Keli thinks I am a "BIG KID" every time I get a new toy. Funny, that's exactly what I love about traditional archery. I'm old... but I feel like a young kid again every time I see the majestic arch of the arrow in it's flight to the target. So she was right as usual.
I paired some Daala 55# recurve limbs with this new Morrison 17" ILF riser with nice results. This is my second group with this rig at 22 yards, resulting in a fist size group. Sometimes I wish I was hunting groups. :archer2:
CHOWDER gave me the nod... but wanted to go hunting instead of practicing. Now, here are my first impressions of the bow and it's shooting characteristics:
Grip - Near perfect with a low Daala grip. Very repeatable and comfortable , which is always what can be the first consideration in liking or not liking a new bow.
Shootability - I like this more than my Morrioson 15" ILF or wood Mini 14. The extra weight in the riser really seems to help hold a steady anchor and get a better sight picture with my limited cant. Maybe just a little more forgiving that the shorter risers.
Feel - Absolutely NO HAND SHOCK or STACKING, smooth as butter and fast. Even with just base carbon/wood Daala limbs, it really casts my 525 grain arrows well.
This is a GenII, and Bob tells me the GenIII is even better.... wish BOB would quite all these dang upgrades, gets quite expensive on a feller!! :dunno:

Sounds great Barry... some close ups of the bow would be appreciated!!

Not a problem for my ELK KILLING partner!! Stay tuned Wayne.
Nice shootin' Barry, good to have a new toy.
Barry, you must be holding out on me!!
I just happen to have an extra set of ILF limbs lying around.....HMMMMMM! :archer: :goldtooth:
Thanks T J, I am hoping it will see some hog/jav action next month in Texas.
Here ya go Wayne. I took a close up, and then another to compare the 15" and 17" ILF's side-by-side. I know that the 15" looks almost identical, but it's a shorter window and it's also closer making it appear a bit larger.
