Title: Lime Green Fletching
Post by: Joshua Polland on January 16, 2012, 11:57:00 AM
Does anyone have good pics of their lime green fletching. I usually just use a matching cap dip with a couple of simple black lines. However, I just made a hand drill cresting machine (thanks Rob, I used pics of yours as a starting point)and wanted to mix it up a bit. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Joshua

Thanks Joe, that looks great. Those were some of the colors that I was thinking about. I had been thinking about adding a little white dip in front of the fletch, or an inch of reflective white cap wrap behind the fletch. Keep them coming.

I whipped these up to shoot in the snow. Can't see my regular ones. They work great. When they go under the snow they make it glow. Easy to find.

The dog toy I found in my woods while hunting. Since then I've found 4 more and can't figure where they are coming from. Obviously some animal is carrying them here and leaving them. I've been using them to shoot judo points at.

Thanks everyone for your pictures. I went ahead and made up a few different ones. The cresting is a little rough I know, but good enough for a hand drill cresting jig. So, which ones do you like the best.

I like using lime green wraps, nocks, and feathers on the carbons I shoot 3-D with. The combo really works well in low light for me. I crest with black and silver. The combo would have to be covered while hunting of course.

I really like the lime green for early/late light conditions....easy to see.  These are some Poplar's I just made for hog hunting.

I like the looks of the lime green or chartreuse. Only other color I'll use is white. I like to see'em fly!

I have been working on a set.  They were supposed to be white with lime green cock feather.  When I got my feather order the lime was more chartreuse/yellow.  They looked terrible with the wraps so I went with all white.  I may try dying some to match the green.  I'll post some pics later.

Ric, this looks like that new feather splicing technique I've been hearing about. I think it's a little difficult for most of us to accomplish.   ;)

I have GOT to get some of those lime green feathers.  I think they would be highly visible in low light situations, and besides, they just look good.  There are some nice looking arrows in this htread.

What brands of lime green feathers are people using?  I'm not finding any at my local archery shop.

I use AMG 5" Shield from 3Rivers. They are $39.95 for 100, as apposed to True Flight $47.15. It's about 7 cents cheaper per feather. I've had really good luck with them.
