Howdy all, havent posted in awhile but I have a question for anyone with experience with this bow. I really like the looks of it and the 50's style. I dont have a chance to shoot one, so just curious as to the good, the bad, and the ugly about it. Thank you lots.
I have always loved the looks of the Super Ghost, I shoot them every time I go to Kalamazoo. Very light and quick, I like the slight palm swell. I'll be shooting more in less than two weeks at Kalamazoo 2012.

For me, I like the standard "Ghost" over the Superghost. Just prefer the leather wrapped, simpler grip. Both are among the best recurves ive shot.
I shot one, Absolutely loved the feel, but I'm a longbow guy. I actually like the ghost better because I'm a big fan of the grip.
Thier nothing bad or ugly about the superghost or ghost curves.
I think the good is they are so well made and durable. They are narrow and streamlined and light in the hand. They are quiet and quick.I think they are one of the classic bows of the modern era.I like the narrow thick limb that tapers gracefully to narrow tips.
Its a great hunting bow!The grip is slightly bulbous on the S. Ghost and it has a smallish narrow throat with index. The grip is rather small.Which i like. The S. Ghost is cut to center. Some prefer that.
The ghost is nice as well and you can get a locator/index grip with it and its leather wrapped. Its a good grip.I think they are cut 1/8th from center to match thier longbows.
Fantastic bows.....that's why you rarely see them for sale used. I had one but it was a bit heavy for me so I sold it. Took about a hour to sell. Just classic recurve bows that are very well made.
All good. No bad or ugly.
I shot one for some time, and it was the best shooter I had. Great design. It felt like I was pulling much less than it scaled.
Probably the top of the list when it comes to bows that I was foolish enough to let go of.
I have a new-to-me ghost. 60" 68" @ 28". Cut to center. I am flat out amazed at the performance. Very light in the hand, no hand shock, quiet, and speed is just crazy fast.
The flat cast wows me every time I let an arrow loose.
The simple grip is also a big hit with me. Love it.
I know speed does not equal kill but this Ghost is deadly accurate and wicked fast.

Nothing quite like a superghost....

I'd second that.

Curtis Roberts, have you read Dan Bertalan's book Traditional Bowyers of America, published in '89? Dan has a chapter on Great Northern Bows. He reviewed the Ghost. I don't think the Super was made then. Anyway, from what I remember, the Ghost was the fastest bow chronicled in the book. it is over 500 pages and showcases 30 prominent bowyers. I think the Ghost is a good design.
I have a 56" super ghost, great bow
I have a Ghost and thinking of the Super. I wonder if you can get the Ghost grip on the Super. I am not willing to give it up.
Wow, thanks for the input everyone! Shifting Shadow, I have not read that book. Guess, I will have to look at it ;) There is one other bow Im looking at and thats the kohannah kurve. Just cant decide, lol. I hear good things about them as well.
You could always buy both.
Onehair, just get a Ghost and have Jerry cut it to center. Those are the only 2 differences, grip and shelf cut.
I would realy like to get a GN bow also. A Ghost or a Critter Gitter, I'm a longbow guy but have always loved the 50's style recurves.

Love the Kohannah Kurve. I did a review of one with some ugly vids of me shooting it in the product reviews section. I was just shooting it in the basement now and I thought to myself, "I can't imagine a little recurve could possibly shoot any better". It's SO quiet, especially for a recurve, and you it is smooth. In the vids it sounds a bit noisy but at the time I did not have it tuned well. I had just got it... that and it was in the basement. Interestingly enough the guy who traded it to me just asked if I would consider trading it back. I don't think I plan on sending it back without considering buying another like it right away.
I believe I have an email from Bob that says it is cut to center. I'd have to check.
Either way, I can't imagine there is a better recurve out there, especially for the price.
David, buying both isnt in the cards for me right now. I think Im going to read some more reviews on them. Im pretty confident that I will be happy with either one though.
I have a nice little Kurve on the classifieds right now. Taken several deer with it. It's a nice little 50's bow, you can't go wrong dealing with Bob. I'm just thinning the collection out. Take a look.
