Hi Guys and Gals, With the help of Terry I wanted to do a TradGang t-shirt pass around for this years St Jude auction.
We have a TG t-shirt that will go around to as many members who would like to participate. Each member will sign the t-shirt and send it to the next member on the list.
I hope we can get as many autographs between now and the auction.Remember its all for the kids!
A lot of big named archers are on this shirt and I hope it gets high bids. It is a priceless item and one of a kind.
**** UPDATE INFO ITS ON BID FORUM # 5 UNDER AUTOGRAPHED TG T_SHIRT****

Great idea Tim!
If you could arrange to get the shirt to me just prior to the Kalamazoo expo I can take it with me and collect some signatures there. That will save shipping costs and hopefully collect a bunch of signatures for you.
I will be in the Compton booth most of the weekend, and could have the shirt with me right in the booth. Any Trad Gangers that would like to sign can just stop by and do it there

It would be nice if some TGers like Ron LaClair, Charlie Lamb, RC, sunset hill, David Miller, the Wensels, Mr and Mrs Asbell, Gary Logsdon, some of our international friends and contributors, and others would sign it as well.
There's too many great contributors and hunters on here to list them all, but that would be one heck of a fundraiser if some key traditional archers got in the mix.
And of course our Admins need to sign it as well. ;)
Just an open thought...
Im gonna stay out of the way and let the big dogs have my spot. Very cool deal though!!

I'll go ... when I read this first I thought NJ boy lost his mind...I didn't want to be wearing no "pass around" t-shirt! :scared:
The reality, after I screwed up courage, to look, is much better!
If someone is close to the Wenzel boys and could get it to the Harrisburg, PA Sport and Outdoor Show, the Wenzels have a booth and could do what Whip is doing at kZoo.
Turn around would be quick cause the H-burg Show starts like 2/4!
If that happens, please post...other wise, send it to me somewhere down the line:

When is the show....I gotta ship this shirt to JOE!!!
Never mind....found it...will go out tomorrow.
:campfire:
Terry I have his home addy. I think Kzoo starts on the 27th. plenty of time.
Turns out both Whip and The TWins are at Kazoo... so if the idea flies, Wenzels could take it from Kazoo to H-burg... and we could start the rounds from there, but I'll have signed it along with numerous trad buds if it shows up there!

Tim,

BTW, just for the record, this goes on the auction block next St. Jude UNWORN...it' ain't that kinda "pass around".... Whew! :nono:
After Whip brings it back(if the Wensels dont take it PA) then it will go down the list as you have posted.

I have the shirt packed and ready to come to Kzoo with me this weekend. Killy - you are first in line

Tim,
I'll take the shirt with me in a pre-addressed box. If Gene and Barry take it with them they can just send it directly Matt, who is first on the list of this thread.
If the Twins do bring it to H-burg show, then we need to post back up who's signed and whose still on the list.
Sure will save on shipping if we can get a passel of them at these 2 shows!
Thanks Guys, I did email Barry and Gene will be at Kzoo,He was going to forward the email to Gene.Joe if you want can you ask him if he would take it to H-Burg. Thanks
Guys the shirt will be coming back from Kzoo and we will be starting to mail it around for autographs(not to wear around please).
This will be a one of a kind and will have some signatures of some great Trad Gang members(some even legends).
Remember it will be auctioned of for St. Jude so get on board its a great cause.Thank You Tim
We got a pretty good start on collecting names at Kalamazoo last weekend. Special thanks to Killdeer for taking it around to many of the vendors.
The shirt is now on its journey and headed toward Matt, who was first on the list.

The shirt arrived today. I'll get it signed and tomorrow it'll be on it's way to Tim.
Matt, the shirt arrived today and will be on its way in the morning to Winterhawk1960.

T shirt going out to Travis House.
If you posted after the list went out there's a printed list in with the shirt. Travis is next with an addy.
I will ship it tomorrow morning.
Thanks Bud,
For those that added names after it went out when it gets to the last name on the list we will add the rest of the names and keep it moving. Time is of the utmost importance with keeping it moving a lot of people have to sign it. Thanks for the help guys.Tim

That's really cool....thanks for getting it jump started Joe....
$100........ :D
Might be nice to post up when you send it on where it's going so those of us watching know when to expect it?!
I lost count of where I am in the mix and would hate to be "off" somewhere galavanting when I should be sending and then moving it on.
Tim, if you have an updated list, and want to email it to me, I can add it in or staple it to the current list when I get it...
I'd like to be part of this if possible.

