I have been wanting a shrew for along time, well I just filled out the order form and wrote a check for a deposit. Im ordering a 60" chamelion(sp) in brown camo. Now the waiting begins. I cant wait! I figure the 60" bow would be best for my long draw. 31" with a recurve, probly 30 with a long bow.
Good for you,well over due.
Congrats! :campfire:
Ah the wait....now to drive yourself crazy with the woods, size, weight, etc! Or do you have something in mind already Paul. I thought I did and have changed my mind a few times:)
Don Im pretty sure im going with the brown chamelion(sp)super shrew 60" 55lb @30". 'Im a liitle scared to go shorter than 60".
Paul, you are getting the right length IMO. Ron and Gregg will not let you order the wrong length.
I like the brown Camo. Mine is only 58" but it works OK. ;)

Congrats! Believe me, the wait will drive you crazy...
Just keep saying it's worth the wait.
you wont be sorry excellent bows
Maybe the best pure hunting bow that I've owned. The grip is outstanding. The length is very "woods friendly".
Yep, let me say it correctly, "THE WAIT".
RW, With all due respect...I have no idea if you're kidding or not. Given some of your past history with posts and threads...I really honestly don't know?
But will you please show some respect for us parents that are trying to raise our kids right and would never say anything like that to them even when kidding around.
Let's not forget...a lot of us have young, up and coming, impressionable bowhunters that like to surf around Trad Gang to learn not only how to be a better woodsman, hunters, and archers...but also how to become fine, young repectful citizens.
I'm leaving your post above this one unedited for now, in hopes that you will edit it yourself after you see things from my/our perspective....
just curious, what is the wait time on custom bows these days?
Tom, Ron told me this morning about 9 months.
heck thats not bad at all. I was thinking prolly 1-2 years. it will be here before you know it. Ive never owned or shot a Shrew but heard great things about them. Im sure you'll love it. congrats
You won't regret getting a Shrew. I have had mine since '02 and it is still my favourite bow!!
:jumper:
Don't be afraid of going short on these bows
They shoot great short under 60"
I draw 29" and I love my 60" Super Shrew. The 56" Classic Hunter has been very successful with long draw folks too. It has a shorter riser than the regular Super Shrew. For me it's one or the other.
Now I dont know what I want lol. Thanks alot guys! I asked Ron this morning if he could do curly maple and he said yes so its gonna be stained curly maple! I love curly maple!
Paul,
The stained curly maple and birch make beautiful bows. Order another one 4-5 months in and then you'll have a shorter wait after the first one arrives. They're kind of like Lays potato chips.
Ray, thats what scares my wife LOL.
Oh you are so going to like that bow and if by chance you don't ..... well, you will.
Pauljr, I just joined the list, too!
Also, Pauljr, I have just read where Call near-killed Dixon, and made that short speech before riding away. Good taste in literature, Sir!
Can't wait to see it. I have been wanting a shrew for a while. They are beautiful bows and great shooters.
Ben, that is in my humble opinion, the greatest line ever. Thanks
There're so many good lines and thoughts in it, I should've gone through it with a hi-lighter.
Pauljr, I just got onthe list for a Shrew Scout myself. Can't wait.
Thats awsome Sean, its gonna be long wait though. I think it will be worth it.
Paul, Sean, Ben
It looks like I am in good company and great minds think alike. I got on the list a little earlier in January. I am already going nuts waiting and it's only been a couple weeks!

Thanks Curt, Jason

The wait will give me something to look forward to. It also gives me time to think about what wood I want.
One week into my wait...
I called on the 23rd....yep....its gonna seem like a long time!!!
Congrats, She'll be worth the wait.
You can always check with Ron after the Kzoo expo is done this weekend if he's got any "show" bows left. He usually put's these up on his website under "stock bows" a day or two after he returns. This is one way to get a Shrew in the stable before your custom build shows up.
Ray, your gonna get me divorced! Brad your welcome any time.
