Title: Arrow Suppliers
Post by: vwhilux on January 10, 2012, 11:31:00 AM
Hey there, i am new to this site, so if this post is in the wrong section or if there is a similar thread that i have missed, i apologize.

I was wondering if you guys have any recommendations for raw and full length feathers. I'm looking to build quite a few arrows and want to get the best deal. I have been scouring the net, and have been shooting for years so i'm familiar with the bigger suppliers.

These guys say they have solid full lengths for $30 per 100. I called to verify. Its the best price ive seen on the net, and the lady that answered seemed nice.

Im also looking for a good supply of raw turkey feathers, and i'd like to try goose or pheasant if they happened to be reasonably priced. I did see auction ads from an asian fellow. his bamboo shafts looked amazing, as well as his feathers. i know these feathers are not easy to come by and are probably worth the asking price, but i'd like to see if they can be had for less $$.

Also if anyone knows where to get some of the old, higher quality mercury speed nocks that would be awesome. Thanks guys

Please no links to outside websites / suppliers

The best place for feathers is Magnus here on the gang. He is a associate sponsor and his name is Matt Gundock. Good guy to deal with and sells excellent product for a reasonable price. Look him up.

I know the woman you speak of. She does indeed have the best feather prices you'll find.

Be careful when buying strictly on price. The quality is directly proportionate to the price most often.
I like dealing with Mike at the Nocking Point. I get fair prices, good service, and I like the guy.

I think making an unfounded statement like that is ill advised. If you've used her feathers and made that decision that's one thing. But if you have never even seen them that's another entirely.

Whoaaaa....don't have to go off the deep end. Just saying that usually when some product is vastly cheaper it is cheaper because the quality is cheaper...not always. My statement was merely to be meant for those who are considering this source to fully check it out and not just jump in because of price....geeeez. Sorry I ruffled a few feathers....   ;)

I have a good supply of TrueFlight full length from before the "commercial grade" for $35 per hundred.  Good price on a known quality.  I have Merc nocks, too.

You're right, Snag.

Sorry, i forgot to add that they would only need to be stumper quality. i use pieces as short as 3 in. i tend to break a lot of wood shafts and im just looking to stock up a little. thus the price comment. i understand you get what you pay for