Doc I sent you an email with the names needed to be added. Thanks Tim
ATTN: as of today any names that are added I cannot guarantee that the shirt will get to you before the auction. Please feel free to add your name and if it gets through the current list in time I will make sure it gets to you. Thanks for all who are helping with this project.
As mentioned please when you get the shirt post and when you send it out post it so we can track and inform the nest person to expect it. I know its asking a lot but if when you get it you could sign it and send it out the next day we have a good chance to get more names on it. Thank you all :campfire:
Remember it for the kids of St. Jude.
Got the add-on list, Tim...will staple it to the current list when I get the shirt. I promise to STAPLE the add-on to the other list and NOT to the shirt! :)
I will post when it shows and will post to WHOM I'm sending it (not their addy). I may even try to find their screen name in a search and send a PM to that effect or an email if they have one.
Helps to know when it's coming to be sure to look out for it!
Thanks David. The list is composed in order from the way they posted page by page. if you need the screen names.
Great idea Tim!

Tim,
When is the auction specifically???
Do you want to put an end date for it moving around and on THAT DATE, whomever has it at that time, ship it to WHOM? Back to you??? REgardless of what names are still on the list?
David, I have to check with Terry as far as when listing starts and ends.Having a cut off date is a good idea.
Sent you a PM. I can add whatever you want if you get your wording to me, add it to the enclosed list with a "end date" to be sent back to you...
Then you'll know it's in your hands when the auction is going on or before it ends so you know for sure it's there and ready to go to the winning bidder!
I would love to participate. Thanks-

Thanks Leland for the update. We have to keep it moving guys time is against us.
Looking back, it appears 5 more to go before it even gets to me and I'm on Page 2! :scared:
Tune from Smokey and the Bandit come to mind... :)
If the PO could turn it around as quickly as it gets signed and sent we'd be OK. I sent it off priority to Idaho and had sticker shock!! Not sure how long it took to get there though. If sent first class then it may take a while longer. Don't even think about parcel post...you're looking at about a two week delivery time.
Got it Sat., 3-24-12. :bigsmyl:
Kuri my red Dog wanted in, too!
Signed it today, 3-25-12
JAG/Johnny & Kuri
We got at least a month yet... and what gets done gets done...
Tim did a very good thing here, and I applaud and salute his foresight!
Next time, we just know to start it sooner.
Only thing could have expedited it was to have somehow arranged it's travel plans by region, it might have gone faster than jet-setting from one end of the country to another and back again!
No flipping idea how THAT would be accomplished, but next year, we might not even HAVE a Post Office service according to MY mail carrier!
(sorry Killy---just what I heard!) :nono:
I think that sending it in an organized fashion would be easy. An excel spreadsheet with names in one column, addresses with City and State in another column, then zip codes in a separate column, then sorted, would make it a bit more organized. Heck, if done right, some folks could meet face to face to pass it along.
Have two months of posting addresses on TG and then once the list is printed it's a done deal after the shirt is shipped.
The only disadvantage would be some major trad shoots/events might get missed.
Thinking out loud....
Guys I thank all of you for getting involved and keeping this moving along.
Next year I may just put up an autographed picture of Oprah and make it easy on all of us...LOL

Dont worry Doc, I should have started it early. But I am upset that you wouldnt bid on an Oprah photo...LOL
Status update on who has it if I may. Thanks Tim
Need its location please
Tim,
Looking back, JAG was to send it to:
* Arron Collins in IN, next
* to Randy Keene in GA,
* Ole Green in TX, then
* Scott Parsons in MO,then
* Jon Richards, in KS... and then finally, to
* me in PA. From there, I'm to send it to
* David Gendron in the Yukon!
Hoo, boy! That is a lot of "haul n oats' back and forth just to just get thru p2!!!
Keep er moving fellas.
Any idea how long it will take to get to Yukon?
I have no Idea David. It will depend on how much time is left after you, if it goes any farther.
Let's see an updated picture.
If no pics show before, I will take some and send to Tim to post, but that might be a bit being 6th in line yet! Should be in INDIANA to Arron by Monday I'd think...
Maybe some in line will take a pic and post?
It is on the way to me now..
Thanks Randy, if you can let me know on here when it moves from you.
Time is short I gotta keep track of it. Sorry if its a hassle to you guys but its what I gotta due to make sure its back for the auction. Thanks Tim
Looks like once Randy gets it, it will go to Rob, Scott, Jonathan,Dave Landis,Dave Gendron,Justin,Bruce,Gary,Roy,David, then to me according to this postings responses. After me I haven't searched further yet. I believe I send it to Kyle Betts.
Got shirt today...signed and sealed back up. It will ship out to Rob via priority mail in the am.

