Has anyone seen or heard what this broadhead is going to look like? There has to be a sneak peek out there somewhere.
Seen them advertising that BH in 3 rivers I was wondering the same thing. Anybody know?

That's just wrong to say. Lol
It's not a new broadhead, it's a Rap CD by the twins.
Contains songs like "Smack dat Whitetail", "Crack dem Bones", "Pair a dies by da Headlamp Light, "If ya Wanna be wit a Winnah, You Got's to Drop dat Chicken Dinnah", and the new hit single "Bloodhole". Plus many mo.
Word!
I'll be watching this thread. :coffee:
is it a mechanical? LMAO :)
Joey Ward, YOU AIN'T Right!
:scared: :bigsmyl:
JAG/Johnny
He aint right but it was funny!
I just got some info from 3R
The guy told me it's a 125 grain screw in non vented woodsman elite type head.
Sorta sounds like the smallest non-vented 3 blade VPA makes to me.....
Screw-in? How do I put that on my wood arrows? Ha ha...

Yep, I know too. Unlike boomerang and Sharpster, I could be bought though.
But it's going to cost ya an all expense paid moose/caribou combo hunt in British Columbia with the outfitter of my choice before I spill the beans.
Give us the info and we'll see how much it's worth.
:saywhat:

What's a "blood grove"? Did you mean blood GROOVE? And why on earth would a broadhead need a blood groove if that's what is being referred to? Enlighten me. Sounds like something meant to separate folks from their money.
David, I think it's just supposed to be a cool sounding name. Kinda sounds like the name for a metal band...
All I know, is that the Woodsman 3 blade heads fly great and are easy to sharpen!!! So I am looking forward to finding out what this new head has to offer. I am sure it will be worth the wait!!!
In my experience, the 3 blade woodsman creates its own blood groove. :D
David,
I agree, they are great heads!

Just can't picture two Avoirdupois whitd bo's doing a bop sh bop Rapper CD---just won't compute!
Well I was looking for info on the 160 Woodsman Elite to see why the design seems to have changed and found this thread. I have been using the 160 Elite , on and off , for a year or two. I like em and decided to re supply. The Elites I received have a different ferrule than before and are a full 1/4 inch shorter. They do weigh in at 160 and appear the same width. They did not come "hunt ready sharp" by my standards( the edge wouldnt catch my fingernail) but that is easily corrected. When looking at the head, point up, the left bevel is much wider than the right bevel ( quality control?) In essence it's not the same broadhead.
I'm sure these will work out but I sure would have prefered the old design. Just when you find something you like.....
Well, I looked at the VPA site and my 160 Woodsman Elites look alot like the VPA 160. Hmmmm
If it goes all the way through, what does the groove do?
Does it need batteries?
Still nothing on them?
Maybe they only exist in some isolated areas- like the quivers of a new tribe of bowhunting Sasquatch....
They r just screw in small vented woodsman I believe.
Alligatordond. The woodsman elite has always been manufactured by VPA and is the same head as their terminator. I don't know if the VPA changed their design on the 160 grain but I know the 175 grain screw in has not changed any.
I too have been shooting the woodsman for several years. I use the elites mostly now. The only thing i don't like is they are now made smaller on the shaft end. I belive they are all made for 5/16 shafts. My arrow dynamic traditional lites are now larger than the end of the boadhead. Anyone else notice this?
:campfire:
geez, this is really good marketing. how anyone could ever improve on a really basic 2 bladed broadhead is beyond me.
justin
They have a picture in the catalog i got yesterday. I'm a fan of VPA but at $20 a piece I'm out!!!
:wavey: Check out the new 3-Rivers catalog that just came out.Page 45 and back cover,Blood grove screw-in, 125 gr.,3-pack $59.99 :archer2:
aarrrgggg
Kentucky has em...
North Carolina has em....
Where the heck is my catalog?!!!...lol
Can anybody scan the info from the catalogue and post it?
They are really nothing more than a smaller versions of the Woodsman and too expensive for my taste when you compare them to other similar heads on the market. They are non vented, 1 3/4" long and have a cutting diameter of 1 1/8". I don't have a scanner so cannot transfer a shot from the catalog.
VPA sells a solid, 125gr. 3 blade, $40 for three...why would these be $20 more money??

that's what I'm thinking......
OOOOoooo..but these are longer...lol
They do have more time into making them to put the lightening groove in them.
I can see the extra cost.
I'm not sure, but it looks a lot like a VPA 150 with some of the center of the side of the blade milled a bit thinner to shave off weight.
Have to admit..I'd rather shoot these over the Squatier VPA 125's...but if I was shooting 125's I'd go with a 2 blade or with the 125 WW for a bit more penetration do to the the added length.

This is correct fellas. The Blood Groove heads take a LOT longer to make, going through more tooling all the way down to a 1/16" end mill on both sides of each blade, and therefore the reason for the higher cost.
Hope that helps. As always, if you have any questions on VPA products or anything we make, shoot me an e-mail at midwestbowhunter@gmail.com
