This thread was originally for the 2012 Kalamazoo show but is still relavant for the upcoming show in Cleveland.
Roman will be introducing a couple new bows to his lineup.
First is the BOBCAT. Like the Wildcat, but only 13" long riser. The prototype has Hybrid limbs making it 56". It is so smooth and quick, and quiet.

I'm not one who normally shoots good groups. With this little one I can.

Sorry for the flash in this pic.

Nice looking rig !
Next up is the Hill Country Cree.
The Cree is a 56", forward handle, recurve. Very nice little recurve for treestands and blinds. Also a very quick and quiet little bow.

That recurve is one I'd like to try. What is its draw weight?
Killdeer
Right around 45, Kathy.
Very nice !!
Romans bows are the best! I cant ever say enough about the man or his bows or his accomplice! Now I just have to figure out how to pay for another one! A friend shot my wildcat for the first time the other day and he said exactly what I did the first time I shot it. It shoots exactly where you are looking. They are quiet, quick and intuitive and the guy building them can take the ideas that you have in your head and make them into reality. Check them out you will not be dissapointed!
I have shot that dirty boo Cree shown above. If I recall it's around 43#. That little bow just spits out 600gr arrows like darts. I couldn't believe it.
I made sure I put my order in before the K-zoo line!
Any chance this Cree is going to be offered in longer lengths?
Two more reasons why I wish I could get to Kalamazoo. :banghead:
Kenny, do you have any pictures of the Wildcat with recurve limbs? That cree looks like he's incorporating the disign of the forward handle Wildcat into a one piece.
Roman makes a great bow. Excellent craftsmanship. My favorite being the Wildcat. I picked up a 62" Bacote Wildcat at Denton Hill and love that bow.
Can't wait to try em!
Nice looking bows Kenny , I like the looks of that bobcat and I'm not usually into three pc bows. Drew
I like the looks of the "Bobcat". It looks to be very stable, and quick.
Thank Team Fudd for the "Bobcat". His ideas spurned Roman into taking action on some thoughts he already had. Roman had just sprayed finish on it earlier in the day and it was ready to handle when I got there. I found a string and set the knocking point. (Roman was in the house dealing with what turned out to be a brocken arm on his youngest son) I grabbed some arrows he had laying around and proceded to shoot the group you see pictured. Flat out blew me away.
Matt (team fudd) says his is so easy to point and shoot, same here.
Green, yes at some point he will offer it in longer lengths.
Hattrick, the recurve limbs will be offered in about 2 months for the Wildcat, and as soon as that happens I will make up my mind whether I want the recurve limbs or the hybrid for my Bobcat. ( He already started my Cree but said I could switch :bigsmyl: )
Chad, yes very stable and quick. He changed his limb mount angle on the shorter riser and put reverse taper in the limb cores and hit a GRANDSLAM the first time up.
Roman is so GEECKED about this first one he said he won't sell it. It's HIS!! :bigsmyl: For those that know Roman, you know why the big grin. He doesn't get very animated.
Kenny, you just made me spit coffee out my nose!LOL!!!! yes you are right roman is not very "animated" as you put it. I asked him about a story he related to me one time about something that was particularly gut wrenching and I said "didnt you cry like a baby?" and without skipping a beat roman said "I am just not built that way"!! and procedeed on with the rest of his story. He is passionate about his bows though, even if you cant tell it, and it comes through in the final product thats for sure! Now I just gotta start saving pennies again, the only problem is I cant imagine a bow shooting any better than the one I just got from him in november!
Thanks Kenny....now ya got me thinkin', plannin', and savin'.
Kenny,
That Bobcat looks fantastic. When Roman gets his recurve limbs ready for production, I might be talked into one. Thanks for sharing.
Two great looking bows!
Buckster, stay tuned. He said late spring for the recurve limbs for both, the Wildcat and the Bobcat.
Deffinatly something I will be shooting at Kazoo.
If you have a lefty or two there.
Mark, please keep me posted. Would love to get your thoughts on how it shoots for ya.
Wow, all great looking bows!
But being KS belly mount limb fan...that Bobcat longbow looks like a real winner Kenny!
Wish I was going to Kzoo to try one out...I really like it!!
I hate to dissapoint you lefties, but he only has the one righty complete at this time. Mark I will make sure he has one for Denton. In fact, you're not that far from me, when the lefty is finished, maybe we can get together.
There will be a left hand Harvest Master and Mohican. I know that won't be the same, but he just didn't get everything done he wanted to.
Very nice guy's
A couple of nice additions to the line up at Hill Country. :wavey:
Kenny,
To quote Rodney Dangerfield "us Lefties don't get no respect at all" :biglaugh:
Kenny
Keep me posted on the lefty Bobcat, would realy like to shoot.
:banghead: Sorry about that Buckster. No disrespect meant.
Will do Mark.
Just got a call from Roman. He glued up a set of recurve limbs today and should have them shootable for Kzoo!!
Mark,
I live dangerously close to Kenny (dangerous for my wallet). I have a LH on order. When it's done maybe we could meet up somewhere with Kenny and do some shooting. Geaugau bowmen is between us and their shoots are a bunch of fun.
Buckster, I have family in AR so I have been known to make appearances there too...not sure when I will be back but it would be after I have this bow I know that. They live in Vilonia.
Sure, blame your lust for the next sweet curvy thing on me :bigsmyl:
Kenny,
Thanks, i was just being goofy & I didn't take any offense at all my friend. I appreciate your responses & information very much.
:notworthy: Think this will be a great addition to your line. We will talk again in early Spring.
Buckster, just CMA. :bigsmyl:
ttt
any chance you are coming to Waterloo for the 2nd annual Midwest trad expo?
It's not planned, but not totally ruled out at this point.
Heading out in the morning. Please stop by the booth and introduce yourself.
see ya there ken
i got my order in!
Congrats! Are you getting a Bobcat? Placed my order for one of those earlier this week as I knew I would not make Kzoo.
That bobcat is a real sweat shooting bow even at 56" and my draw. There will be a 60" soon. Another great Hill Country bow!
I really like the looks of the Bobcat!!!! But they are both nice.
i am going to get a 58 inch wildcat
Kenny, After all these orders I have only two things to say: I want a commision! LOL :bigsmyl: and two, how am I ever gonna get one now with all these guys in front of me?
Congrats on the Wildcat! They are sweet. I had one right handed. I am switching to LH this winter for health reasons. It's progressing well enough so I placed my order for a Bobcat. It was a tough choice.
Thank you all for the positive feed back. Both on here and at Kzoo.
I am a little under the weather so I'll be a little slow in getting back to some of you. Combination of a cold and very little rest this weekend make for a restfull Sunday.
The Bobcat came home with me as we are working through the process of starting a try before you buy program. Any suggestions as to how that should work are welcomed. Roman and I talked about it at length on the drive up, but would like some of your thoughts as well.
Colin, feel free to drop by sometime :bigsmyl:
The Bobcat spent most of the shoot in someones hand, as it should. Even guys with long draws were very pleased with her performance. Roman has plans to build some longer limbs soon to see how they perform, but as she is she's a keeper.
Can't wait to see a riser of Cocobolo in that shape!
Littlebigman, I got your pm changing to the Bobcat. Good choice, and good that you got your order in before the Kzoo Krush.
Kenny,
I may have to call and interrupt your peaceful afternoon!
Sunny day, nice outside....
That Bob Cat looks like a really nice hunting bow.
That little Cree is the one that won my heart. I have a decent 60" recurve and a couple nice r/d long bows, but I now have a burning need for that 56" recurve. I didn't have the money to buy it at the show, so I'm going to get in line with everybody else and order one. What a pleasant man to talk with and the quality of every single bow he had on the rack was top notch. I have to tell you that little bow spoke to me. She kept whispering in my ear until I almost ran to the ATM. That would not have been smart:-(