Larry at this time, I may not be able to add to the list, its taken a long time to get from member to member and the auction is approaching and it still has a way to go.
I see that Terry or crew posted up under "how Auction works" on the St.Judes site, the following schedule.
Looks like all the auctions start the same time but end at varied times?

First off I want to thank everybody for contributing, bidding, or helping in any way with the Auction. St Jude Children's Research Hospital is a great cause and I'm honored to do my small part in helping them find cures for childhood disease. I'd also like to thank Trad Gang for allowing and supporting this charitable auction.

Please realize that as Tim posted above, and this is HIS BABY, there may be limited time left to get it around further than it is...

St. Jude's Auction Pass-Around Gang T-Shirt
The shirt has been on it's journey since January, starting at Kalamazoo (thanks Joe Lasch aka Whip) and then onto individuals in the order they signed up...
There are many pages of folks who jumped into the fray since I first posted... but the time it has taken to mail it back and forth, we'll be lucky to get thru page 2 before the auction.
I do not wish to risk any mail delays or the possibility of a "loss" from this point on, especially crossing Country borders and different mail systems so close to the Auction. The next stop would have required mailing the shirt off to David Gendron in the Yukon, CN. I have made the decision to stop it in it's journey when it reaches a brother just a few hours from me. I hope all will understand that this close to the Auction, I'm concerned about the shirt being in my hands when the auction starts!
Ole Doc Nock (David Landis) has graciously (depending on when he gets it) offered to take it to two shoots to add more signatures of Gang members and vendors who have supported our sport. The shoots are Baltimore, MD(May 18th, 19th ,and 20th) and Whittingham, NJ(April 27th 28th, and 29th).
To those who've been expectantly waiting their turn to sign, my apologies that it's taken this long to get as far as it has, zig-zagging back and forth across the country by mail. I should have started it earlier.
It's been a learning process and perhaps by another year, we can sophisticate the process to get it to more people...
A big "THANK YOU!" to so many who have invested time and effort and money to sign, box it back up and get the shirt off to the Post Office to send it to the next person...
For those who wanted to sign, but will not get to sign the shirt, perhaps you can add to the fun by bidding or at least joining in on St. Jude's Auction and help raise much needed funds for the kids!
Thank you all for understanding
Tim
Understood, I'll bid it up!
Thanks, Tim, for posting. Nice note.
I would hope folks don't get offended, and with luck, at either one or both shoots, I can get many more signatures and get it in your hot hands quickly...
If anyone is attending those shoots that would like to sign, please look me up. Killy will know where I am camped at B'more and KME will be my contact point at Whittingham, fwiw.
Maybe next year, someone with good computer skills (not me, not me!) could put the names in some sort of spread sheet or data base and run the zip codes so it'd fly, not in the order of sign up, but cosolidated by geographic region?
It would probably help to get as many signed up as quickly as possible to facilitate that another year... then close down the sign up till it makes its rounds and consider "add-on's" once it's made an effecient journey...
That is, presupposing the USPS will still be functioning... My mail person tells tales of woe! :(
TTT for those in line...
Doc Nock?
Who the yell is Doc Nock? :dunno:
Killdeer :D
Careful, Sweet Thang...
Us old people don't get even...weze get ahead...then wheeze! :knothead:  :nono:
Just figured, Killy, Since you're the Starlette of Trad Gang, everyone knows you, so at B'mo they can use you to find the shirt! :)
Killy we need you, your famous!!! and you make a good locator beacon for Dock.
Dock I think a nice bottle of brandy and a campfire of friends may make her remember you.
Nice touch!
But the brandy is to FORGET!
This is my camp. I will be out shooting. Knock on the wall of the hardside Apache camper which will be afflicting the immediate area. An old guy in there will hobble out with the shirt.
Killdeer
Yeah, Tim...and her drink of choice is/was Woodford Reserve bourbon... but that's now in a class of hooch beyond my simple means... :)
I'll leave the shirt with Spirit- The wonder Dog, cause I intend to shoot, too, till I'm outa arrows and that might be quick way I"m shooting! :(
Course, I didn't get this profile by not eating so I'll be around the grill at some point for sure!
Just a reminder the shirt will be at Whittingham this weekend for those who want to sign it.Tim
Yes it will be, Lord willin and the cricks don't rise too far!
I have the shirt in the truck and gear packed...waiting for the wet to stop falling up there to arrive and set camp.
Look for the white(ish) Apache hard-side pop up camper, Green F150 w/ green peeling paint cap and a silver fly set up (if it doesn't blow away)...
...or inquire at KME booth...they'll know where I am!
Got a bunch of signatures from Gang members at Whittingham.
NOTE: There are NO donation required to sign the t-shirt.
