Title: Traditional friends
Post by: Marty on January 22, 2012, 09:27:00 PM
Haven't been on here much for a while- life happenings have kept me down for almost a year. Some of my own making and some not. Anyway- I decided to sell a bow or two and I sold one of my favorites that Yote Robertson and his Dad built for me. It was named "Slick Beaver" and I took it to Africa on both my trips there. To say the bow means a lot to me would be an understatement.  I sold it to a good friend for probably more than it was worth ( even though I think it's priceless) and I'm pretty sure he took an animal or two with it.
Anyway, right before Christmas- I received a package in the mail from this fella and by now you've figured out that he sent it back to me as my Christmas present.
Who does that? Only guys with Traditional Bowhunting values. I would mention who this was, but I know he wouldn't want me to do so. All I can say is thank you- there are givers and there are takers. Traditional Bowhunters that I hang with are givers. Thanks.

That was a grand gesture for sure. By the way Marty, Yote and Vikki are going to be in town at the beginning of March to set up a booth at TBOF. Come on up.

Knowing you Marty, I'll bet you have done some of the same good deeds! You know the old saying "what goes around comes around" or something along that order. Hope your winter is going well in sunny FL.

Some bows seem invaluable while some friendships are in fact priceless.

Marty's done more for folks than you guys will ever know. He's definitely one of the good guys. It's good to hear that some of it is coming back around.

Just a confirmation of the quality of the people you hang with Marty, and an example of how valuable your friendship is.  I'm actually not a bit suprised, because I know what your friends think of you. Now that's priceless!

Glad to see you here today, and hope that this year will be a banner one for you.

How cool is this?.... Way!!...I'm saying...

Congratulations, you are a blessed man!

I think your friend had a "perfect day".

"Perfect days" are when you can find someone to do something for and they can never repay you.

All they can do is love you back.

People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care.

Your story warmed my heart and I thank you for sharing it with us.

God bless,Mudd

Hey guys thanks, but this wasn't about me, rather about the act of a good friend.
I am floored by the texts and responses. Gives me Faith in human nature!
Do yourself a favor and call your friends and thank them for being there- trust me- it makes you feel good about things.

I think I have just had a tear in my eye.

You have to be a friend to have a friend!  My guess is the previous statement is 100% accurate!