Kenny brother, might use this one !!! :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
F-Manny
Kenny I spoke to you on Saturday at the show and really enjoyed the K2. Now I wish I would have shot the bobcat and the Cree. I just ran out of time, my dad was getting tired and wanted to leave. I hope you and Roman can figure a try it before you buy program or I may just have to drive to Ohio. Thanks for talking with me and letting me fling arrows out of your great bows. Jason
Kenny, it was nice to meet you. I am glad we got out of the penalty box...
Heading over to Kenny's tomorrow to check out the bobcat. Can't wait!!!!
Bladepeek,
You are right, that little recurve does feel and shoot really nice. I must have been out wandering when you were there.
You're welcome Jason. Just keep in touch. I'll post something when we get the program going.
Steve, it was a pleasure meeting you as well.
Yeah, that hole back there made me feel like we did something wrong and were being punished.
Glad the staff took care of it first thing on Saturday morning.
The Bobcat is a great shooter. I ran some arrows through it a Kzoo. Smooth, quiet and quick. Heard lots of positive reviews by everyone I saw shooting it.
Kenny, I enjoyed meeting you and Roman. I almost missed you back in the corner on Friday. Sounds like you had a good show.
Blaine
Well I had the pleasure to shoot the new Bobcat today over at Kenny's house. Let me tell you that bow is SWEET!!! not only a beauty to look at but a true gem to shoot. Quiet stable and absolutely smokes an arrow. I'm not one to be overly impressed with speed but this bow did just that. I won't comment on my grouping with it as I'm a letfy and was shooting right handed. I can but it's akward. The Cree is absolutely gorgeous bow as well and what a shooter. I didn't shoot it as it was too heavy for me to shoot safely indoors. Thank you Kenny for inviting me over to play and as always a pleasure to spend some time with you.
It was good to meet you Blaine. Glad you found us back in the corner.
Matt, it was fun to shoot the breeze and a few arrows. You did look a little shakey shooting in the basement :bigsmyl:
Outside you looked a little more relaxed.

Not bad form for a lefty posing as a right handed shooter.
I was nervous shooting indoors! I didn't want to miss the target completely. I was real shaky with the Cree. Not used to that weight even left handed. Lol!
There was a lighter weight Cree there something like 42 - 44 lbs. Came back to anchor just smooth as butter and I dragged it way back behind my ear to see where it would start stacking. That would have been around 31" or so and it just felt so stable and "unstressed". Not the right word, but it just didn't feel strained at all. I will own one. Maybe that pretty cocobolo riser, but with curly maple limb veneers or maybe the entire bow in curly maple with a black accent stripe through the riser. There is a picture on the Hill Country brochure with the exact maple color I want.
There are going to be 2 Lost Creeks up for sale soon and maybe another bow.
Sent my deposit in yesterday, going with a Bobcat... Bucote riser & Dirty Bamboo 56" 51-52 @ 28" Hybrid limbs, looking forward to this one!! Y'all better get on Roman's list NOW or you'll be sorry.
Thought I'd bring this back up for those going to the Bowhunting Supershow.
There'll be some new stuff at the show, including my Bobcat, if I can get the skins on in time for him to shoot the finish on.

This little beauty won't be at the show because she lives at Pamike's house, but you could have one just like it.
My goodness that's a gorgeous bow! Can't wait to have mine here shortly!
Kenny - i have not had time to figure out how to get pics on here again. Thanks for finally getting my bow on this site. That bow is amazing as all can see!! Feel free to start a thread with that pic titled bobcat for all to see....
I have never seen a bow that matches its name sooo well!!!
Mike I finally had time to figure out Pbucket again. The new is not the same but it is managable.
