all my packs and Catquiver are ASAT, my small fanny pack is Brown Mirage.

I always liked the Mirage camo, i have a jacket in the gray. It seems to never have caught on for some reason. I think it works really well! I just got an ASAT leafy suit that I will try in the spring for turkey!
I think ASAT is some great camo, as is the predator line. I am going to work my way into either ASAT or predator for the fall season here. I'm about to the point of needing new camo.
The couple who own ASAT are very nice, stand by their product, and often do show specials. I have and really like the 3D suit...but be sure you wear an armguard! And have a way to compress it if you need to carry it. ASAT and predator are great camo. I also like the Core4Element if you are doing any western mountain hunting, and it's not too expensive on the Camofire sales.
I have not found a better camo pattern than ASAT.I have used the 3d leafy suit for years while hunting deer and turkey. The way it breaks up your outline is simply amazing.
Think I'm going to use part of my tax refund bonus money the wife is graciously allowing me to put in my hunting fund :) where is the cheapest 3d leafy suit from ASAT offered?
I have bought ASAT from Day One Camo(just get the shirts a size big for layering).
I second the Predator Green for spring turkeys, although I shot an Osceola this past fall wearing a plaid shirt.

AT classifieds if buying used, Eders or Boarman (sponsor on AT) if buying new.