WE're just trying to make it a "keepsake" of current trad gang members' signatures that someone will treasuer enough to bid high on St. Judes Auction.
There has already been a significant investment by participants who mailed it endlessly around the country since early in 2012
Where's the shirt going next? Or is it on hold now since the auction is so close?
Never mind. Didn't read back far enough. Understandable decision. Just my normal luck. A day late and a dollar short.
Bruce,
Please don't feel slighted. There were people signing up for WEEKS after the shirt was wandering from TX to Maine, back to CO, to MS, etc.
Tim had to make a tough call and once he said to hold it when it got here, I offered to physically carry it to 2 regional shoots!
If it does well on the auction and another such venture ensues next year,I think Tim is considering an early sign up period, then put the names in some sort of spread sheet(?) and sort by zip so it travels more efficiently and hits more folks and less time juggernauting back and forth across the USA.
Once the sign up period is closed... it rolls and maybe get around folks more quickly.
No problem, Dave. I totally understand. The logistics lots of times are hard to navigate. I'm just proud to be a part of this here family. :)
Just a thought guys. If you want to do this again next year rather than mail it to people for one-at-a-time signatures, figure out a list of shoots and shows that it can be taken to and find someone to take it to a shoot, get sigs, then mail it to the guy who'll take it to the next shoot or show. I'll volunteer to take it to the GLLI (Great Lakes Longbow Invitational) either this August (if you want to get a jump on next year) or next August. Wow, I just had another thought...perhaps we could a vendor or two to have it in their booth at a show or two. That way, there'd always be someone there to "manage" it and Doc and Killie could shoot more!
If time allows i'd be happy to partisapate thanks
Another thought....
Pony Express it.
Shooter to shooter, face to face.
Would need to be planned well in advance with a cutoff date before first mailing or transfer. A zip code sorted spreadsheet sent with the shirt with phone numbers and street addresses so each participant can get it to the next nearest person. Either by mail or by arranging a meetng.
Maybe two shirts? East Coast and West Coast? Competition to see which one raises more $ :) ?
No time like the present to think it out....
Love this idea and hope this T-shirt raises large funds for St. Jude's.
Thanks for thinking of this lpcjon2!!
Bud, I love the East coast vs West coast idea. Now the wheels are turning.
Maybe I can get a pair of inexpensive back quivers(Hill Style for the amount of writing space) and do the East West showdown.Tim
When the time comes, PM me.... :)
Will do thanks
Lots of good ideas... only trouble with GLLI is being August, the next year's shirt design won't be out yet and the following year, it will have missed the auction...
For now, might I remind my east coast folks that there will be one last signing flurry at the BBTC shoot in B'more May 17, 18, 19, 20. Those are the dates I should be there...
David, Thanks again for taking it to Whittingham and the BBTC.Tim
And you can guarantee next year will be an East Coast VS West Coast signature battle. The ? is what will be signed.
Good point, Tim.
Years back, I carried a "bracer" to B'mo and guys signed that for a "cause"!
Guess it could be most anything that is big enough to hold sufficient signatures to raise a bundle... :)
Just an FYI:
Anyone on Gang wishing to sign the T-shirt for the St. Jude's Auction can still do so at the Baltimore BBTC trad classic May 17-20th.
White-ish hard side pop up camper, old green F150 and a big silver fly over my cook area!
Ask around...folks will tell you where I am and we'll "git er done".
Thanks!
As Doc stated the shirt will be at BBTC may 17th to the 20th. Just look for the Tom Selleck (Magnum PI) looken guy he will have it...LOL
Oh, Good Lord, Tim! :o ... my aunt used to say that about me but they diagnosed her as senile 5 short yrs later!
At least I didnt compare you to someone like Squigie from Lavern and Shirley. Take the compliment we all need them as we age.
There is that Tim, and I'm grateful...
:knothead:
Dont worry Doc I used to resemble Kevin Costner, then my kids got older now im more like Milton Berle.
Now that right there is pretty funny, Tim. :jumper:
FYI the shirt will be at BBTC this weekend.
Check out the pics on page 9 there are a whole lotta more names on it, this shirt is priceless!! I dont think you could ever get all the top notch Archery heroes autographs all together again on one item.

It was a hoot walking around Whittingham and then just this week at Baltimore shoot, asking if "you post on trad gang". Got many reactions a nd did some recruiting for the site! Somefolks never heard of this place...odd!
met some characters and folks I see post but never met... even had a few come up and ASK to sign the shirt in my camp! That was very cool!
Check it out...there are names on the back of the shirt, but all the new additions from page 9 of this thread are on the FRONT (see St Jude Auction #5 post and pic)
PB reported back to me that they're upgrade hosed IE8...so I have been handicapped in posting.
